Having just moved to a new home I wanted to find a pet store that has a self wash for my queen hound Piper. Pet Palace is very close and is family owned. I do buy from the big box stores but supporting smaller businesses makes me even happier. At $10 the self-wash is a great value and there are two self washes available. You get 30 minutes and they provide everything. From a room that you can fully close the door (or leave part or fully open) to ramp for easy entry into tub, towel with cookie (nice touch Pet Palace), shampoo/conditioner, brush and scrubber you are able to wash without issue. They also They offer a vet clinic inside. I haven't used so just mentioning as one of the services they offer. Pet Palace sells a wide variety of dog, cat, fish, etc. food and products. The staff is very friendly and they have cats and dogs hanging out in the store. Feel like a queen (like my hound Piper) or king when visiting Pet Palace. read more

We stopped by after playing at the Cherry Creek dog park. We needed cat food and were in dire need of a dog bath! Our dog was soooo dirty from playing in the mud and water. They have a self serve dog wash for $10!!! What a deal!! It includes towels, brushes, shampoo and conditioner. We had to wait a couple minutes while they cleaned the room (as there was someone before us - but we didn't need an appt) and it was perfect size for us to bath our 100 lb chocolate lab. This store is awesome! It has everything I need for my dog and also offers self service dog washing stations for just $10. I do fhe washing and they do the cleanup. Heck yeah...such a bargain! In the washing station they also provide towels, treats, shampoos, large hair dryer and combs brushes. They also provide aprons so your clothes don't get dirty. Awesome place. Oh yikes. I'm hesitant to leave reviews these days especially with the labor shortages and overall life hardships; but oh my goodness. I had a 4:30 appointment for a nail trim and gland expression. My dog was FINALLY seen at 5:03. The nurse that took him back looked HIGH. She could hardly walk or move and slurred her speech. I could then hear her yelling my dog to STOP. STOP IT, and basically yelling at my dog when they just PLOPPED him on the table and didn't even have any proper leash or tie up. She ended up cutting the quick. The entire service was shitty and my dog won't stop licking his paws. Do NOT go to this vet clinic for anything, even a simple nail trim. Pathetic.. read more

My pup and I are regulars at Cherry Creek off-leash dog park, and he's usually in need of a bath afterward as I drive home on Parker Road. I happened to stop in last weekend when I saw they were open on Sundays and had a self-serve dog wash option. Ten bucks and I had a room and shower all to myself with the pup. The water was warm, there was a drainstop to catch all the dog hair, and they provided shampoo and towels. Did I mention the towels were tied and had two small dog treats too? I'm a sucker for anyone that gives treats to my boy. The staff was super helpful and I walked out with a bath, an elk bone, and beef bone for $15. My dog and I were both winners. read more

Okay, I am very disappointed in their practice. Over 2 YEARS AGO we started a frequent buyer card. The card is "Buy 12 bags, get the 13th free" When my wife went to redeem it, they said "Oh, well now its 15 bags before it's free". Then when I went in, this is what happened: The card has a stamp side to it so they know the bag size/type and even a unique red stamp. After the first time we went (mind you over 2 years ago), they never took the UPC off the bag. The next time we went, they said "Well we're keeping the UPC's now". Fine, no problem. Now when I went to redeem our free bag, they said "You need ALL the UPCs". I told them the situation and they said they won't acknowledge just the stamps. So I asked if all the people who never got UPCs are SOL and they said yes. So WTF is the point of the stamps, and writing the type of food, etc etc if they only need the UPCs to prove purchase?! I could even print a 12 bank statements to prove I bought them. Now this isn't just some ordinary cat food. We spend a whopping $50/BAG ON THIS FOOD! They eat better than I do! and since we mix the dry/wet food, a bag lasts a few months. So we've done this a helluva LONG time, been loyal customers, and now they want to make us buy another bag before its free. So I bought yet another (and my last bag) for the sake of the free one next time, but thats the last this place will get my business. What a bunch of crocks. read more

Overall, Pet Palace seems like a decent store. They don't sell puppies or kittens but instead have resident cats and dogs of their own. I stopped by the store with a specific reason - I needed to purchase Roudybush pellets for my parrots, and Pet Palace is one of only few Denver stores that carries them. Unfortunately, the selection was extremely small. There was only one bag per small, medium, and large size pellets - none that would last my birds over a week. They do sell birds, ferrets, hamsters, mice, fish and other small animals. I was upset to see a Green Cheek Conure in a small dark cage. The cage was livable, but by no means a healthy environment for the bird, who seemed unhappy and unsocialized. read more

