I want to start off by saying that 2 years ago, I never had any problem with the service that Zips provided. However, I wish I could say that now. I took in a white shirt and a pair of Lana Merino wool suit pants. I put them in to be cleaned and pressed. I got the my things the next day and went home. Opened up the bag...and most to the wool was off of the pants. There was a tag that said they were received in damaged condition. If they were damaged to begin with I wouldn't put them in the cleaners. Now I have to fine something else to wear. I loved that suit! Before that I would put casual dress suit in to be cleaned. Now they refuse them. It was nice to have a cleaner right next door. However, I think my wife and I will look elsewhere. Suit don't grow on trees...especially in this economy. read more

DO NOT LET THEM DRY CLEAN YOUR CLOTHES!!!! These people ruined our clothes. Our clothes had red marks on ALL of our items. They tried to say it was from an article of clothing from our pile BUT we had nothing red!!!!! We dont even wear red!!! read more

Used them 14 times last year. Price can't be beat. Seems like my high end shirts come up missing. They offered me a 12 dollar shirt to replace my Brooks Brothers. Shirt I wore once. Burned a pair of my pants with iron, failed to tell me. read more

Not happy. My shirts have a dark lint material imbedded in them. I can't get them off off using a lint roller. Will not go back.

This is an excellent place to go if you want to get your important articles of clothing cleaned and pressed. I have been using this location for over a year and have only experienced grade A service. With people like Evelyn Isidro who are not only good at there job, but helpful with questions or concerns you might have. They lost my clothes and I've yet to hear from their manager. She told me she would call me (5 wks ago). I've been to the store 2x since and have sent a letter and a complain to headquarters. Not a pip from them. So I'm filling out forms for small claims court and they will have to lose a day just to make the trip. The jury is still out on this place.... 2 weeks ago I noticed my pants weren't even cleaned just pressed and didn't have a fresh clean smell. The whiskers were still visible too (hip creasing). My shirts came back with a faint collar stain. I also had a work jacket cleaned by them because of a weird syrup-type odor it's had for some time...odor is still evident, I would've done better washing it myself. Definitely a "get what you pay for" kind of place! Gonna see what condition my clothes come back next week. So far, not impressed. I hate the thought of spending double if not triple the price elsewhere but I may have to go back to biting the bullet for professionally cleaned clothes. read more

I took my son's $1200 suit jacket for dry cleaning to this store because of a stain on one of the sleeve . When I got my jacket back I noticed that they didn't do anything to the jacket , the stain is still there. I took it back and told the cashier about the stain , she took the jacket for cleaning again. Next day when I went to pick up the jacket I couldn't believe my eyes,jacket is full of new stains. Do not use ZIPS for alterations! First I was promised my items by Friday when I dropped them off earlier in the week. On Friday, I was promised them the following Friday! Then when I wore one of the shirts this past weekend the seam came unraveled where I paid to have it fixed. Today I have on the dress and the seam on the sleeve that was supposed to be stitched is undone. I will be calling the store today and complaining. read more

First when I dropped off two garments the guy taking them did not even look me in the face when I told him what fabrics they were made out of and what needed to be done. 24 hours later, no call from them, so I assume everything when fine and I stop by to pick up my two garments. I should point out one is made of linen, dupoinie silk and wool, the other made of silk brocade, dupoinie silk and linen. It seems they cleaned one but rejected the other because it was "damaged." When I asked them to point out the damage, they were answered that it was the nubbs in the dupionie silk. Ummm those are a result of how the silk is freaking woven! They are supposed to be there! So I had to send it back and will now have to make a second trip to pick it up tomorrow. And they made no sound of remorse for the trouble. Result - is tat I learned they know absolutely nothing about fabrics, their care and are not willing to listen when giving instructions. I'm worried they might launder the dress instead of dry cleaning it and run the whole item. I have over 400.00 worth of materials in the dress and that does not include the 5 weeks of research and sewing to make it. read more

Wow! Quick service and they did an outstanding job on my clothing. Dry cleaned 3 Hugo Boss suits, 3 paid of dress socks, and a bunch of casual clothes to include t-shirts. I accidentally stained a recently reupholstered arm rest and I took it to Zips Dry Cleaners to have it cleaned. Whatever chemicals they used lighten the fabric and they hard pressed the fabric; which caused the pattern which was raised to flatten. Be selective of what you take to Zip. Do not take anything expensive or anything you value. You get what you pay for and they are cheap, because they do not offer quality service. read more

