The EOS gym in Whittier is phenomenal. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a smile and friendly, professional staff. I primarily come to this location because I value a well-maintained, clean pool and this pool consistently delivers. It's always clean, clear, and well cared for, which makes swimming here a great experience. The locker rooms and showers are also consistently clean and properly maintained. Early on, I did have a concern about members taking photos and videos in the locker room while others were changing. However, management addressed the issue by posting visible signage on the mirrors, and it has made a noticeable improvement. Anytime I've brought up a concern, the staff has been responsive, respectful, and quick to take action. That level of professionalism goes a long way. I've been coming here for over a year after having a bad experience at another gym with poor pool conditions, and this location has been consistently reliable. My only downside is the distance I drive about 10 miles one way just to work out and use the pool. That alone should say how much I value this gym. If I lived closer, I'd be here even more often. I signed up hoping for a solid gym experience, but the reality didn't match what was presented. The gym is consistently overcrowded, no matter what time you go. Getting access to basic equipment is a struggle, and the "bring a friend" perk only adds to the congestion. It's hard to get through a workout without long waits. I also wasn't offered any type of trial period before signing up. If I had been, I would've realized the environment wasn't a good fit and avoided this situation altogether. Because of all this, I requested to cancel my membership and asked for the cancellation fee to be waived. The conditions didn't reflect what was advertised, and the lack of a trial made it impossible to make an informed decision. I really try my best not to write negative reviews but sometimes it can't be helped. I am writing this in hopes things will change for the better or another person will find this experience useful. I came in telling the membership advisor that I would be at a different location (B) for a couple of months due to work and would like to have access to a gym. The other location (B) would be temporary due to work and would want access there. I did not want to commit to the multiple location membership due to the prices and preferred the single location membership. They (membership advisor and manager) told me that I can just sign up today under them and then transfer to B especially since its their last day for the "Easter deal". Feeling pressured especially under their confidence that I can transfer my membership to location B, I decided to sign up. I didn't feel too good about this so the next day, I decided to call location B and was told that they do not allow memberships to be transferred to their location. Immediately I called to cancel my membership since I am currently within the right of Rescission period. I am awaiting an email response but felt like I needed to write this review in the meantime. This club opened almost a year late, and now they're setting the daycare after only being opened for a few years. For more personal training? Multiple parents reached out to this company with no response and also had left reviews with no response. They do not value the working parent that pays their money for their kids to come to the daycare so I will not be recommending anyone here and canceling the membership this month. They expect families to travel 45+ minutes out of their way to their other locations that have a daycare. Plus these girls are so good with all the kids should've kept some type of family value to their club. They are also promoting getting a plushy for a good review on yelp so if you see any reviews that are good, most likely bribed for a T-shirt or some type of something. They are looking just to accommodate single people and high schoolers so a lot of the people that come here to work out, but also check out People another reason why it's so packed. From the phantom GM to the unprofessional female PT who doesn't respect the word 'No' to the overall incompetence of the staff, I am shocked at what I witnessed here! I'm someone who converted from Planet Fitness after being with them for 4 years on and off, and I'm glad I chose EōS. I dreaded hearing that parking was awful, but so far, the only place that was bad was Whittier. Hawaiian Gardens and Fullerton always has spots. On a whim, I decided to sign up for a personal trainer. I think the design is a lot more sophisticated than other gyms I've visited like LA/Esporta, 24, Crunch, etc. I realized that maybe I should have researched the Lux locations first. The biggest difference I noticed between EōS and the others is that it's super crowded to the point and it gets really muggy. Maybe it's popular or I'm just out of shape, but it feels like lukewarm sauna room temperature at times. I wish they would blast the overhead fans or install some air purifiers in there. Apart from that, their amenities are pretty neat. Unlike Planet, you don't have to talk to an employee or reserve a time. The group classes, towel service (extra), and the pool are also cool things they offer. It feels more advanced in some ways because they have the cryotherapy, massage chairs, and the theater. I would highly suggest scrutinizing the contract, but it is mostly worth the price. I love my trainer (Diana!) so far, and I feel like it's definitely helped me with gym anxiety. read more

Extremely disappointed in this gym. They're closing the Kids Club without any proper warning. My kids have been coming to kids club for 2 years now, 5 days a week. They do not care about their employees leaving them with no options. I will be canceling my membership and finding another gym with a kids club. ALL the girls in Kids Club have been excellent with my kids. My children looked forward to coming here and are heartbroken they have to leave what they're used to. EoS-Whittier is my home gym during the work week. After trying out several different EoS locations, this is definitely 1 of 2 of my favorites. The facility is clean, love the machines & amenities available, and staff are nice (most of them). I don't normally go here on Sundays. There aren't as many people on Sundays as there are during weekdays. Weekdays, it gets pretty busy. The wipes dispenser by the leg extension machine is still broken before I went on vacation, it'd be nice if that got fixed. There's day care but take note that they are CLOSED on Sundays!! There's a pool & jacuzzi as well as a dry sauna which is super relaxing after a great workout (love this). There's also a basketball court (an amenity other EoS locations do not have). Idc about the 2.5 stars. If y'all been to the other locations, you'd absolutely appreciate this one!! Overall, I love this location. Brought my hubby here today and he agrees it's one of the nicer EoS locations. Our favorite activity together is to work out at the gym (which ended up being a 3 hour gym workout lol)!! read more

