Never tried a full Pilates class until I started going to LA Pilates Long Beach where I met Rocio who teaches the Tuesday and Thursday afternoon classes. Both my boyfriend and I are runners and we thought Pilates would be a good cross-training workout to compliment are running. Since I started going to Rocio's class, I have been able to properly execute the stretches my whole body definitely needed, especially on my hips and legs. Achilles tendinitis has been a concern for over a year now but with the exercises and tips Rocio has given me, I am now on my road to recovery. Her ab and booty exercises are killer but I have definitely seen a big improvement in my body. I feel like I am stronger and less prone to injury. I love her funny remarks during the class that keep my mind off the tough moves and repetitions. She's one of the reasons why I keep coming back for more. I highly recommend her! read more

I approached Rocio with the main goal to learn because I wanted to build foundational skills and knowledge to be able to implement routines on my own. I also wanted to make sure I was practicing proper form. I had no prior fitness experience. Rocio went above and beyond my expectations! Sessions were super personalized and Rocio really encourages communication between sessions and during sessions to make sure you are reaching your goals and getting the support you need. I felt so comfortable working with her and she helped me feel empowered and confident. I also appreciated that she would also challenge me with more advanced exercises that I would have never thought I could I do. She is knowledgeable, supportive, motivating, amazing, and the list goes on. I did a limited number of sessions with her before continuing on my own and I could not be have done it without her. read more

Today I had a painful Iliotibial (IT Band) she really helped me through the pain taking the time and assisted in loosening up the tightness my IT Band was tight and painful, but after Rocio showed me and helped me roll it out, while also providing a little physical therapy, I felt better. As the day progressed my leg continued to feel better, she also provided a few do at home rolling and stretching to help! I love Rocio! I've been taking her CardioSculpt reformer class at LA Pilates Fitness in Norwalk for a bit now, and I love it. For an hour, I get a total body workout that's cardio and toning...talk about killing two birds with one stone. I love that I can get a full workout immediately following a day at work and then be done for the day. Super convenient! Rocio is a fantastic instructor. She focuses on the HIIT style of training. She takes time to show the class the mechanics of each movement, while making the workout fun for everyone. She's super encouraging, and has great taste in music...she's got eclectic tastes, so there's music that will inspire everyone. I've had workouts from Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson vs. Prince, oldies, pop, rap, rock...it's all great. The music really makes the hour go by super fast! Rocio takes the time to share her experiences and really motivates every class. She's always willing to add on or customize a class based on requests. No class is ever the same, so your body parts are always being worked on. Her classes are often the best part of my day. read more

For years, off and on, I have looked into getting a personal trainer but I never pulled the trigger until now. I randomly did a Google search for personal trainers near me, and Rocio's site came up. I was super nervous, and honestly didn't know what to expect. But it's been 2 months now, and I'm still going! I feel much more energetic than when I started; in addition, I haven't had to use my inhaler at all since then. But what I like most is the personal care and attention Rocio gives. Going into this, I assumed I'd just do a pre-made set of exercises. But she actually tailors the sessions based on your needs. In fact, one week I casually made a remark that I had pain in my neck all week. And much to my surprise, she did stretches and exercises to relieve the pain! Sure enough within a day or two, the pain was gone! I can't say enough good things. She's personable, the workouts work (as evidenced by my sore muscles the next day), and most importantly she cares deeply about her clients' needs. read more

Rocio is amazing. She brings a kinetic energy that's fun, entertaining, and infectious into everything she does. The time appears to fly while under her tutelage. I can't wait till the next time I can improve myself with her help. read more

AMAZING workout today with Rocio!! I got lucky and was the only one that showed up for a 5am Pilates class. I'm a middle aged woman going through menopause that has arthritic pain in knees and shoulders from walking and working on a computer during the day. She worked with me to strengthen the muscles that support my knee and same with my shoulder. No joke the next day the pain is less and I am more agile. I can't speak enough about her knowledge for reducing injuries and exercise modifications due to an injured body part. She pumps you up during class with her energy and encouragement. Annnnd she has a kick ass playlist!! read more

I've been doing personal training with Rocio for just under two months now and I have loved every second! Rocio is an incredible and patient teacher, taking the time to talk to you about why the exercise you are doing is important and what muscle it is focusing on. I have never been one to enjoy working out, but Rocio has completely changed that with her fun energy and amazing sense of humor that help push me through the times where I want to quit. I can't say enough good things about Rocio, I would recommend her to anyone who will listen. Thank you for all that you so Rocio! read more

I've been doing my private training with Rocio for a while. Rocio is one of my favorite personal trainers and she's been training me for three times a week. I have noticed how I progressively keep the strong, and I never get bored because my private sessions are always different (she's super supportive and funny ;) but my goal is always there. She keeps me motivated, and that helps me to keep going. During these times where Covid19 is dangerous to all our livelihoods, Rocio emphasized the importance of exercising to strengthen the immune system. She was right, and I feel great. I am always excited about my training sessions, even it's Saturday morning (lol) Rocio knows so much about the anatomy of the body, and she knows exactly what you need. A few days ago I told Rocio that my back was hurting. She immediately performed some post-injury rehabilitation work on me, and oh my God, the pain went away. I just can't believe it. It's like a magic! But at the same time, I can definitely believe it, because I have a trainer who knows what she's doing. read more

How should I start??? I don't like to exercise and never was a fan. I'm what most of you would call a slacker - buy membership classes and only go once and never show again. Gym owners must love me as I'm easy money to them. When the pandemic hit and I was so beaten up from work that my husband suggested that I should work out to help relieve some stress and make me healthier. I was able to find Rocio and so glad (x10) I decided to give her a try. No words can describe her - she is experienced, talented, patient, humorous and most importantly will give you the workout that's suited for you. Believe or not, I've been coming to her for private training for 7 months now and have not slacked (surprising myself). I have posture issues since I was young which has caused me severe back pain and she has been factoring that in and adding posture correction exercises into my routine to help me build more strength in my back. We do a combination of Pilates, weigh training, cardio exercises, functional training and the works. I have noticed tremendous improvement in my back strength and surprisingly in my posture. Not only so, all my friends and coworkers have been telling me that I look more energetic and slimmer. To sum up, I don't know what I would do without her and recommend her to those of you who are contemplating to try. Trust me, she won't disappoint you! read more

I have been working with Rocio for 3 months now trying to build my strength. She is a fitness and health expert. Before coming to Rocio, iit had been a long time since I had worked out. Slowly but surely I am feeling stronger. Rocio is really good at finding those hidden tiny muscles that need to be worked. I suffer from lower back spasms and Rocio has working with me putting a focus on strengthening that area so it doesn't happen again. So far my lower back had been feeling great. Highly recommend Rocio! read more

Great trainer ! Love her classes ! She's super funny too and gives ton of modifications

Rocio is one of the fitness instructors at our corporate gym that leads circuit training, spin, and strength conditioning. Her classes are always high energy, fun, and the moves never repeat. Her beats are on point, which make it easier to push yourself to the max and get the most out of workouts. The best part is she does the workouts with us, which I appreciate as I can pace myself with her and always have a reference to see if I'm doing the positions correctly. I always leave class feeling like I got my butt handed to me, which is how I know I spent a good half hour working out. I highly recommend Rocio as a personal trainer or for corporate fitness programs. read more