My dad adopted two kittens from there that lived to a ripe age of 17 and they have a wonderful staff that has also been there for 20 years. Great stock of healthy dog and cat foods as well as accessories and toys you can't find anywhere else. Pet Palace is like Whole Foods for dogs (and other animals, I assume). They have all sorts of natural, healthy options for food, treats, and everything else. The thing is that they aren't overpriced--their prices for the same item are comparable to PetSmart, etc.--but they offer more expensive high-end stuff that's healthier for your dog. The things we buy there include natural, high-protein dog food; glucosamine treats (for joint health) that are derived from bovine tissue, which helps with absorption; high-performing dental treats that keep the dog's teeth clean; and assorted goodies like cow's ears, raw bones, and bully sticks. I pretty much trust that if Pet Palace carries it, it isn't complete unhealthy junk. The staff are all incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The guy who I think is the owner is always there, checking if we have questions and answering them quite knowledgeably. When we expressed concern about how our dog was eating less this summer (the first summer we've had her), he told us that dogs often eat less in the warmer weather, and we have found that to be totally true. He is very well informed and every time we look up any information he's told us, it turns out that he was completely right. He also carries the heavy dog food bags out to the car for us and generally just has a great understanding of customer service. I much prefer this store to Petco et al. read more

I've been a customer here for over a decade now. Always receive friendly greetings and assistance with anything I need. They have the best selection of healthy natural foods and great prices too. The owners go out of their way to help you with your purchases and they educate themselves on all of the products they sell too....extremely helpful if you don't know exactly what you need. The vet in back of the store, Dr Haas, doesn't have the best 'bedside' manner (can come across as brash and rude sometimes), but he is an awesome vet and truly cares about the animals he treats. This place is the greatest! The staff is awesome, the products they sell are great and reasonably priced and there are a lot of unique products. Every time I go in there the staff is so great about taking time to help me with whatever I need. Today I was looking for boots for my dog and even without me asking for help, a staff member walked by and gave me a tip for trying them on. Another time I needed an airline carrier for my dog and a eons literally sat on the floor with me, helping me get carriers from high shelves and put my dog into all of them until I found the perfect one. Might I also add that it was a Sherpa carrier and it was much less expensive than I've seen at other stores. I live pretty far now, but I will go out of my way to swing by this place. read more

In all, if you are looking for a locally owned pet store with knowledgeable staff look no further. It seems as if all staff members are "whipped" into shape, while that term may seem venile, it's actually good in this case, (beileve me). Every time the door chime rings a staff member will be ready to provide the information needed to satisfy your need. Both owners know their products end to end. While both owners are great, In my opinion, each is to their own. Both Cheri and Tausha can answer all your questions easily with over 20 years of experience. While no pet selection is provided for animals such as dogs and cats, there are several other options such as rats, hamsters, ferrets (ocasionally), reptiles, and a large variety of fish. All animals all well taken care of. Matt does a great job of keeping his fish healthy, therefore purchasing a fish from them is safe, and all fish purchases are backed by a 3 day guaruntee. As prices may not seem suitable for one at first, the quote "you get what you pay for", will quickly play in. Most things aren't "dirt cheap" but you actually pay for quality. Unfortunately for a selection of saltwater livestock you must go elsewhere as they don't carry them. Overall of you are looking for reasonably priced high quality goods and great, very great service you have found your place. Pet Palace is amazing! read more

They actually do know and in the bases allergy testing on dogs here and it has literally saved the lives of three dogs that were in rescue. I wish they promoted this more because there is such a great need for this and people don't even know about it. I tell everyone because alot of dogs have unexplained illnesses due to food allergies. read more

Dr. Hass and his staff have been with our fur babies since 2000. His prices are reasonable and genuinely cares for all of his patients. He was amazing when we moved overseas and got all of our pet passports and government certificates. He knows them all very well and checks his records before we leave to make sure they are all updated with vaccines. read more

Unfortunately sad to say "I don't recommend this place". Poor customer service especially if your not Caucasian. Every time I've been at this store its been a poor experience been there 2 times. I tend to give local small businesses opportunities and for that reason I went into this place. The employees don't come up to anyone that isn't Caucasian even if they see you looking for something they ignore you. Everyone regardless of skin color should be able to get the same service. At the time I was there, a family of different skin color seamed to need help yet no one payed attention to them either because they were of different ethnicity. Meanwhile I could see everyone getting helped around them (really people! this is just not acceptable in 2014). The lady at the register rude and literally threw the receipt to me and change ! Almost like she was scared to touch my hand! Right after I payed the next customer in line got a hello, how are you? while i just got .... amount price and thrown receipt! Rude, Rude, Rude! I thought racism was done with a long time ago but sad to say it hasn't at this pet store! I love my pets but for this service def wont be taking the time to give them another chance and wont recommend this place at all! If I will recommend it'll be PETCO! Love Petco! People save yourselves a bad experience and go to Petco or any other place. P.S.
