Disappointed! The girl at the counter who took my order was nice, so I don't have a complaint regarding customer service. However, the condiments and the items they advertise are not available. I was told no fry sauce and that they don't carry at this particular location. However, I have been to this location many times and always had fry sauce. They advertised having lemonade on their menu but yet they were out of that as well. It may seem like petty complaints, but when you pay close to $30 for a hamburger, fries and shake you would think they would take the time to stock up on items for their customers. Not a bad idea with USA obesity issues. Bathroom door can't lock. The bathroom is grimy and no soap. Then the food came. First time eating at Zips where I felt it was fast food, and my burgers had been sitting under heat lamps as they were very hard, overcooked in fact, crunchy and chewy. I've always had Zips where they had ketchup and fry sauce. This one had ketchup in little tear bags and ranch dressing and no fry sauce. On top of that they're just in these single use plastics which just contaminate the Earth. I love Zips but this is the weakest in the Zips family that I've seen. I grew up eating at Zips and like to treat myself when I'm in eastern WA to a burger or fish. I was looking forward to dinner there the other night near the end of a long roadtrip. I placed my order while a young guy was sweeping or mopping the front counter area and a woman asked him to go to the prep area to help with orders. He put the broom or mop aside and went back, with his dirty hands, and grabbed gloves to start prepping food. I specifically watched to see if he would wash his hands before starting and he did not. I asked if he was really going to make food without washing his hands and the young woman taking my order said, "It's ok, he's putting on gloves." Nope, that's not how that works. Grabbing gloves with dirty hands does not equal food safety. I walked out without getting anything from there. I won't be going back on subsequent trips to the TriCities. The health department needs to look into this place and workers and management needs retraining badly. read more

However, another employee had a very poor attitude and seemed like she did not want to be there. When I asked for extra ketchup, she cut me off and said, "It's in there." I parked to check, and there was only one packet. When I went back inside, the employee immediately knew what I was coming in for. I was very disappointed with the service, and unfortunately the food was not good either. By the time I drove to the park (about five minutes away), the fries were already soggy, almost as if they had been sitting out for a while. I don't know if this is owned and operated by different people than the one located in the Y but has always been the worst of the zips. The online menu did not match what was on offer in restaurant. No garden/Veggie Burger. Fries weren't seasoned and they don't have fry sauce. What kind of classic burger establishment doesn't have fry sauce? There is no comparison with the one on Columbia center blvd or the one in Richland. This is the worst of all the zips. All the zips are overpriced but at least at the other locations you somewhat get your moneys worth. This place the quality has gone down tremendously over the years and the price has just continued to sky rocket. i have only ever been through the drive through and decided today i would go in a sit down to eat. when i walked in the place is completely run down and muggy. i ordered my food and sat down and the manager starts yelling at the cook over a order that got messed up. she starts degrading him at the top of her lungs for everyone to hear. i get my food and it's pretty decent size and tasted pretty good. but as im sitting there eating, the manager still continues to yell at the cook. the food being good just wasn't enough to ever come back. the place needs a complete remodel and new management ASAP. it was completely disgusting in there and the bathroom was unusable due to no lock. overall i wouldn't recommend anyone to eat there. read more

I grew up in the Tri-City area and Zips was the place to go. After all these years the fish & chips, burgers and fry's are still the best in my book! Not to mention the shakes and fried mushrooms! Service is always helpful when Hoyt memory is rusty on what you like, patient and kind. The dining rooms are definitely retro to the earlier years but clean. My daughters boyfriend was introduced last year and he is a big fan now! While in town for 3 days we ate here twice, loving it each visit! Simply the best & most delicious! My favorite this visit was the Super Burger, 2 patties with lettuce & tomatoes and pickles and can't go wrong with the fry's and yummy tarter sauce to dip! read more