Samuel "manager" was not so helpful I was questioning my free 3 months I am supposed to be rewarded due to the fact that I referred two people to this gym and he had the audacity to tell me that the people that I prefer canceled their memberships, which is false and he was saying that there's no way that he can go back and put their names on my account stating that I referred them I spoke to another employee who was not a manager, and he kindly told me to speak to the main manager, and that it is possible to add my referrals. It's like they are only tailoring the gym to all the high schoolers who crowd the machines. 4-6 26 night crew working in the front desk are very lazy rather be on their phone than actually clean the place up went to the men's restroom. First time here they charge me $20 to work out at their gym. Weights on the floor mess everywhere. Literally restroom had a pee on the toilet seat seats on the toilet floor. Urinals didn't work. There was a toilet over flooded this place was absolutely fucking nasty. Last time I ever come try a new gym will never get EOS. Closing the Kids Club with no heads up is a slap in the face to parents who have been members since the beginning. This was the only thing that made EOS Whittier different from every other gym. Now that the gym is popular, they're kicking parents to the curb just to make more room, and the women who watched our kids are being let go without any security. I do not regularly come to this gym because of its parking situation but as my rest day I wanted to take a cycling class; with Victoria Perez ; which was at 1145; the instructor didn't show up and didn't give a heads up to anyone which is unprofessional ; instructors should be here 10 minutes before class in my personal & professional opinion. Last minute emergencies are fine but when you don't have the common courtesy to inform your employers that is irresponsible. 1 Star Review I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at EōS Fitness that I feel needs to be shared. On February 19, I was at the gym assisting a friend's son when I was approached and confronted by another member. The situation escalated due to that individual, not me. Despite this, I was never asked for my side of the story, never contacted by management, and never given an opportunity to explain what actually happened. Instead, my membership was canceled without warning, explanation, or any form of due process. What makes this even more troubling is that this was not an isolated incident. I have experienced what I believe to be racial profiling and discriminatory treatment at this location on multiple occasions. These concerns were never properly addressed, and no action was taken despite repeated issues. There were multiple witnesses to the February 26 incident who can confirm that I did not initiate the altercation and that I was not behaving aggressively. The fact that a decision was made without reviewing evidence or speaking to those involved raises serious concerns about how situations like this are handled. I expected professionalism, fairness, and basic communication. Instead, I was treated in a way that felt dismissive and unjust. I am currently seeking further action regarding this matter. I would strongly encourage management to review their policies, staff training, and how they handle conflicts--because no member should be treated this way. read more

My nightmare experience is for allowing Vinny that store manager to sell me into personal training. Don't do it, not worth it. Horrible experience, I tried Veronica and she gave me rude service. Tried another trainer and it was awkward also. Didn't even show me what I wanted to learn. Not worth it. Got charged for sessions I never even did because there was no trainers available for the time I needed to workout. UPDATE: be mindful when switching from personal to family. VINNY AGAIN, screwed me over. He didn't desactive my personal account. Charged me a total of three annual fees on personal account. Got so many unnecessary charges. Always be checking your account. They had the best employees watching our kids, we paid the additional cost for that faithfully because of how happy our child was to go each time. Great and Busy gym. This location is spot on with being clean and everything is always working/gets fixed quickly. It is a very busy gym but because it is so good. This location has a lot of machines and their sauna is always working and the massage chairs are amazing. Locker rooms are always clean as well. The staff here is incredible never had a bad experience with anyone. Even with any questions they are so nice and helpful. Parking is great because the center is big with multiple stores and lots of parking! Recommend this gym/location. read more

Do not recommend personal training. It was a nightmare to get out of and they were still charging me for sessions I couldn't use because I didn't have a trainer. Sessions accumulated and they wouldn't let me cancel until all the sessions were used. During all of this, was still being charged so even more sessions, I didn't want, were being added. Even though I kept asking to cancel. In the end I just had to schedule multiple sessions and cancel so I could stop paying the $300 every two weeks. read more

