I have been there twice. The first time to get a suit cleaned. The light grey pants had a tiny line from an ink pen mark that I could have gotten out with a little water and soap, so I figured dry cleaning would get it no problem. NOPE. And not only that, they had double creased the pants! Ugh! The second time, I took a suit jacket that wasn't dirty, it just had slightly stinky armpits and I specifically told them the armpits needed deodorized, the guy wrote down (unknown to me) "clean arms." The jacket came back, still had stinky armpits. It's like they don't actually clean the garments! What is the point of paying them money if my clothes don't actually get cleaned!?!? This is the first time I've had issues with this cleaner. And based on this experience I will NEVER do business with them again and I'll be sure to let EVERYONE I know not to use them either. I had a NEW and very expensive blouse that I picked up after being cleaned - I found that the inept staff at Zips STAPLED my receipt DIRECTLY ONTO MY BLOUSE!!!! I am beyond upset as it ripped a hole in my shirt due to the weight of the hanging blouse. I contacted their corporate office to complain as I was unable to contact the location directly due to my leaving the country. (by the time I returned I felt too much time had passed) NEVER heard from anyone from their corporate office....wow, this is how they run their business? Second time I went....took two silk blouses and a pair of pants. I got home and put away my clothes to only found a hole in one of my silk blouses!!! Will definitely not take any of my garments here again!!Much rather pay a little more and have my garments returned without any holes...oh and another kicker..both blouses were tagged with "sorry we were unable to remove the stains"! I make this request each time, about a dozen time, even though there is a note about my request I get back my pants flat-front. I just got home from this place, with my flat-front ironed pants and my Louis Vuitton all wrinkled up, looked better when I took it in to get it dry clean. Took my now husbands tuxedo for alterations and went to pick it up so that he could wear it for our private wedding on New Years Eve. They had closed earlier than advertised. I instantly broke into tears in the parking lot. Thank God he had a backup outfit! When I went back to pick up our items I was helped by the manager who showed no empathy for me as I told her my story. I told her that I was "Done" doing business with her location and walked out the door. The worst dry cleaning service I ever had. My suit pants have some sort of glue or something on them that will not come off not to mention the suit coat has creases on the shoulder area and wrinkles on the bottom, very odd. It's almost like they put in more effort to ruin my suit than to just dry clean it. Not sure how or why a person could do this to my suit. I guess the saying is true cheap prices equal cheap results. I took my garments to this establishment on 10-14-20 to have them dry cleaned after returning to the store on the next day to pick up my clothes I noticed that they had just pressed over the clothes and they still had spots on them after examining my clothes further I also noticed that they were faded cost by the chemicals that were used to clean them when I address the clerk on duty about the non cleaning and the fading of my clothes and ask her to reimburse me back for the money that I paid them to clean my clothes and for the damages done she told me she could not refund me that I could leave them the clothes and come back the next day to talk with the manager to have him reimbursed me for the non cleaning and damages to my clothes he was very rude and disrespectful he told me that they do not clean spots that are on the clothes and as far as the fading it was cost by the manufacturer maker of the clothing and they are not responsible for the damages this was my first time ever using this establishment and will be my last time ever using this establishment I would not recommend any one to take the garments here to have them cleaned they only press over dirt and spots and charge you for dry cleaning which they do not do they are rude and disrespectful to there customer and do not practice social distance they also do not sanitizer after each customer this store should be shut down I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and taking them to small claims court for the damages done to my clothes please share this with all social media I recommend that you read all of the bad reviews that are giving then you will see that this is no place to take your clothes to be cleaned the manager should be fired do to al of the bad reviews that are written on social media that says a lot about his performance he should be replaced after reading all of the bad reviews about customer clothes not being properly cleaned I would have never used this dry cleaning service read more

