Snuggling with her favorite peacock feather!
Tabetha J.

I just happened to see a parking spot and checked out a few stores in the historic downtown Littleton area after a meetup nearby. It seems like there are so many independent pet stores in Denver (I just moved here) and this is the first one that I checked out. I have a handful marked already on my googlemaps and so now I have added this one as well! Anyway, Zoey's place was full of high-end, unique and locally made finds. I got a couple of peacock feathers for my 2 cats which they loved chasing and munching on. I also got them some dried animal organs (forgot what they are exactly and it's not exactly clear by looking at them) which they were momentarily interested in (as cats do...). I also took a pic of some more expensive healthy food that they were out of the smaller bag of to remember it. Maybe they will have the smaller bag next time I am in Littleton. I love the stores in this area!

What I really liked was the vast choices and quantities of frozen raw food. A food type I feed my dogs as often as possible. The staff were exceptionally nice and the shop dog made me smile. She was very friendly and super interested in what I was buying. I left with a few new toys and some fish skins my dogs absolutely love. I don't live especially close to this business but if I did, I'd sure stop in to shop the raw foods. The only reason this isn't a five star review is the prices. I felt they were a tad high and designed to cater to affluent "all natural" types and that really is my tribe.

Everyone who works there is so friendly and greets us (well most importantly Calvin!) by name and with enthusiasm! Megan, Julia, Nicolette, Finn and Rowan all make Calvin feel like the most special, best boy in the world. Which he most definitely is so it is very nice of them to recognize!! They are also so knowledgeable and we have made great discoveries there. I trust that anything they carry is of the utmost quality and safety for my fur baby, and that gives me a lot of peace of mind. They are diligent in their research and quality checks. I love that they have so many local and small brands. They have a great education wall and such a great variety of products! Calvin always gets lots of treats in addition to all the love and they partner with other local businesses. So grateful that we discovered Hero's!

Pet City receives its puppies from puppy mills in Missouri! Please do not help support the cruel…read morepuppy mill business by buying puppies at these stores in Aurora and Colorado Springs. Puppy mill dogs are bred repeatedly in small wire enclosures that deform their limbs and they never receive vet care. Common health problems of breeding dogs include blindness, rotting jaws, burns on legs from living in their own urine and filth and any number of infections. These dogs are never allowed outside and receive no human interaction. These are the parents of the dogs you buy in Pet City pet stores! When they are too old or sick to breed they are often taken outback and shot. As for the puppies that wind up in pet stores, they live the first 8 weeks of their life in the same disgusting cage that their mom lives in and then are taken away at 8 weeks (at least 4 weeks earlier than recommended by vets). They are then shipped by the hundreds to puppy stores around the country and are sold to unsuspecting consumers who usually end up with sick puppies and piles of vet bills. The only way to stop puppy mill operation is to stop the demand for their puppies. Instead of Pet City check out puppy stores that adopt rescue animals or go to your local shelter!

Asked if they did any senior discounts and the owner/manager brushed the question off suggesting if I didn't have the money I should look at cheaper pets. Filthy conditions, obviously sick animals and about 15 kids messing with the animals without supervision make this a place I would never buy a pet from! Stay far far away.

They carry most of the brands us hobbyists know and love, as well as brands that are comparable in quality, but lesser known and lower priced. The prices on coral and livestock are really good. Ryan runs an amazing service program as well and he helped me turn my tank around in 2 months when I thought it would take at least a year. I'm telling everyone I know about their store because the service, products and attention to detail are second to none!
