The Hut - A Gem in the Keweenaw!…read more The Hut is a very unique experience, and we were thrilled to stumble upon it--especially since dining options in the area are a bit limited. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the quirky decor that ties into the Keweenaw's mining history. It's charming, memorable, and adds a special local touch you don't often find. My wife was on the hunt for some Lake Superior whitefish, and The Hut *delivered*. She went with the broiled preparation and couldn't stop raving about it--flaky, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I opted for a patty melt and was equally impressed. The marble rye was perfectly toasted, and the flavors were spot on. Service was decent overall. Our server did forget my tea, which was a minor hiccup, but honestly, it didn't detract much from the experience. The quality of the food and the one-of-a-kind atmosphere more than made up for it. If you're in the Keweenaw and looking for a satisfying meal with some local character, The Hut is definitely worth a stop.

I order the Copper Club. It consists of turkey or corn beef made hot or cold. I have it hot along with a mix of the meats. The sandwich arrives and looks very good. I try the slaw and the pickle. Slaw was good, but the pickle was too soggy. Now the sandwich, it was a damn good sandwich. The marbled rye was toasted just right, the flavor was real good. This little gem of a place is along the route to the tip of Copper harbor. Stop on the way up or back, but make it a stop. You won't be disappointed.

A Copper Harbor Treasure -- Harbor Haus is Pure Magic…read more Harbor Haus is truly one of the most special restaurants we've ever been to. The food is absolutely incredible -- every dish is crafted with so much care and flavor that it keeps us coming back again and again. But what makes Harbor Haus unforgettable is the people. Lisa and George are two of the sweetest, most welcoming humans you'll ever meet. From the moment you walk in, they make you feel like you're part of their family. The entire staff is just as wonderful -- warm, attentive, and genuinely happy to see you. There's a feeling here that you simply can't find anywhere else. We love coming to see them, and we love everything about this place. Harbor Haus is the heart of Copper Harbor, and we hope it never leaves. It's a gem, a tradition, and a home away from home. If you're anywhere near Copper Harbor, do yourself a favor and go. You'll be treated like family, fed like royalty, and you'll leave already planning your next visit. Greeted by the bartenders when we walked in, we chose where to sit and walked up to the bar to oder drinks. They have all the well classics in beer and booze so if you don't want snooty, don't order it. If you want high end cocktails with homemade tinctures - they've got you! So the locals are covered and the tourists are covered. The menu is short and sweet. We ordered everything. Popcorn - cool and yum! They put on a bbq rub instead of plain salt. I liked that touch a lot ( and I love my popcorn!). Hot dog - coney style. You want to bath in the chili! The meat in the hot dog is rich and full of flavor. Soft bun, top notch classic dog. Pulled pork - nice pickled sides add good acidity to the pork. It could use a side of sauces though. It would be cool if they had a carrier of different homemade sauces to choose from. Ribs - sold individually. Kind of a cool concept. Reduces waste which is always a good thing. Good smoke flavor and the sauce was really good too. I do love a Carolina sauce but our fiends didn't care for the sauce (mustard base). Again, this ties back to needing some sauce.