My wife and I have been using ZIPS Dry Cleaners on Tech Road for several years now. I don't know how many times we've been there but it's been probably over 40-50 times (just a guess). On the positive side, they get it mostly right about 80% of the time. I like the fact that I can get my clothes within 24 hours or less, that they are relatively inexpensive, and if there's a line, it moves relatively fast. Unfortunately, the stuff they get wrong seems to be out of carelessness, and it keeps happening no matter how many times I've complained. For instance, I've had expensive dress slacks come back with 2 or 3 creases down the pant leg. This drives me CRAZY because you cannot iron those out at home - that extra crease becomes permanent! And about 30% of the time, one of my dress shirts (sometimes more than one) comes back with a pressed-in crease somewhere there shouldn't be a crease (usually in the back of the shirt, or where the strip of fabric where buttons holes are). I've complained at least 5 or 6 times, but it's made no difference whatsoever. The last 2 times I've complained, whoever was behind the counter didn't even bother to make a note on my account - it seemed to go in one ear and out the other. The straw that finally broke the camel's back occurred the last time I took my clothes there. I had two pairs of $90+ dress slacks come back with what looked like light grease or oil stains. When I took them back, the person behind the counter was not friendly or apologetic, and vaguely insinuated that I had waited too long to bring the clothes back (it had been 7 days since I'd picked them up, but he kept insisting that I had picked them up "last month"). That was a bit much to take. Of course, I had not worn the pants. And just looking at our history would have shown that we've been regular, loyal customers for years, and that we do not have a track record of bringing stuff back randomly. In closing, I'd like to reiterate that ZIPS gets it right most of the time. What has made me decide to not use them again is the fact that what they keep making the same careless mistakes over and over again, and seem to not care about customer complaints. It's as if those mistakes are an accepted part of the way the do business, and there seems to be no attempt to rectify them. read more

While the staff isn't out of this world friendly, they are courteous and efficient. We have had our clothes cleaned here since this location opened and have had great experiences. Even on the couple of occasions where a spot was missed, they took care of it right away. The other day I just needed a sport coat pressed and they did it right away for no charge. $1.99 per garment sounds like dry cleaning heaven! But don't even get your hopes up because the saying you get what you pay for definitely applies for Zips! As a previous reviewer mentioned, they returned my clothes just as dirty, with all of the same stains in tact. I could have sworn they had not done anything to my clothes....But ruin it! The shiny buttons on one of my coats were extremely scratched, another one of my white Sisley Coats (my favorite coat) was returned to me with a lack luster Color and did not look the same since...I have no idea what this is due to and there was tar and discoloration marks on a pretty peach colored slacks that were not there before. Huge mistake! Also I had a silk dress that has it's own silk belt, the belt was lost apon return....At the moment the only thing that I noticed was that the stains were still intact and the clothes were just as dirty so I asked if they had even cleaned it. I paid for spot cleaning.They said the stains were not removable....But I removed a spot of stain on my coat with my finger by smudging very easily to prove to the girl that they were removable...they didn't even try to accommodate or apologize. They just had blank stares and their hands behind their back the whole time as if they didn't really know what to do....If your clothes are nice and you care about them getting ruined. PLEASE do not take them to Zips for $1.99. If you have a coffee or lipstick stain on a shirt, don't even dream about it going anywhere. Better off paying the regular price. This is my first bad review :( So I gave Zips about 7 garments to clean. Can't beat $1.99! However, they came back with stains still on them and they also smelled a little musty. There was also slight discoloration in a really pretty coral dress I gave them. I'm really disappointed because I would love to frequent a dry cleaner with this price-- I really wanted to love the service, but I'd never go back there again. My clothes weren't ruined but they came back as dirty as they were before with a little bad smell to them :-/ read more

I have been to this location about a half-dozen times, without any problem. The services aren't great, but the prices are, so I frequented their business because of that. However, on my recent trip I had a garment ruined by the store. I called to report it as soon as I noticed and the manager reassured me they would make it right. I was out of the country on travel so they said to just come in when I got back- there wouldn't be any problem. I thought wow! this is great, what good customer service. Boy was I wrong. When I returned with the garment, I asked to speak to a manager who said to leave the skirt with him and he would fix it. When I came to pick it up he refused to fix it saying they decided not to make it right, but that I could pay them the $20 to fix it. When I explained kindly that they were the ones who destroyed my garment, he got irate with me. I asked if there was a manager or someone I could speak to or email, or file a claim. He said he was the manager and had the final say and that I could just not frequent them again if I didn't want to. So, they could fix the garment, said they would, and then completely changed tone when I went back in person and yelled at me. Needless to say, I won't be frequenting this business again and I would suggest no one else do either. You think you'll save money on dry cleaning, but in the end you'll spend any savings fixing the damage to your clothes. read more

