We stayed in the preserve cabin suite it was great! The view from the cabin was beautiful and overlooked the property. The cabin was also very clean! I would recommend bringing some dvds because I wasn't able to stream anything except YouTube. The Cabin did include free WiFi. But there was a blue ray dvd player in the room. The sunrise, sunset and stars at night were amazing! There is also a separate shower, I just didn't get a picture of it. The room also had a sink in the dining area and a good sized mini fridge, coffee machine and microwave. Our first night there we did the sunset horse ride with Madison. Madison was excellent!! I was really nervous about getting on the horse and she helped me out and was attentive and informative during our ride. She was very personable, knowledgeable and fun! The views on the ride were incredible. If I could've, I would've done it every day we were there! ZMR is located just outside of Zion and it was a very short drive to get to the park and hiking trails. It was nice and peaceful. Not overcrowded even though it seemed like every cabin had a resident. read more

This made the perfect family reunion spot for the one week I was over there a while ago! It was soooo much fun and the scenery around the cabins was amazing! I couldn't stop taking pictures with my camera around the cabins! Horseback riding was fun too! I went horseback riding and I went on a wagon ride in the back of a truck to go see the bison up close. It was soooo amazing! This was the best family reunion ever! It was a long road trip to get there and back but OMG it was soooo worth it! The location is perfect for local sight seeing and traveling to the near by national parks. The cabin we stayed in was clean, spacious and overlooked the bison pasture. ***this is strictly for the bison tour*** My husband and I just finished a bison tour at 4pm today with Chris as our guide and a female guide. It was quite the experience to say the least. It was incredible to witness the bison that closely and safely. Thank you for providing that for the community. However, our tour guide Chris was spreading some extremely negative and racist information about the Native community specifically Navajos on our tour. Being Navajo myself, I was shocked and disappointed in his comfortability with such false statements. I did mention that his information was false and I was Navajo and he completely ignored me. I think it's important to make sure the guides are sharing ACTUAL truths and not personal racists opinions. The female tour guide however was very knowledgeable, kind and answered any questions us or surroundings parties had. Please hire more guides like her and less like Chris. read more

The cabin was in disrepair and was dirty. We rented the "Rim Cabin" for the view and the privacy. The Tub bottom was cracked in 3 places and unusable. The mini fridge had broken shelves and no door on the freezer sections...so in the middle of the night our soda cans froze and exploded. The most disappointing part was the general unclean state of the cabin. There was a lot of dust over every surface, cobwebs all over (including the shower ceiling), mystery stain on the comforter for the bed, dirty shower, long dark hair in the sink and on the bed pillow and crumbs on every surface. We talked to staff the first day we arrived and the second day when we checked out. They were kind and listened and said they would look into a discount for us. I received a text from the ranch with a survey and when I rated it a "3", they said they would forward my concerns to management. It's been a week and no one has reached out and no discount was given. Overall, very disappointed with the room and the lack of contact from the Ranch. I wont be back and would not recommend staying there. read more

Stayed two nights recently in cabin 155. The cabin was cute, but did need some maintenance. The tiles near the toilet are loose/feel like they sink in when you go to use the restroom. The towel rack was loose and starting to come off the wall. There were lots of chipped pain marks in the room. Bedding probably needed to be refreshed as the duvet cover had a stain on it. Overall though, it was a quaint setting, and the views are incredible. The gift shop up front has lots of cute items and they have a spot where you can book some activities. We did the sunset horseback ride and the stargazing, but stargazing got canceled due to cloudy weather moving in. The dogs and livestock outside were super cute. The dogs are proper guard dogs, but also love getting pet and were friendly. They roamed the cabins in the evenings and we often saw them roaming the grounds in the distance. It was pretty affordable compared to some of the places in Springdale, so overall I liked the experience. Just needed some tlc in the cabin itself. read more

