The food was very well prepared - everything from the house bread to the dessert was wonderful. We tried the Salmon special and the Canneloni. The Canneloni comes with two tubes of pasta, one in a cream sauce and a the salmon was grilled and served with veggies. Both items were delicious. Dessert was cheesecake. Very light and airy. I came here for a dinner with my co-workers. It's a really nice neighborhood. The inside of the restaurant itself is also pretty, with rustic brick walls, flowers and leaves for decorations, really a nice cozy setup. The menu had lots of good appetizers, pasta, meat, chicken and seafood dishes. Of course there was great collection of wines as well. For appetizers, we got the lobster tails, calamari, mozzarella caprese and focaccia. The lobster tail was incredible, tasted so good with the butter sauce. Rest of the dishes were also amazing. For entree I picked the copping antonio (seafood in spicy tomato sauce). It was another marvelous dish, filled with lots of fish, shrimp, mussels, clamps, mixed it a delicious sauce, that had some kick but wasn't too spicy either. The toasted best was the perfect side to sip in the sauce with the seafood. Loved it. We also got some desserts that were equally top quality. The service wonderful throughout the dinner. They assisted with pouring wine, filling up water, and constantly cleaning out the empty plates and dishes. The dishes came out in short intervals. Overall it was an exceptional dinner experience. I really hate to write this review as our first experience at Antonio's was phenomenal. We were so eager to return! My filet was ordered medium rare - and delivered along with my husband and kids food all at the same time (as you'd expect). However it as delivered well done. I brought this to the attention of the waiter and he took the steak back to be re-done. Unfortunately anyone with kids knows that there is a time limit on their ability to sit and wait - meaning I didn't get my meal back while my family finished theirs. Ultimately I asked for mine to be packed to go, not being able to dine along with my family was extremely disappointing. Upon arriving home when I did get a chance to eat I heated my steak in the microwave for 2 mins (knowing that this would likely cause it to now be overcooked which sucks.... esp for a 60$ steak I didn't get to enjoy with my family. To my surprise, the steak was rare even after heating it - not to mention probably one of the most FATTY filets I've ever had. My husband's chicken Alfredo was also incredibly bland. This is a far cry from our first visit and the only positive was the tiramisu. Overall very disappointed in not only the food but also the lack of ownership by staff regarding the poor job in the steak. "I'll note that next time you like it a little less cooked" was the exiting comment.... NO, I would've just liked it cook to temp I requested. Had a reservation on a Saturday night to try this place. It's got a beautiful setting both outside on their patio as well as inside. We chose outside. Everyone was super friendly and our server was excellent - making recommendations especially since it was our first time. While we weren't that hungry we enjoyed everything we had. - escargot (yummy!), house salad (ample, bigger than a side salad but smaller than entree size. The dressing is tasty), Dover sole special (topped with crab and scallops) with side of brussel sprouts (sautéed with onions and pancetta), and the mini eggplant parm appetizer and creamed spinach side (wish there was more spinach but it was yummy). Their bread basket was nice and accompanied with a very tasty seasoned olive oil for dipping. Located down in the Addison Circle it's a great area to spend an evening and walk around afterward. Atmosphere: Tons of seating, both inside and out. Double table-clothed tables add a sense of elegance all the while being a place that invites both romantic dates or casual walk-ins. Informative (rattled off 4 separate specials for the night without hesitation), and very attentive. We wanted for nothing. I could not decide between two dishes (Penne Alla Piriano or the Italian Sausage Ravioli), so I told Sergio to just bring me one of his choosing. He did not disappoint. 2 Stars Food: Sergio ordered me the Penne and it was amazing. The sausage was the highlight. So tasty. And the sauce had just that little bit of Italian spiciness that set it off. My dinner buddy tonight ordered the Chicken Parm and WOW!!! Not only was it two HUGE crispy fried chicken cutlets, but they were so tender, they seemed to just melt in your mouth. The service is great, atmosphere is quiet, gentle, and you feel relaxed...which is the best way to enjoy a great meal. Service was really good, the waiters were very attentive and enjoyable to talk to and helpful. The pasta was ok, it was fine but not really worth the price except for the lasagna. The bread and salads were probably the best thing I had other than the lasagna, they were really good and the oil we dipped the bread into was amazing. The atmosphere was very nice, it was pretty crowded so there were lots of people talk in and it wasn't that loud for it being so crowded. We came here for tasting Tuesday for my birthday. We had a group of five and I had called ahead to let them know we were coming. They direct us to the room and told us to find a seat which there wasn't any space for five of us so they had to end up adding a table and moving around. I was grateful that the audience was OK with accommodating us. The tasting was good and the food samples are pretty small. Last time I came, as they finished up, they immediately asked if we wanted to order any meals that we liked from the tasting. That's what I expected to happen this time. Instead, the server asked about dessert, we asked for a meal menu, and by the time she came back, we had decided we would just close out and walk over to another bar. It took 45 minutes to get our tabs to close out for the tasting where each of us had the exact same amount. By that point, it was almost 9 o'clock and everyone just went home still feeling a bit hungry. Aside from the lengthy time to get our checks, the restaurant was very accommodating and wanted to make me feel special for my birthday. They had everyone in the tasting room sing happy birthday, and they brought out a cake 30 minutes after we had finished. And as we were walking out the door, they had limoncello shots for us. In the future, I would recommend, if you're going to do all of this to do this as your meal is finishing up because we had been sitting there for 45 minutes waiting to close out and the room had cleared out. read more

I actually came here two years ago on my partner and I's first date, so this place is pretty special to us. I will say that the portions have gotten markedly smaller while the price tag has not. The friends we came with this time remarked on how small the portions were as well. It all still has a similar flavor to what it used to be, but it was a noticeably different experience. Our first visit was a wonderful experience on a sultry summer evening. The main dining rooms are beautifully decorated and air conditioned but a little loud for date night so we chose a table on their large patio, perfectly positioned for people watching. We arrived at opening time. No wait for a table, but we had to wait 15 minutes at an inside table while they finished a "staff" meeting, and then they moved us at table by the window. Perhaps they should schedule these before they open for business? This was followed by a long wait before our server came to the table. We placed an order for appetizers, and after 25 minutes flagged someone down to let them know we wanted to place our main course order, as our server hadn't bothered to check in on us (we hadn't received starters yet). Our server showed up after the starters were delivered, surprised we wanted to order a meal. We placed our order, and when it arrived (delivered by other staff than our server), my companion received a different dish from what he ordered. So I ended up eating my dinner while it was still warm, and then waiting while they made his food, brought it to the table and he ate. The food was good but not extraordinary. All in all it was a substandard experience for what presents itself as a higher end dining venue. Growing up in the Midwest, I became accustomed to family run, local, Italian restaurants that aren't as modern and over the top as most of the Italian places you find in Dallas. You can tell they have been around for a while and have a strong local following. My boyfriend and I split a bottle of Chianti, which was VERY reasonably priced, and delicious. They compare their wine prices to other high end restaurants and come in significantly cheaper. For a starter, we split the fried asparagus, which was unique and delicious, especially with the goat cheese that warms up from the asparagus. Great table bread with oil & vinegar. For the entree, my boyfriend ordered the Risotto Alla Veneziana, which had incredible flavor. I had the Spaghetti All' Amatriciana, which was light yet hearty at the same time. The only complaint I have is that service (post-meal) seemed very slow, even though we were basically the only table in the restaurant.