Terrible experience. Ruined a Burberry tie of mine, burned a hole in wool pants and cracked buttons on 3 shirts. They told me that I needed a receipt and pointed to a sign that said that the maximum reimbursement would be 30 dollars (for my 150 dollar tie) After I tracked down my receipt, they reveal that the 30 dollars is good for in store credit and future dry cleanings will not reimburse cash. They wasted my time, have shifty policy, and are terrible at cleaning clothes. If you own clothes that are nice or that you really like STAY AWAY. read more

First and last time using Zips. We took several shirts, pants, and a jacket in for dry cleaning. Shirts that went in without stains came back with multiple and different stains and were not pressed at all. Pants were pressed improperly to the point that the seams were actually pressed into the other side of the fabric. The jacket did not come back clean at all. Not sure if it's human or machine error, but their starch leaves sloppy marks. 30% chance that someone will ignore you. They are usually standing at a cash register, but doing other things. Not even a "look up" to say, "someone will be with you in a moment". They will usually just walk away no matter the length of the line. 40% chance whomever helps you won't have any idea what is laundry vs. dry cleaning material - unless it is elementary (like a suit vs. cotton shirt) 50% chance the person that helps you never looks at you. 60% chance the person behind the register will not confirm the number of garments you have given them 70% chance the buttons on your shirt will be chipped, cracked or broken. They will replace (thank you!), but what a hassle! 80% chance they won't verbally confirm the number of hangers counted match the number of garments on the computer. 90% chance that there will be a line...which is really sad, considering the above remarks. 100% chance the person that get's your clothes never smiles at you - coming or going. read more

Two stars. I send my clothes to be cleaned and pressed and receive them back wrinkled, with iron stains and small little specks of something stuck to my clothes. It's not worth the 2.29 if my clothes will not come back looking better than when I dropped them off. While I have no rips like some...yet, this iron stain on a very nice blouse i was planning to wear to a professional event sealed their fate for me. My review in short: I was quoted $5 to have a button sewn on that fell off a blazer. A sign clearly stated the job should only cost $1.50. I filed complaints with a few agencies. Let me note this dollar amount may be trivial to some but this kind of business practice is highly illegal. Whoever this franchise owner is they're an embarrassment. You should do more to properly train your staff and update your POS system. See my full review below. I've gone to this Zips quite often for about three years. During this period I've gotten dress shirts laundered and pressed, slacks dry cleaned, a blazer dry cleaned, and several suits. I've had my dress shirts buttons damaged or broken after dry cleaning, staples left in my garments from paper ID slips being stapled through fabric (which is obviously damaging) and the occasional dress shirt not pressed properly leaving wrinkles. Despite all this I've continued to use this Zips franchise because of the convenience. As of May 2016 I no longer do business with this Zips franchise. I discovered in an attempt to have a button sewn on to a blazer that employees are directed not to charge posted prices for services. A sign which was prominently displayed in front of the registers stated the cost of button replacement was $1.50 plus the cost of button replacement (as I had my button this cost was irrelevant). The employee informed me that it was $5 dollars and it would take a week. I laughed (no really I laughed out loud) and explained to the employee the obvious discrepancy with the price. The employee stated, "I can only do what the computer tells me to do so do you still want it cleaned?." I promptly left, but did a few follow up things. I filed complaints with the following agencies: BBB, Montgomery County AGs Consumer Protection Unit, and the FTC. I've also attempted to reach out to the owner/Managment of this zips franchise to clarify this issue, but I've gotten no where with that. All in all, do not go here. read more

Easily the worst dry cleaner I've ever used, and I for some reason stuck with them for years, despite indifferent-to-rude service and frequently weird splotches on my shirts that I have to rinse and dab out. A number of times my shirts have had a mildewy smell that made them too repellent smelling to wear. Last month they literally gave me five shirts in the bunch I picked up that simply weren't mine. Fortunately I caught it quickly after getting home before they could give away my shirts to another customer. I had to make a special trip back (20 minute drive each way), and the cashier couldn't even offer an apology. Today I picked up my clothes, and the pants I paid $6 to have a couple of buttons sewed into of course had no buttons. After calling the store three times this evening and never being able to talk to a person, they get to keep the $6, because I'm done. I'll pay slightly more at a dry cleaner closer to home that knows what they're doing and how to treat customers (e.g., simple pleasantries like "hello" and "thank you"). read more