Unfortunately, I did not read these reviews on this establishment prior to my unpleasant experience. I visited the Marlo Heights location w/ 2 white suites and a trench coat. The coat did not need to be cleaned, but one of buttons had come off (which I had with me) and the other 2 were loose so I asked that they be re-tightened. Mind you, we're talking THREE buttons which took FIVE days. Long story short, I return on the 5th day to pick up my items and my coat only had ONE button on it. No managers were on site and was not expected to arrive until 6pm, however, I told the clerk that somebody was going to speak to me before I left so she reached for her cell & called a manger, who assured me that she would take care of it and have it ready the following day. I made trip # 2 the next day (afternoon) and no coat or at least these young lazy clerks who lack attention to detail couldn't find it. Again, I was told the manager would be in at 6pm (what kind of hours are these???) So before I make trip # 3, I decided to call first just to save on gas and to keep form having to show my a**! The manager, who was very courteous told me that she had it ready so now I'm good to go for trip #3. I run to grab my coat and I could see the buttons thru the plastic so I trusted that they FINALLY resolved a THREE button issue. To my surprise, I pull off the plastic to find that one of the buttons was sewn on backwards and the other 2 they did not replace the reinforcement buttons on the back. It's just small buttons that are threaded thru to the main button. Also my suits didn't look as crisp white as I thought they did when I brought them there. Now, I don't write many reviews and the ones I have have been positive, but I promised myself that #1, I WILL NEVER EVER EVER EVER... return to a zips cleaners and #2, I would sit down and write a scathing review on this establishment. I still don't understand why the lines are running out the door. DO NOT BE FOOLED, THEY SAY YOU CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE BUT YOU WILL BE BEAT!!! read more

Not sure why this place has such bad reviews. I've been here a couple times and they haven't disappointed me..especially this last time. THEY LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE! I had a bridesmaid dress that I got coconut oil on 3 days before the wedding--SMH! I googled and tried to clean it myself and ended up making it worse! I brought it to ZIPS the next day and they didn't promise me they would be able to fix it but I took my chance. Mid afternoon I received a call from the manager saying they were able to get most of it cleaned but wanted to keep an extra day to make sure its perfect- free of charge (even though I offered to pay!!) When i picked it up the next day it was basically brand new again, I was SO happy. The customer service I received was AMAZING and i really appreciate it. I will continue to support this place..and best of all--its super affordable!! In by 9 out by 5..cant beat it! Thanks again :) read more

I went to this particular location being that it is close to my house. When picking up my clothes Vilma the cashier was very short with me. I was suppose to be picking up 3 pieces, Vilma came back with two then started to walk around the store but avoiding eye contact and kept distance from me. I had to get one of her co-workers attention and inquire what was going on, so they LOST my work shirt and the other pieces that I came to pick up my white button up and two HUGE stains. Vilma was non apologetic and could have cared less, I spoke to the store manager on duty. Her name is Laurie and she was semi yelling and was not really educated on how to help the situation. Then I tried to get compensated for my LOST work shirt and my stained shirt ZIPS DRY CLEANING messed up, so I called the general manager for the location Jaici. She had a Sarcastic apology and said Shbasically had to wait till she figured it out. Take a look at the other reviews for this location. DON'T GO !! Your clothes will end up Missing or stained. This isn't over. Laurie the store manager stated she was going to call me back today 6/4/18 and failed to do so. She isnNot capable of her position. Still my work shirt has Not been recovered. The issue was resolved yesterday 6/6/18 by assistance from the BBB. Vilma the cashier was still rude and very impolite when I interacted with her yesterday. Even over hearing her dealing with other clients was extremely unprofessional. Still stay way from Zips all together you have to go above and beyond to get the justice and help you need for the facility Loosing your work shirt. read more

This place needs a minus signs for its rating and should be closed down because they apparently have no clue how the drycleaning business works. The clothes should be cleaned or cleaner when they come out. They should not have stains that were never in the clothing when they received them. My winter white pants now have yellow spots all over them. My sweater have some dark oily looking rim on them. Any light colored garment has dark and red spots all over them. This is ridiculous!! People -- boycott this business! NO -- I'm not calling because they ALREADY KNOW THAT THEY PROVIDE THE ABSOLUTE WORSE SERVICE POSSIBLE IN THE DRY-CLEANING BUSINESS. It's true -- cheap product...cheap results! Your franchise needs to shut you down because this is your normal level of service. HORRIBLE! New customer and I would seriously avoid this ZIPS location if you are worried about garment care and really getting your items cleaned. Just got my dry cleaning back and they ruined a brand new White Burberry Polo. (Not a cheap shirt) Dark stains all over the front and sleeve. I have tried to call the Laurel location multiple times and they will not answer. Sent an email through the website and will wait for a response before going there in person. There is no way they couldn't have seen what they did to this shirt, deceptive and careless. Next step Better Business Bureau.... read more