We happened upon this burger spot completely by accident. We were going to a park, but our kiddos, and myself, we're getting a bit hungry. We decided to continue up the road we were on and boom, zips is hanging out waiting for us! This place has a very old-school feel, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they take cards and don't only require you to pay with cash. I've got a pretty extensive burger menu including the burger we sampled, the belly buster! This Hass had beef, bacon, ham, cheese and plenty of Fixin 's. That and a cheeseburger along with some delicious tots, call fed our family of five, most of whom were hungry. We did not get our customary shake because my wife was not particularly hungry, though they did look good. The burgers here were way less expensive than most of the spots we have visited over the past six months, and they were definitely in the top 25% of what we've had. This is very likely a spot that we will hit up again at some point in the future. read more

I used to go here all through middle school, high school, and after college. Wasn't till I went in the Navy in 85 that I was unable to. Going there on a visit to family after living in LA for the past 11yrs, it brings back a lot of memories. Outside the Original restaurant in Kennewick the city has grown up, but inside, even with the new faces, the food and the relaxing atmosphere, better then ever. Considered a three and half star because the server was barely awake and I don't think we made eye contact once, but that is the first time that has happened here so I let it go. I love Zip's. The Northwest is lucky to have a burger chain this good. Their secret tartar sauce makes the crinkle cut fries even better. Some franchises have cheaped out and gone with shoestring fries and some prepacked tartar. And I don't go to those place anymore. One of my favorite things about Zip's is when they say Bacon Burger, they mean it. The bun cannot contain the baconness!! Some places give you two tiny paper thin peices of bacon they either hardly cook or they burn the crap out of. Not Zip's. The bacon is HUGE, and THICK, and there is at least 3 pieces. Also love the shredded lettuce on the burgers. Don't know why, just tastes better. Maybe it is a texture thing. And now for the big kudos. I asked for no tomato. I got no tomato. Anyone who has read my reviews know how ticked I get with places that give me tomato when I say no. It shows me they aren't listening and aren't trying. This Zip's got it right. I am tempted to give this location five stars because they do such a good job and I love their food. But I think they cost too much. Like, if 2 pieces were taken and cute into 4 portions. We got tarter and ketchup, no fry sauce. Our "medium drinks" are in small water cups. The employees were pissy and took forever. I'm from California and I know what a more expensive burger joint should looks like. My favorite burger place is in San Luis Obispo ca. My family and I have eaten Zips for the years quite a bit. Always try to support local and they've always had friendly employees. Tonight was a completely different story. The young man working the first window made no eye contact, no manners whatsoever. The lady who handed us our food at the second window, shorted our food and then after looking at my receipt to see that's what we ordered and paid for, questioned us "are you sure you paid for that?" My comment is around service. The food was good. The service and billing mistakes were unacceptable. We ordered an orange float and they person taking the order repeated it. When they gave us our order it came with a large Pepsi. We informed him if the mistake. He asked to see our receipt and said we were not charged for that drink and said he would have to charge us three more dollars. Instead of owning their mistake they put it back on the customer. To make matters worse when we reviewed the receipt we realized we had been charged for shrimp instead of chicken. The entire meal was over $50. I will be dining at Zips in the future. read more

Take it from me, you'll love it. But remember not all Zips are the same. I will never go to the Columbia center Zips ever again after a girl who was actually the manager who did some things to my usual order just because I wanted extra pickles and mayo on my salad burger. So she put nothing but pickles and mayo on it, nothing else. When I get a corn dog I like lots of mustard, so when I asked for extra mustard she charged me another dollar for it. YIKES! But the Cable bridge Zips and the Lee Blvd Zips are a class act and I know this from years of eating there. They make your meal to order and isn't it about the details that makes a good meal into GREAT meal. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The fish, the burgers, corn dogs are all fantastic!! Great place. I think I ordered some sort of Buster combo. The burger is awesome with bacon and slabs of ham and cheese. The fries were probably the weakest part of the deal but the fry sauce was good enough to make it all better. I don't go to many places that make me say "i can't wait to go back" and the next time I'm in Kennewick there is no possible way I'm gonna pass Zip's! A solid 5 star place. p.s.