I moved to this area in July and was looking for a nice but affordable/cheap dry cleaner. I've had always heard the ad about ZIP cleaners on radio, so I decided to search for the nearest one. I found them and came to yelp to read reviews and was actually discouraged to try them out. However, due to a busy schedule and the lethargy to look around for another one, one fine day I just decide to try them out with a couple of shirts and a pair of trousers. I dropped the clothes before 9 am and as promised in their ads received them after 5 pm the same day. Even though it was that quick , the quality of the work was not in any way inferior. I was happy and impressed with the overall service. So, as a result I started taking all my laundry and dry-cleaning to them on a regular basis and was never disappointed or frustrated with the quality of their job or with the service or anything at all. In my last trip there, I took a newly purchased suit to them to be cleaned and also needed to alter the length of the trousers followed by hemming. To make things worse, I needed the suit for my office Holiday party pretty soon. The girl at the counter said the cleaning would be done by 5 pm next day but the trousers would not be available only on Monday, which was after my holiday party. So, I requested Eddie (I am not sure if he was the manager at the floor or a team leader) to let me know if there was any possibility of getting it done before the said time. I must say they delivered what they promised and I was totally impressed by them. Overall it's a really nice place with good service, friendly and smiling people, a cheap and small clothing repair shop. I like their operational hours and the location. DO NOT TAKE YOUR GARMENTS HERE!!! I recently moved into the White Oak area and I was seeking a cleaners to meet my professional dry cleaning needs. To test this location, I brought in one suit for cleaning and repositioning of the collar. Upon pick-up, the collar was not repositioned. The owner (?) happened to be in the store at the time and instructed staff to redo. On my second visit, I brought in one sports jacket with specific instructions to clean the collar and lapel (the rest of the jacket did not need any dry cleaning). Upon pick-up, the jacket LOOKED EXACTLY THE SAME as when I brought it in. After repeated attempts to "re-clean", there was no appreciable difference. Thereafter, several employees, including KATIA and IRMA, refused my reasonable request for a refund inasmuch as ZIPS had failed to earn the money it received from me. (Oh, did I mention that you MUST PAY IN ADVANCE for all items?) BASHIR was offered as the name of the manager, but after separate visits, I have yet to ever find him at the site. I found the staff to be MISLEADING, DUPLICITOUS, ARROGANT, And CONDESCENDING and TOTALLY WITHOUT REGARD TO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In fact, the staff reminded me that "yeah, there are other cleaners". I guess you get what you pay for. I'm originally from the west coast and a business suite would've about 12-15 bucks. But they actually remove all stains( that can easily be removed with water) and press it nicely without smelling like old clothes lost behind the closet. So I guess I should have guessed the quality by the price. I been coming here for a few months and I always try to give them another chance. But I feel I'm done with these guys after today getting my suite with a old food stain. I asked the gentleman if they even spot check it and he stand yes but I have to tell him in advance about any stains. ..., I'm sorry but I'm giving it to you to clean. Have been using zips for a few weeks now and so far I have no complaints. Staff is very friendly and quick when it comes to greetings and taking or retrieving your clothes. So far my laundered clothing has been laundered and shirts have come back with no missing buttons and the proper amount of starch. In fact one shirt that had a missing button, zips replaced for free. If I could give this business a "no star" rating I would. My wool jacquard jacket was completely ruined stained with a swath of some time of yellowish liquid across the back, the manager, when notified, asked if he could clean it again "for free", I was so disgusted there was no point in my taking it with me. The dress that I left was ironed so poorly that when I pulled up the plastic to look at the quality of that work I unintentionally said out loud, "Where in the world could I wear this wrinkled mess?" Other patrons just laughed out loud. Leaving with the dress, I left them my pink wool jacket and swore they would never get another dime from me. If you are looking for a bargain, don't even try it. I have been to them several times in the last two weeks to have several items dry cleaned and one repaired. I dropped off slacks and a sweater which came back in good condition but the slacks were not pressed. The second time I took a sweater and a royal purple silk blouse which I cannot replace. The blouse had moisture stains under the arms which I pointed out. Since I have alot on my plate with the passing of my Grandmother it did not occur to me to check their workmanship.Once I did when I got home I saw a tag stating we can not make further attempts to clean this item for fear of damging it. Well guess what a purple blouse does not have bleached arm pits. They are literally worn by cleaning chemicals to the point where there is no color left in the fabric. I also had made a repair inquiry on three occasions and each time told the seamstress would be there on a different date or time period as well as several different prices and the fact that I could not leave the garment with them but had to give it to her personally.
