    Restorative class Monday nights !
    Jósa G.

The most beautiful yoga studio in town! BR has the best vibe and the sweetest group of dedicated teachers with endless amount of offerings every day of the week! Thanks for being here xoxo

Best yoga teacher Kristi Adam's during Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga + Baby/Babies(pre-crawlers)
    Lily Z.

I have attended both prenatal yoga and Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga + Baby/Babies(pre-crawlers) and love them both! The teacher, Kristi Adam's is awesome and places special attention on any areas of focus from which class participants request. Her teaching style is great and easy to follow. Wish I could attend other classes but happy to be able to attend any at all.

I've been coming to this studio for over 5 years, and it's truly become my home away from home. The studio has always been great, but it blossomed when Aviva and Liza took it over in 2020. The space is clean, bright, and filled with beautiful plants. There are lots of props available to modify your practice in whatever way you need (which is encouraged by all teachers). There are classes for everyone - from restorative to vinyasa flow. This is a great studio for beginners and experienced yogis alike. All those years ago, I took my very first yoga class here with no experience and no idea what to expect, and I never left! I've been practicing here at least 5 days per week since then. The instructors are all warm and welcoming, and so are the students - there's none of that clique-y competitive vibe that you sometimes come across at urban yoga studios. Most classes are also available both in-person and online which provides flexibility for students. Regarding the recent review criticizing the studio for stating that the prenatal class is for pregnant "people" rather than pregnant "women" - not everyone who can get pregnant identifies as a woman, and the studio doesn't limit its prenatal classes to those who do. It's pretty obvious that this woman-owned studio has the utmost respect for the bodies and experiences of not only women but ALL genders. The fact that their prenatal class is open to pregnant people of any gender just goes to show how inclusive Breathing Room is. I'm confused as to why this would be a downside for anyone!

It was a great balance of multiple options that a typical pilates class might include. The class was packed to the brim with 12 students, but it didn't feel crowded. It was very clean. There wasn't a ton of space for people to wait for the previous class to finish, but it wasn't a big deal. There are lockers (just crates; no locks) to stow your items. There is a water fill station. We brought our own grippy socks, but there are socks available for purchase. There is plenty of parking. There was a waiver we filled out and brief information was shared at the end if we were interested in signing up that day. Obviously, prices change/ fluctuate and pilates classes are generally quite pricy, and that's true here too. Leading up to the class, it was easy enough to sign up. I wanted to take the class with my sister, but it was full. However, it somehow worked out that we were in the same class. Overall, we had a wonderful experience!

I did the intro class with Dominique right after Thanksgiving and after a quick chat with Kat, the assistant manager, I was convinced to sign up for the unlimited membership (single studio). The sale offer is $202/month for the first month, then the regular price of $289/month for a 3-month commitment. I guess I'm committed for 3 months! Instructors here really focus on breathing and modifications/accommodations. It's been great trying classes with all of the instructors, then finding your faves. My personal faves are Dominique, Sara, Justine, and Laura! I love that they use a variety of equipment to really maximum the range of motion for our bodies. Very clean studio, plenty of parking in the plaza area. Would recommend!

Attendance was strangely sparse - sometimes there would be one or two other people in the class, but mostly it was just me. In hindsight, that should have been a huge red flag. In my first month, the instructor no-showed for one of my classes. I considered cancelling my subscription then and there, but she promptly apologized and credited my account, so I decided to give her another chance. In my second month, she no-showed THREE TIMES IN A ROW. I waited days for her to respond to messages. When she finally did, her messages were incoherent. She never credited my account. I cancelled my subscription and got my credit card company to refund my money. Clearly this is a pattern for her, and I can only assume she doesn't really want to be in the business of running a Pilates studio. But continuing to let people sign up and pay for expensive monthly subscriptions is SHADY if not fraudulent.

Pilates: I love attending the reformer classes, particularly Alba's and Jessica's, but I've attended most if not all of the instructors' classes and they've all been great. I always find space to stretch with no issue and have never had to wait for what I need. People put their weights back. There are spray bottles and cloths to wipe what you use after. The bathrooms are clean, and the red light sauna is a treat (honestly my deciding factor for adding the membership lol). I've yet to use the cold plunge or the showers. I attended a noon class and the instructor/owner Nicole was great - she is clearly a very naturally gifted body worker, and she is also extremely knowledgeable and accomplished when she demonstrates her technique. She is very exact and can explain the various stretches and moves in articulate detail. I would have been intimidated by this, but she is also a very warm and encouraging (read: forgiving) instructor, perfect for a novice such as myself. The more advanced students also seemed to get a lot out of her nuanced adjustments and corrections: She was also able to move fluidly between students with a very wide range of experience and capability. I also noticed that the studio interior was well designed for pilates and bodywork. The space was not overly "woo woo" like some yoga studios you see these days, but also not cold like a gym; it was the perfect combination that communicated "this is a kind and nurturing place, and we also intend to do serious work on your body."