Although this is a new gym (opened within the year) it gets very busy, always something going on, no matter what time of day it's pretty packed. The a.m's are busy with working gym rats and trainers, noon not sooo bad but still busy, if it's your first time get ready for a bunch of cliques that will hog a machine or weights. It can be a bit intimidating at first so plan ahead with your workout and be open to using different machines. Keep your head up and do you! You deserve to be there like everyone else! The only downside is that the members don't take pride in their gym, leaving paper towels everywhere, not re-racking weights, or cleaning and sanitizing the machines after use and taking extra time on the machines. If you live in the area and are considering joining this gym do yourself a favor and consider a 5-7 day pass and give La Fitness just 5 mins away a try. I like the gym and the swimming pool and the group lessons, that's why there are 2 stars. The equipments are nice and mostly up to date. The pool and sauna is one major reason why I come to this gym. And I really like the massage chairs in the recovery room. I would love to give it more stars but the gym can do with a bit more cleaning and tidying up. Also most of days the at least one massage chair is broken. I understand the high volume but this is a bit much... As for the other reason I'm removing starts: DO NOT get a trainer! Omg that deserves a negative star! Every session has been less than 20mins when it should be 30mins. No one seems to care to be on time and respect your time. You barely fit in like 3 things before they are done with you. They care very little about helping you get better and don't actually know all the correct postures and positions either. STAY AWAY from the one-on-one unless you have too much money to blow on worthless advices that can be found on YouTube for free! read more

The facility its self is wonderful, has good amenities, parking sucks, but facility is good However as far as management goes and just overall how the gym is being operated it needs improvement. I signed up for personal training sessions. Not explained properly you have to make 8 payments before you are able to cancel. Even if services are not rendered. I have paid about 6 of those payments with not even half of the training services. When I called to cancel I was told I was unable to do so till my 8th payment. But how can I continue to be charged if I have not even spoke to anyone regarding services being rendered? WhenI call or speak with management they dont care and keep saying the same thing. You can cancel till the 8th payment. I also have issues with the app and I called numerous times to fix it and get my bar code to log in to the app and I have yet to receive the correct bar code. At this point they sell you a dream of a well operated gym with exceptional customer service but after they receive your money, you are just another number to them and no longer provide the same customer service. I am beyond frustrated and annoyed at this point with the gym. I should have stayed with CHUZE. At least they had the same amenities and exceptional customer service even if it was further out for me. read more

This review is long over due, If I could give it zero stars I would. I have a whole list of reasons why this gym is bad. But I'll start where it really counts the manger name Vinny, at the time I'm not sure if he's there currently but he failed to get me my free year. I had gotten 5 sign ups for them not including even mine, and they had no way to give me my reward. Had no system, no logic. I let it go for months like alright they'll come around to it and give me my reward for getting 5 memberships to sign up at their gym. But nope, we had two meetings with him many calls and a lot of avoidance and I ended up just canceling my membership without ever getting my free year. Also it smells here all the time, the water leaks from the ceiling, it's dirty, and it's hard to find a cleaning station that is well stocked. The parking is horrible as well you'll be driving around for a good 15 mins to find a spot. This review may sound harsh but it's the truth. If you look at the review sections as of today 49% left a positive reviews, and 51% left a negative review. That's crazy work. You wouldn't eat at a place that had that sort of criticism so why take your health and fitness there. On a positive note, I'm currently very happy at planet fitness. The machine are working properly, there is no lines to wait to use a machine, it always clean and never smells. read more

The cleanliness and upkeep of this gym is horrific. The boards in the sauna have been giving away for a couple of months. It was only a matter of weeks before this was going to happen. They need to put a sign right over the hole. It's dark in there and when someone is sitting in front of the light they cast a shadow over the hole. Someone is going to get seriously hurt. Look at how dirty the floor is, and the trash that's left out. I know the clientele has a lot to do with it but I rarely see anyone cleaning this gym. They need a perpetual cleanup crew. The locker room and pool area are scummy everywhere. On the workout floor the equipment has a layer of dust building up on it. I've put in requests at the front desk to have the equipment cleaned better and it's only gotten worse. The gym is gorgeous and has an incredible layout, with lots of wonderful equipment. I love working out here but It's sad to see it deteriorating so quickly in filth. I'm hoping the dust will be taken care of in a week. If I could give zero stars, I would. The management on the personal training side is absolutely terrible and would benefit from proper customer service and professionalism training. I signed up for personal training but was later in a car accident that left me with a separated ACL and a bruised patella. I submitted a doctor's note requesting to end my training contract since I was physically unable to exercise. However, because the note wasn't worded exactly how they wanted, they refused to release me from the contract. When I tried to discuss the issue calmly and professionally, I was met with rudeness, no empathy, and zero effort to resolve the situation. The lack of care and accountability from management is unbelievable. As for the gym itself, it feels more like a social hangout than a fitness facility. Many people seem more focused on posting on Instagram than actually working out, taking up machines for long periods of time. And now, they're even allowing dogs in the gym--non-service animals--which is both unsanitary and unprofessional. Overall, extremely disappointing experience.