I have frequent the Laurel MD location many times. Unfortunately last week will be the last time I'll ever visit this location. I will not discourage people from coming to the store but i will not encourage either. I have always have multiple clothes at hand during my visit and have only complained two times. The first time, my shirt was misplaced for another shirt but the manager on duty was very diligent and talked nicely and promised to find my clothe which she called me and returned my shirt. The 2nd incident just happened last week which is the actually reason i'm writing this message. I brought in 9 items and only picked it up without looking at the condition before i left. One of my Polo shirt got 3 holes in it after it was cleaned. I had wore the shirt to work before a co-worker joked at me about wearing a rag shirt to work. I brought it back to the store and the first thing the manger said was that, why did i take the tags off? I should have not taking the tags off if i wanted to return it for any reason. I was ecstatic. So i'm supposed to be wearing the laundry tag with my shirt? I didn't know that was the norm with my dry cleaning. She later said she does not believe that it was from the store. The most baffling thing about her statement was she does not even try to talk to me like a customer. I felt really embarrassed that i had to leave. I did not say nothing to her. I just walked out. I will not go to that store anymore. However, before she gets you in trouble, you might want to investigate her attitude with other customers. I'm sure someone will have something awful to say about her. I am really disappointed that someone like that could be hired as a manager in an establishment like this. I am not looking for a replacement or anything like that. I'm just letting you know how frustrated i was with her attitude. i do not need any thing to compensate my frustration. My dress was taken to this facility and they pretty much ruined my dress by ironing out the rusching(sp). When I took the dress in and explained the problem I even brought in a picture of what the dress is supposed to look like. I was told a manager would contact me. Needless to say I wasn't contacted. A week later I called and spoke to the manager, Anthony, who informed me he was aware of the problem and they could fix the mistake. He said he would get back to me. He did not. Several days later I stopped by. Anthony informed me they were still working on the dress and he would call me in no less than 2 days. Again he never called. I stopped by again because calling and leaving messages was not working. This time I was told the General Manager, Tina Sams would be looking into the matter and that I would receive a call the next day. This past Saturday I received no call. So today I go in and upon speaking to Anthony I am told Tina was there and said there was no problem w/ my dress. I clearly was not happy and realized that Anthony wasn't going to be of any help. After being told that Tina does not have a central office and calling all 3 locations she overseas I am disgusted w/ not only the service but lack of customer service w/ this company. This is not my first disappoint w/ this chain. But this will be the last time I do any business with them. For cheap dry cleaning of dress shirts they might be fine but I'm recommend paying an extra dollar or two and going someplace where they value quality. of their responsibility. read more

I dropped my clothes off more than 1 week ago and went for pick-up last Wednesday. Long story short, the person at the desk asked me if someone's pants belonged to me, I said no. I notice that they are taking longer than usual to find my items. She comes back to the register and asks me to describe my dress. I did and asked if there was an issue. Finally the manager came over to let me know that my dress is not there. She checked the tape and a man left the cleaners with my dress. I was trying to stay calm and asked what would be done. She said that she would call him and have him bring the dress back and have it cleaned or even go get it if she needed to. She also said something about Maryland law says they have 30 days to replace minus depreciation. I could care less about this. I am the person inconvenienced and would really like to have my dress back. This was about a week ago. Needless to say, no one called me back, so I called this past Friday to see if she has reached him. The manager said that she spoke with his wife and she was going to check and call back. I called on Monday and just a few minutes ago and no one answered the phone. I know that they are open, so I'm not sure why they aren't answering. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone! Although the prices are cheap, it's not worth the headache of missing clothes and bad customer service. read more

i am a service member in the united states marine corps, i have used and been to several dry cleaners through out the united states. but zip dry cleaners, more specifically the zips located in laurel md, has topped all other dry cleaners i have used by far. i recently had an incident with several of my military uniforms, i rushed them to zips and with the staff and managment, they immediately jumped on the situation and began to see what they could restore. the staff not only took care of the situation, but were very kind and understanding to the problem at hand. the managment there was what really impressed me. she took great care of my uniforms, understanding that they had meaning and pride behind them, she realy showed that it was no longer about dry cleaning, but that it was the pride in the uniforms that she wanted to resore. being a united states marine, i felt the need to write and share with others that zips has not only great managment, but staff that really care about their customers, i have, and i continue to recommend zips cleaners to not only my fellow service members, but anyone that i know uses dry cleaning on a regular basis. highly recommended, and a dry cleaning company that i will continue to use!! thanks! read more
