Ask the Community - Zion Fit Whittier

What are their fees per class? Is this pay as you go? Month to month?

It's about $100 a month for unlimited group classes. They're going through some changes right now but I believe if you decide to only go perhaps three days a week it's approximately $65-$70 a month, they also provide one on one sessions and I'm…

ZERO GIVENS WHITTIER -- BOOTY CLASS WITH KRISTIN…read more I honestly LOVE EVERYTHING about this class! Kristin is absolutely amazing! Her energy and motivation are unmatched, and she has a way of making you feel comfortable, supported, and excited to keep pushing yourself. She helps you with your form, makes sure you're doing the exercises correctly, and motivates you every step of the way. She is SO motivational that giving up is ABSOLUTELY NOT an option! One of my favorite things about this class is the atmosphere. All the ladies are at different fitness levels, but everyone makes you feel welcomed and encouraged. Instead of feeling intimidated, you feel inspired to keep working, get stronger, and reach that next level yourself. There's something so empowering about being surrounded by women who are all showing up for themselves and putting in the work! Kristin makes this class so much more than just a workout. She makes you WANT to come back, challenge yourself, and see what you're capable of. I leave feeling accomplished, motivated, and already wishing I could do this class every single day! If you're thinking about trying ZERO GIVENS WHITTIER, DO IT!! And if you can take Kristin's BOOTY CLASS, DO NOT MISS IT! You will feel welcomed, encouraged, and pushed in the best possible way. Absolutely LOVE this class and the community!

The classes are never boring, challenge you, and the teachers hold you accountable, all in their own way. I've been getting 1:1 sessions with Juden as well and it's helped my confidence (let's be real, a lifelong project) and form. I never thought I could lift the way I do at Zero Givens. We're all met where we're at and there's always something new going on. This old timer won't be stopping anytime soon.

Overall, EOS Fitness in Whittier is a decent gym that gets the job done, but there are definitely…read moresome things that could be improved. The staff can be welcoming and helpful, but depending on the day, they can also come across as less friendly or approachable. My bigger issue, though, is the gym etiquette from some of the members. I notice a lot of people don't wipe down their sweat after using benches or equipment, and some don't rerack their weights when they're finished. There was actually one situation where a guy finished his workout, left the bench covered in his sweat, and walked away. I politely asked him, "Hey, are you done with this?" He just stared at me and walked away without saying anything or wiping down the bench. Like, come on, dude. Talk about being a jerk. It takes a few seconds to wipe down the equipment after you're done using it. I also wish people were more aware of their surroundings when recording themselves. If you're filming a workout, that's fine, but getting annoyed because someone happens to walk behind you or needs to walk through the area to rerack weights is unnecessary. The gym is a shared space, not a personal studio. Be aware that other people are trying to work out too. Another major issue is how overcrowded it can get, especially around 4:00 a.m. I'm sometimes like, "Damn, it's this crowded already?" The gym has a lot of equipment, but when it's packed, getting to the equipment or dumbbells you actually want can feel like navigating an obstacle course. You might have to go around multiple people, benches, machines, or weights just to get to the equipment you're trying to use. That being said, I do like the gym overall. It has plenty of equipment and it gets the job done. I just think better gym etiquette from members, a little more awareness when filming, and better management of the crowded areas would make the experience much better.

Let me start by saying this: I never write Yelp reviews. I'm honestly lazy when it comes to things…read morelike this, but today's experience at CrossFit Whittier was good enough to make me sit down and write one. I normally train six days a week at la fitness, I have a coach and a nutrition plan, but I always work out alone. Lately, I've felt like my training just isn't enough, especially as I prepare for LAPD. Yesterday during lapd training, we all got smoked. It was embarrassing and a big wake up call, that we're not as prepared as we think we are. This morning, I woke up around 8:30 AM planning my usual long training day, but my gym closed early for the holiday, which frustrated me. Another cadet had told me before, "You should try CrossFit," but she was in last place during our run, so I brushed it off. But after talking to more people, I realized maybe she was right, maybe CrossFit is exactly what we need to improve our conditioning, especially running, which is one of my biggest weaknesses. So I decided to call CrossFit Whittier. Steven picked up. I explained my goals and what I'm preparing for. He didn't try to sell me anything, didn't pressure me, didn't hit me with "you need to sign up first" he simply said, "Come check it out. Come get a workout for free." I showed up, introduced myself, and he showed me around. He put me through a workout, and honestly? It wasn't enough for me, I wanted more. So he gave me an extra workout to do, even though it was Thanksgiving and even though the gym was technically closed. That small extra session kicked my butt in the best way possible and made me realize I was in the right place. What stood out to me the most was that he didn't rush me, didn't send me home, and didn't act like his time was more important. He stayed with me to make sure I was doing the movements correctly. No other business owner would have done that on a holiday. He also gave me a law enforcement discount, which I truly appreciated. I left feeling grateful, motivated, and honestly excited to come back. I'm looking forward to training here every day, getting to know everyone, helping where I can, and pushing myself to be better. Even though today was my first day, this review should show you that the experience was meaningful enough for me to write all this. If one day was this good, I can only imagine what the rest is going to be like. The short workout I did here was already better and more humbling than anything I've done recently at my regular gym. I absolutely recommend CrossFit Whittier to anyone, especially if you're preparing for law enforcement, military, or simply looking to push your limits the right way.

Fast forward to the day I decided I wanted to take charge of my life again, I decided to call FBBC. No one answered. Then I called this place and 3 minutes before closing time, they still answered the phone after 1-2 rings. I was greeted by the owner, Nick, and when I inquired, he told me about their upcoming 21-day challenge. He was patient and kind enough to explain to me how it works, what's the goal and outcome, and what I can get out of it. I signed up with my husband and I was so nervous on my first day. However, as soon as you walk in, there is an immediate sense of community and camaraderie. We both felt at home because of how warm and welcoming everyone was - coaches, front desk staff, and campers itself. I love how your goal is also their goal. Their care doesn't stop once you've signed up. It goes beyond the warm greetings before and after class. They would correct your form during workout sessions, check in on you about your progress and/or struggles, motivate you to work harder, and make sure to address any questions that you may have. Since joining, my husband and I have lost 10lbs and 6lbs respectively. I love how this works as long as you're committed and consistent. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a change, a community, and overall health improvement.

As someone who had never been to a personal training only gym, it felt intimidating but I quickly seen that all are welcomed, from retired body builders to people knocking on my 600-lb life's door. He has helped me achieve what even I thought was not possible, not only made me believe in myself but has opened the door to a new lifestyle. His workouts challenge and motivate me, while giving me just the right amount of recovery. I like how Tai checks in with me prior to each workout, he is very conscious of working around both old/new injuries adjusting/substituting workouts that are equally effective to gain results - checking in daily allows him to make those adjustments. The gym has various trainers(both male and female) who although, I don't train with them, are very welcoming and helpful. The gym offers various dietary supplements designed to boast energy, focus, endurance, and performance during exercise. It is also connected to a local chef who offers and delivers delicious meal preps at a great price, most of all, I like that he offers but isn't pushy to sell you anything. To think that I had told myself that I would try it out for 3 months and here I am over a year later, having gone from 203lbs to 169lbs, I can truly say I will forever be grateful for my Xtrength Fitness family.