This place is everything!! It sits on a beautiful quiet ranch just 5 minutes from the east entrance of Zion National Park. (East entrance of Zion is about 30-35 minutes from the classic hikes you think of with Zion such as Angel's landing and the Narrows just FYI.) First - the staff. The staff is awesome. They are the same people running the front office, restaurant, etc. they are super friendly and accommodating to make your stay as pleasant as possible. They could have a few more flyers about hikes, but overall had everything you needed to know. Very very nice people... I was happy Location - located 5 minutes from EAST Zion entrance - this is 30-35 minutes East from Springdale where you catch shuttles to go into the park. There is plenty to do on the east side though!!! Absolutely beautiful hikes everywhere - Many Pools, Canyon Overlook Trail, Cable Mountain, East Mesa Trail that goes to Observation point (a must do), and it's also close to Bryce national park if you'd like to check that out (1 hr 15 min drive). There are not many restaurants around but the rooms have mini kitchens so I recommend getting a few groceries and then do dinner at the Cordwood restaurant or go into Springdale or Orderville Room - clean, cozy, cabin. Everything you want. Our cabin had 2 king size beds, table, TV with DVD player and Netflix/amazon access, bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Beautiful front porch with front porch rocker swing. Loved it all no complaints. Room overlooked the bison range. Stunning. The one drawback is the shower didn't drain well. Amenities - there is a wonderful farm to table restaurant on the property called Cordwood. Definitely go there. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are "ranch dogs" aka the cutest fluffiest white pyrenese dogs, miniature horses, chickens, horses, and bison. There are horseback rides and guided hikes/excursions through East Zion Adventures (picks you up at the ranch). Bonfire at 7 pm every night and you can bring s'mores supplies or purchase at front desk. You can "rent" dvds for free. They have a nice selection. Overall - this is a great place to unwind after a long day of adventuring. It is calm and peaceful. You meet friendly people and just feel at ease. Great place to reconnect with your loved ones and disconnect from your phone. I love this place and would definitely come back! read more

Our family of 23, recently spent 4 nights at Zion Mountain Ranch. Our lodging, with master bedrooms, a bunk room, and another bedroom, washer and dryer, kitchen and two living areas was perfect for our extended family. There was a large fire pit outside where we spent each evening gathered as a family. Close by was a small pond with canoes and a rope swing which allowed the brave-hearted to swing out over the water and drop into the pond with a huge splash! The distance to Zion National Park was so short, that we could make multiple trips, daily into the park to take advantage of cool mornings and evenings. There are also many adventures outside of the Park for which the staff will be happy to provide you with directions. Our group found the staff to be accommodating and helpful. We definitely plan to stay at Zion Mountain Ranch again. read more

Had they made good on their promise that buffalo would actually be out grazing during our stay at the pasture-front cabin we booked, I wouldn't have minded paying $2500 for a 3-night stay. We booked ZMR SPECIFICALLY for the buffalo experience. But the moment we checked in, we were told it was mating season and the bulls were too "frisky" to be out in the pasture, so they moved the herd someplace down the road. They also claimed that a couple of the males had broken a few fence poles. We saw neither broken fence poles nor any workmen during our 3-day stay. For sure, paying $2,500 for 3 nights in Cabin 156 -- WITHOUT buffaloes -- is absolute robbery. The cabin is furnished like a frat house, with mismatched draperies, second-hand furniture, and walls in disrepair. The utensils in the kitchen were thrift-store quality, and the bath/shower was so unappealing we didn't want to use it. It is outrageous and unreasonable that they provide such poor quality accommodations. Oh, and they removed the wall thermostats so what you get is what you get temperature-wise. Again, had the buffalo been there, we would have overlooked everything else. And since they know they don't put the buffaloes out during mating season, they should have told me at booking. It's a buffalo farm; they know the buffalo's cycles. Failure to disclose that information, and instead promising a unique experience -- and charging for it -- is fraudulent. Although the location is quiet and off the beaten path, I feel completely taken advantage of by ZMR. Patrons beware. read more

