So one morning my husband and I got here when it opened and were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of this place. Super fun, welcoming, funky, artsy vibes. They have art for sale on the walls from local artists. Eclectic furniture for lounging, working or studying. They had a few games for playing, an area for littlie kids to play. The walls that were covered in art also had little areas of exposed brick that I found super cute. We ended up getting a few coffee's for us and to take home to some of our family. Everyone really enjoyed their coffee's. Our favorite one was The Grind, white & dark chocolate, amaretto, hazelnut, and an extra shot of espresso. I highly recommend getting it hot. It was devine! They also served assorted pastries and bagels. We got a Blueberry Scone and a Jalapeno Bagel. Both were perfect. There was young man and woman who opened the shop and helped us out. They were both friendly and warm. Not long after we got there the place was packed. They did a great job of keeping up and being friendly. I could hear that a lot of people who came in were regulars. Always a good sign! So you can be sure that anytime I visit my grandparents I will also be visiting Doghouse Espresso!

I drink tea every single day. I have drank London fogs in numerous cities around the world. Never has anyone ever given me a London fog with looseleaf tea. When I brought it up to the counter and said that it was weird, I was told that the to go top would filter out the leaves. Needless to say, I didn't drink it and got a lemonade instead. I will probably never go back to fuel. It's always disappointed me.

Not all cold, just in spots, like they needed a good stir before ladling. The biscuits are huge, so if you get one on the side with your eggs, meat, and taters, you have dessert of a half biscuit with strawberry or raspberry jam or honey waiting for you with that last cup of coffee. Bacon and links are very good. Lots of hashbrowns. Sometimes left on the griddle a minute too long, but very tasty all the same. Dessert or a meal the next morning should be a cinnamon roll. It's a two-person size, and hot or cold it's worth getting to go.

The restaurant was immaculately clean, my drink was never empty, and my waitress was informative, funny, friendly, and simply great at her job. And the food was beyond great! But for me, this visit was about much more than just a good meal. I used to come here more than 30 years ago with my sister. She and my brother-in-law are both gone now, and I wanted to come back and revisit a place that held some wonderful memories for me. I had the opportunity to meet the owner, and to my surprise, he remembered my sister and brother-in-law. He shared some wonderful things about them, and that made walking through the door worth more to me than I can really put into words. I'm extremely glad I stopped. They serve great traditional American food as well as absolutely amazing Mexican food. The service, cleanliness, food, and genuine small-town hospitality made this a very special experience. If you're passing through Delta, Colorado, I highly, highly recommend stopping at C&J Cafe. There is parking out front and plenty of additional parking in the back. Some restaurants give you a great meal. Every once in a while, you find one that gives you a great meal and brings back a few wonderful memories at the same time. C&J Cafe did exactly that for me.
