He has repeatedly asked for a room change due to visible mold, and instead of resolving the issue, the staff keeps giving him false promises and excuses. He's shown them the mold, and they've done absolutely nothing to help. As well, I noticed, speaking to him, how stuffy he has been sounding. I feel horrible for him because he doesn't like bothering anyone and is more of a person that just accepts things. To make matters worse, I am pregnant and planning to visit him--and now I'm extremely concerned for my health and our baby's safety. The room has mold on the TV remote, bed skirt, and other surfaces, which is beyond disgusting. That's not just a cleanliness issue--it's a health hazard. Why did my husband have to clean some surfaces like the remote instead of them keeping with it? Let's be clear: mold exposure can cause serious health problems, especially for vulnerable individuals like pregnant women. It can lead to respiratory issues, allergic reactions, headaches, nausea, skin irritation, and worse. For someone who is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, mold exposure can pose even greater risks. This is not just unsanitary--it's a blatant violation of health and safety standards and likely a breach of local health codes. The hotel is aware of the issue and has chosen to ignore it, keeping a paying guest in conditions that are clearly unsafe. He asked for a simple room change and was misled instead of helped. Now, they are knowingly risking the health of not only my husband, but also myself and our unborn child. The proof is right here in photos--this is unacceptable, unsanitary, and should be investigated immediately.

The finishings were out dated and the staff was very odd. The water that came out of the faucet was a milky white and literally had some smoke like cloud coming off it. When I asked the front desk for bottles of water, he attempted to charge me $1 a bottle for Sam's Club water. I advised that I did not feel it was acceptable to pay for water when the reason I had none was because of the disgusting water coming from the faucet in the room. I asked if he could give us another room. He ignored the request and wanted to see the water for himself. He followed us to the room and we provided the proof. He then brought us 4 bottles of water at no charge. BUT did not switch our room. Upon check out, we advised the morning front desk clerk of the water situation. She did not even offer to give us a discount off our room or any type of compensation for the potentially toxic exposure to the disgusting water. I would never stay in this location again. Furthermore, from this experience, I doubt I will stay in any choice line hotel. Also, It is completely unacceptable that I paid over $100 for this room and was forced to have a $100 hold on my account that has still not been released. The room I stayed in was not worth more than $30 a night and reminded me of a pay by the hour type of establishment.

Most hotels that serve breakfast is mediocre at best because the food is barely even warm and the eggs taste like powdered eggs. This hotel had real eggs and they were good. The room was very nice and everything was so clean. The lobby was very welcoming. When we travel we will look for a Holiday Inn Express to stay at from now on.

We try to get a room off the rear to enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside. The rooms are always very clean and the staff warm and friendly. In the evenings there are snacks of cookies and popcorn. The continental breakfast is also satisfying often including scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, a breakfast meat, cereal, fresh fruit, and more! It is also centrally located to most things we want to do from shopping for furniture to stocking up on cheeses and spices to candles and leather goods. It is the personal home of Dave Longaberger from the Longaberger basket company. My BF's mom was a star seller of these baskets once upon a time so he is very familiar! I booked the fanciest room--The Dresden Suite! High ceilinged, king sized 4-poster bed, fireplace, sitting and desk area, small hallway with back access and a big jetted tub in the middle of the room. Features are great but the building, rooms, carpeting, furniture are quite old and worn. I think due to the age of the building and the lack of staff, the entire place did not feel very clean. Our room was tidy when we checked in but upon closer inspection, corners were dusty, papers and brochures were water stained, carpet was stained in places and peeling. This might have been an oversight but the bathroom didn't have shampoo or body wash stocked. There was liquid hand soap but my BF swears it was watered down and not quite effective. During our 1-night stay here, we only saw one person the whole time working and it was also the owner, Joy. She embodies her name as she warmly pads around suggesting we look around and offered to show us 2 additional rooms, which was fun. We didn't opt for the 4-course dinner that she cooks personally from scratch. It was $100 or something and includes a bottle of wine which would've been wasted since neither of us drink. We went out for dinner but upon getting back to the inn, Joy prepared a dessert for us--so cute! We got a small chocolate lava cake with a scoop of ice cream and a strawberry each! The room was stifling and we were unable to adjust the temperature too much. It was freezing outside yet we had to have the A/C on because of how hot it was in the room. We borrowed 2 of their many DVDs and put it on the background while we intensely played a board game. The next morning, Joy made us a delicious light breakfast. We headed out to the nearby abandoned Longaberger retail ghost town. Oh, and Joy's dog Chewbacca is adorable. She could definitely use a bath and grooming session but she was so friendly!
