How the main gym floor looks like
    Dinah C.

All the reviews are consistent and true (except for one): 1. Christopher (owner and trainer) is great, makes sure all the newbies are following along and understand how to do certain moves 2. No egos whatsoever, everyone in the gym was great and encouraging 3. Legit kickboxing, and you get what you put in. Make it hard or easy as you want. I attended the Muay Thai kickboxing class, typical class structure goes: -10 minute group warm up and stretch -30 minute 8 round bag work out. There are two groups, one group does some bag work for 2-3 minutes while the other group does cardio with Chris. So you're always going something, which is great! -last 10 minutes is group abs/cardio and cool down. The only reason while I didn't give it a perfect 5 stars is cause the place feels sweaty. What I mean is that it didn't feel "clean." That's only because there are 3 back to back sessions in a day (and I attended the last session of the day), and I'm sure there's little to no down time to wipe things down. Also, real dudes work out there. So of course it's gonna smell like man sweat. Chris if you're reading this sorry! Haha, but on the other hand, he provided a great work out with great music!

I go to gracie jiu jitsu in the back and charles is always so cool.

My son enjoys going here. The price went up from $9 to $12 a class but that is still reasonable.

He was professional, approachable, and took the time to clearly walk me through everything without making it feel overwhelming. What stood out the most was how easy he made the whole experience, he answered all my questions, stayed patient, and made sure I felt confident with my decision. That kind of service really sets the tone for new members. Mike is definitely an asset to the team and represents the gym very well. Appreciate the great experience.

I joined UFC Gym La Mirada four years ago after one Jiu-Jitsu trial class with Coach Anthony…read moreRenteria, and that single class changed my path completely. Anthony wasn't just a coach -- he built athletes. He mentored, developed, and inspired students like me to grow beyond what we thought was possible. The Jiu-Jitsu program had identity, structure, and leadership. Recently, Coach Mikey Alcantar has been a great addition. He's skilled, motivating, and brings high-level instruction to the mats. The students genuinely respect him However, it's frustrating to see the gym consistently fail to retain quality Jiu-Jitsu coaches. Strong leadership keeps a program alive, and the instability has affected the community. On top of that, the Jiu-Jitsu class schedule is limited and not flexible enough for working adults. Serious students need consistent training opportunities. Because of poor coach retention and restricted class times, many dedicated students have felt forced to leave and train elsewhere. The gym has potential -- but without stable coaching and better scheduling, it's difficult for the Jiu-Jitsu program to thrive long term.
