Never had been to this cleaner so decided to try them out with a down vest I got from a thrift store. I was greeted and a few minutes later was registered. They took the vest and said it would be ready the next day, handed me a ticket. It was $4 and change. I was immediately texted confirming they received my garment. The next day I received another text thanking me then the text to pick up. At first it looked great but anything pressed and hung in plastic looks great. However, when I took the vest out of the bag it still had the same musty smell as when I took it in. But now it also had a fine amount of whisky hairs all over the vest!! I'm definitely not happy with the outcome! Looking at the reviews better seems they don't specialize in downing cleaning or specialty fabrics. If you have down items don't bring them here. Instead go to experts like Highlander Cleaners. They cleaned and fluffed my down vest ensuring the other fibrin wasn't harmed. For all other clothes Zips is quick and convenient. read more

I always have a pleasant experience at Zips. The staff may not always be very welcoming at first, but they do warm up when you make conversation with them, and I always end up with a nice exchange and a smile with the staff. I have never had any issues with any of our garments, and we have used them for a variety of items. Everything is always fresh and clean, pressed, and nicely hung/folded. My items have always been ready right on schedule, and their prices are VERY fair. I will continue to use Zips even though I have moved away and have other cleaners that are closer now. read more

This is by far the WORST place to get alterations and has the WORST customer service of any business I have ever been in. Three times I have attempted to have items repaired using their alterations services and three times they have failed!!!! I have gone in multiple times after my items were supposed to be back just to be told they weren't ready and to come back a different day. This last time they had my item for a month and after the third attempt to pick up my item I was told they couldn't do the alteration. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! I do not recommend this place to anymore. Dropped off 1 Men's Suit and 1 Ladies Gown on Wednesday late afternoon and picked up on Thursday by 5pm. The staff were very courteous and the cost was reasonable. I learned that they have an After Hours Drop Area. Since my local cleaner closed a few years ago, I'll be using Zips from now on. They impressed me last year when Santa needed his suit cleaned. I have previously been very pleased with the service you provide,Unfortunately, this was not the case on May 8th.When I approached the cashier--wearing my clothes.It seems the young woman was having personal problems.He asked me for my phone number, and I gave it to him.The only question I asked him was what name he had in the system, to find out if he had entered my phone number correctly.That was all it took for her to start speaking to me in a very nasty manner and rushing me, pressuring me to hurry up--even though I was the only one attending to the little girl.The most painful part of this situation is that when I went to drop off all my clothes, she put a "defective" tag on the very garment I intended to wear the next day--today, Saturday.When I checked my garment, it was in absolutely perfect condition--meaning they were unable to perform the work that was supposed to be done on it.This is the name of the employee who works at that place. We left some pieces for cleaning and some for alteration on May 31. Our items were separated and routed to different paths which is fine, but pick-up days for the finished work were also different, June 2 and 6. Upon pick up on June 9, two pieces weren't found by three Zips representatives. It was by peering around on our own that the missing items were located. Weirdly, both of these items were tagged, but clearly not well-documented in Zips system, and the work hadn't even begun on one of these two items promised by June 6. The representative with long red hair didn't put forth a service attitude, nor did she spare a single smile, but the other, Rachel, was professional and accommodating, with smiles. Considering the level of disorganization, we chose to take a refund for the unfinished item. It's unlikely we'd trust this location with our belongings a second time. read more

I took some bedding there to be washed and the man there gave me a hard time about washing them. He said I needed to get the stains out before they would wash them? Recommend for work pants, skirts,etc. Would I take my designer dresses or my husband's pricey dress shirts or suits here? No. BUT I highly recommend Zips for day to day clothes,sweaters and blazers. They do a very good job. Pricing is fantastic and staff is helpful and courteous. read more

Very inexpensive and fast. In by 9am out by 5pm. They do a reasonable job for the price, but don't expect stain removal, button replacement, or additional services you will be disappointed. Cash only at drop off, but a cash machine is available in the lobby. Edit- they now accept Visa and MasterCard for purchases over $10. read more

Zips store manager reached out after seeing the review and refunded my payment for the repairs and and gave me a store credit for later use. He was very polite and seem to genuinely want to make things right. Took in work pants to have some small holes in the knees repaired. They took a big piece of kaki pants and put inside the knee then ran a sewing machine back and forth in a zig zag pattern over the center of it. They didn't even remove the excess material inside the knee. They basically made work pants with small holes in the knees totally useless pants because the small hole wasn't nearly as noticeable or bad looking as the ugly sewing machine stitching running every direction. I did send a direct email to Zipps website. They asked me to send a direct message to them to correct the issue but no instructions on how they want me to contact them. read more

This has been by far the worst consumer experience I have ever had. I dropped off a beautiful BCBG silk blouse. What I got back was a wrinkled, frayed and discolored garment. My blouse was destroyed. I have had the blouse dry cleaned before and never had any problems. I brought the condition of my blouse to the managers attention. He claimed it was not their fault and suggested that we send the destroyed garment to a lab to identify responsibility. After much discussion he abandoned the lab and had me fill and sign a form. I was given a reimbursement amount that was much less than what I paid for the blouse. I was promised payment in 4 business days. I will try and update this review if I do not get paid. My fellow dry cleaning friends, take my experience under consideration before you take your clothing to Zips Dry Cleaners. I strongly recommend you go elsewhere. read more

Dropped off a bridesmaid dress for pressing ONLY and they burnt it, then had the nerve to put a note on it "sorry we were unable to repair this garment" seriously they damaged it and can't even take responsibility. Twenty minutes to walking down the aisle and have this to deal with. Very rude obnoxious manager "Diego" was lucky he wasn't there when I stopped in. The owner was of no help either. Another example of "you get what you pay for". $1.99 for shirts. Dropped off 23 of them which were already laundered to be pressed. Got em home, a week or so later took off the plastic. I've been using Zips in York for a few years, but it seems recently the service isn't as good. Things are not pressed properly. Most times, I have to iron things when I get home or want to wear them. Creases in pants very light or not creased at all. Some things come back faded. Bright colors are no longer bright. I am very selective in what I take to Zips. I know the price is great, but if pieces come back not the same, not worth it. I think the chemicals may be harsh, this may be the reason for the fading. read more

They do ok for simple dry cleaning, however my husband had a bad experience recently when he requested they sew some buttons on a pair of pants. The work was not completed when he picked them up. Reliable, in by 9, out by 5pm service. I'm a heavy user (1x+week) and have never had a major issue. Staff is friendly and courteous. Some neat convenience features like bar code key tags that speed account access, email notifications when clothes are ready. Clothes are cleaned on-site, a major reason they can reliably provide same day service which is becoming increasingly rare. Prices are extremely competitive. As a previous reviewer says, not sure how they handle problem stains and I've never used the alterations service. Overall, their reliable same day service trumps any downsides. read more

I took in several items to be drycleaned. the lady behind the counter proceeded to berate me for having dog hair on the clothing. I guess I should have cleaned the clothes prior to taking them in? I just picked up a mans suit and noticed double creases in the trousers and the seat was wrinkled, I also with that order I sent my wool jacket in to be cleaned and noticed that the sleeves were pressed incorrectly and it still seemed to be not clean. whatever happened to the dry cleaned smell, however toxic it might be, was completely void which makes me wounder if it was cleaned at all and not just pressed....dirt and all..... read more
