Zippy is amazing! He is highly professional and prompt to respond to emails and questions. Even before we met, I had no doubts that I had made the right choice by hiring him for my son's 5th birthday party. He arrived on time and looked professional (actually he arrived 15 minutes early in order to prepare his 'balloon station'). He set up a nice table with awesome visual displays. The kids loved seeing all of their options laid out in front of them like a balloon animal 'menu'. And his display showed only a tiny fraction of what Zippy could do! The kids swarmed him as soon as he was set up and I didn't see a single unhappy "customer". You honestly have to see this guy in action to believe it. The kids weren't walking away with wimpy swords or flimsy poodles. I-kid-you-not, I saw a Spider-Man shooting a twisty web, a monkey climbing a tree with bananas on it, an alien riding a motorcycle, and even a Despicable Me Minion (for my youngest kiddo, Milo). He was great with all the kids; patient, calm and kind. I actually overheard three kids tell their moms they wanted him for their next birthday party! There wasn't a lull in 'customers' for Zippy the entire time he was at the party; there was always a kid (or adult!) patiently waiting for him to twist up something awesome. I would also like to mention that Zippy made more balloon 'things' in 1.5 hours than I could've ever imagined or hoped for! Most kids left with at least one giant trash bag full of crazy, cool balloon creations (some with two or more!). Zippy exceeded my expectations in every way. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation! And for any event! (I've never seen so many adults smiling over balloon animals! Ha!) Zippy is a wonderful entertainer for all events and all ages! He was outstanding and able to make around 30 plus intricate balloon creations in an hour while keeping all of the 3year olds entertained. It was so exciting and enjoyable (even for the teachers) and the children could not have been happier with their balloons! He gets 2 stars because the kids loved the balloons. He was walking around chik-fil-a today, kind of one of those "tip what you can" things. No pressure, right? He made it seem like no big deal, like he wasn't expecting a lot. We even said he could just go to another table, but it seemed like he wanted to do it. He made something for each of our kids, and they were so happy with their balloons. Then came the awkward moment when he was done, trying to figure out how much to pay (tip). We didn't have any cash, so he said we could use a card. When my wife asked if 5 bucks was okay he said, "that's actually an insult..." like he was all offended we didn't appreciate his masterpieces. Pretty rude. So we just said nevermind and left. The balloons were very cool, don't get me wrong, but I don't know what he's expecting to get soliciting random families at chik-fil-a. I attended a religious event this past Sunday where Zippy was one of the many Childrens entertainment and while the balloons were amazing and fast delivered, Zippy was a bit unprofessional at the end. When it was time for him to end he announced to the children "My time is up, they only paid me until 12 - unless your parents want to pay me my hourly rate" He did do a few extra as a "courtesy" but just kept saying my time is up unless your parents want to pay my hourly rate! A parent came up and pointed out that his daughter had been waiting and he said to the dad I gotta go, unless she wants to pay my hourly rate and the dad said to Zippy, but she doesn't have a job, Zippy replied, no but you do! I was so stunned at his behavior I took one of his business cards off the table so that I could post this info on yelp. I also advised the person in charge at the event of his unprofessional behavior and found out that I wasn't alone, others attended the event had advised them of his behavior as well. read more