This was such a fun and scenic stay! The ranch sits just outside the entrance to Zion National Park. The cabin was very clean and spacious. They have buffalo roaming around the property along with horses. We did the horseback trip and had a great time. The restaurant is good but a little pricey for the options. Highly recommend a stay at this beautiful ranch! We spent 5 nights in their preserve cabin. It was one of their smaller cabins but still had a microwave, mini fridge & small coffee maker with comfortable beds and most importantly in this heat - air conditioning! It truly was a wonderful place to call our home base while exploring Zion and Bryce Canyon. The ranch itself was active with baby bison, horses, chickens and rabbits that we were able to pet and spend time with, not to mention the herd of bison that came grazing along the fence line. We stayed here on a family trip. Seems like the reviews will vary greatly depending on which lodge/cabin you choose. Our lodge had 2 primary bedrooms and 2 bedrooms with bunk beds in the main house. It also had a little in-law cabin in the back with its own bathroom and closet. This was plenty of space for us. Pros: - our lodge was renovated with a more modern look - The kitchen was upgraded with an induction stove - the bathrooms looked clean and modern with a beautiful tub - laundry machine and dryer! So helpful for after a hike. - helpful and friendly maintenance staff. They came by to bring firewood and were always friendly. Cons: - the water smelled off to me. Almost like gym socks or sewage. This was highly concerning to me. - very dusty. If you have allergies, you will probably have a rough time. - no tint on windows. There are windows by the tubs, but if you want to draw a bath while enjoying the view, anyone walking outside can see in crystal clear. - no housekeeping or trash pickup. For a multi-day stay, especially when you're cooking all meals in-house, trash gets generated fast. No one came by to pick it up, so we put trash bags outside. It would be helpful if there was a trash can of some sort. read more

They dont wear masks or socially distance here, so we chose to hang out on the ranch when it was empty as plenty of families hang out around the fire pit. Extremely disappointing experience so far. We had booked a chalet with 2 bedrooms and jetted tub, wifi, and a balcony for star gazing and were checked into a cabin with 1 bedroom, no jetted tub and no balcony and no wifi . Mind you .... we were charged for a chalet !! Everything is closed after 10 pm including no one answering even the phones after hours so now we can't even reach anyone to fix it .God forbid if you run into any problems after 10 pm . If you want to truly stop and soak up some beautiful mother nature you need to go here. It is stunning and the wide-open space here is something every soul needs more of. The whole place is incredible. From the animals to the plants, the incredible sky and the folks who work here. The restaurant is delicious, and the wine is excellent. Not rushed at all. Bring a flashlight for the walk back to your cabin ;) The only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 is the rooms do need some attention. The bed creeks, the floor creeks a lot and that can easily be remedied. The coffee maker was broken so a few details that should be expected were not there during our visit. This is where they could improve a lot. Close to Zion entrance, I would definitely revisit. read more

They let you wander around the property which is full of fun and beautiful things! The Shetland ponies were the cutest ever! I was very much impressed by the greenhouse on their grounds. We stayed 5 nights at Zion Mountain Ranch as there were no available hotel rooms in Springdale. You cannot beat the setting! It is a tranquil getaway from the crowds at the national parks. The rolling hills and charming cottages were just what the doctor ordered. We also knew that the cabins were on a ranch so the setting is rustic. But we expected a well maintained cabin for the price we paid. The railings on our outside porches were loose, as were the faucets in the kitchen and shower. We had big holes where the Sheetrock was missing from the corners of the walls. This must have been where other guests banged chairs and suitcases into the corners. The housekeeping crew was not the best, and the property seemed unkempt and lacking in overall maintenance. The three stars for our rating is because we did complain to management and received a partial refund. read more

We had enough space, the weather was perfect and the staff was very helpful. Horse trail ride was amazing and so much fun. VERY strong SEPTIC / SEWAGE smell in the bathrooms AND bedrooms. Toxic and very unpleasant to say the least!!! The only place I cited buffalo was on the menu. Heartbreaking. FREEZING cold bathrooms. (There's 3 mini splits for heat but nothing in the bathrooms which are freezing cold, literally, because you want to try to close the door to keep the septic smell out of the bedroom. 1 remote is missing.) No walkway lighting. Front desk person wanted money upfront in full. Did not offer to show us where the cabin after dark and it was difficult to find because the 8 was damaged and the 8 looked like a 9. Did not have/offer any information on exploring the area. Fan in master bathroom does not work. Sauna did not work. I was told there would be bathtubs with jets, but they only have a plug-in machine that puts little bubbles in tub. 1970's electric cooktop was so old we didn't even try to use it. Kitchen faucet was not together correctly. You had to move the handle behind the faucet to move it to hot water. Never saw a laundry machine. Furniture was so old that some of it was partially falling over. You wouldn't want to hang out or relax there. Lumpy mattress. Couldn't get the TV to work. Bedding: there is only a sheet and comforter. No good blankets. Duvet was made from animal skin (not Vegan friendly). I selected this hotel for the view which did not disappoint if you get the right cabin, And also for the vegan option meals in the restaurant that are supplemented with the organic garden. There was a little bit of arugula and a couple of sprouts, but that was about it. I was mostly excited to see Buffalo roaming on the range outside of my window but I was on the other side and when I saw Buffalo on the menu it was heartbreaking. read more

There is no better family vacation spot! We never pass Zion without staying here with our three kids. From the beautiful ranch dogs, Rex and Emerald, to the chickens and mini ponies to the big horses and the bison, our kids can't get enough (and neither can we!). Everyone is so kind there as well. We were only swinging through this time but Kyle and his family indulged us in a quick horseback ride and were so patient while the kids got the courage up (or didn't!). We also had a delicious dinner at Cordwood (the restaurant) and, when my daughter declared that they had the best mac and cheese she had ever had, Clark, the chef, quietly came back with a bowl, some flour and an egg and showed her how to make homemade pasta. Every single experience we have here is always a 10/10. It was also such a treat to meet Rusty, who has been there for ages and felt like he'd walked straight out of Lonesome Dove. Unfortunately, I can't so here we go! 1) for those complaining about TV's & their DVD players- if you stay here to watch TV like a lazy slob this isn't the place for you! In ZMR's defense our TV was a flatscreen, worked & they offered 100's of DVD's but because our family was out exploring & the outdoors we didn't utilize that amenity. 2) you are disappointed w the "mask policy"?! STAY HOME & educate yourself on covid- thanks! 3) our linens were CLEAN, cabin CLEAN, housekeeping GREAT!, food= delicious, staff is kind 4) this ranch is NOT part of the park!! If you stay here w specific plans in mind that is YOUR responsibility to research traffic, location, construction & trails that are open/closed! We all have access to google! It's not difficult. The ranch isn't your personal tour guide although I'm sure you can arrange for one w a huge fee 5) you didn't see the buffalo?? Nobody promised you anything. They're free & wild animals w plenty of land to roam. Personally we saw them everyday we were here. ZMR has numerous dogs on property, bunnies, chickens, horses, gardens & games. 6) some reviews mentioned issues w WiFi- we didn't experience problems but I wouldn't be surprised if there were. We are in the middle of nowhere at a buffalo ranch! This is one of the most beautiful ranches I've ever stayed on! Whether you're here for a family getaway or a couples weekend you'll fall in love. The cabins are very well cared for and comfortable. The views are stunning. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. The baby bison are adorable and the ranch dogs are sweet as can be. We enjoyed the campfire and roasted marshmallows after an afternoon rain. I am definitely coming back to visit this treasure again. Stayed at ZMR for my wedding in Cabin 130 for 3 nights. This place is EVERYTHING. The hospitality from the staff is unimaginable, and the cleanliness is beyond expectation. We ate at The Cordwood several times, including the night of the wedding. Perfectly charming restaurant, which was very accommodating to our party of 11. We loved this place and wish we could have stayed longer. We were there in late June 2020 and we got a one bedroom cabin with a full bath and a little kitchenette space. It came with a DVD player that had a movie left in it which was perfect since we always fall asleep with the tv on so we were able to pop it on to sleep. The bed was very comfortable and my husband really took full advantage of reading on the porch with the beautiful view. When we walked to the main lodge area there were animals around and yard games. The shop had a bunch of super cute items. We ate breakfast at the restaurant and services was extremely slow, although it seemed they only had one person working the kitchen and a few groups getting food. That said the food was delish and we sat outside while we ate and it was so beautiful outside it made the wait more bearable. read more

My family and I were looking for a pet-friendly experience near Zion and came across The Zion Mountain Ranch ( It was the buffalos that attracted me at first, but sadly they were hiding ). Check-in was easy, we did get a little lost looking for our cabin, and the directions on the fireplace were a bit confusing, but they sent someone up to light it for us! The food was GREAT ( my 14-year grandniece didn't like the fancy food, only the pancakes breakfast) And oh my god those pancakes! TRY THEM! The animals on the ranch are friendly and adorable, the bonfire after dinner with Smores was wonderful, and looking up at the stars was awe-inspiring! ( I live in a big city and we never see stars). The cabins are delightful! I t was great to sleep in a king-size bed ( although a little firm for my taste, they had the most comfortable pillows and comforters!) The porch with the rocking chair was relaxing, and the snow on the ground everywhere was a nice surprise! Check out was easy and such a short drive into Zion National Park and not far of a drive to Bryce Canyon.
