The home made tomato basil soup was rich, comforting, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Together, they made the ultimate comfort meal. Of course, the pastries were just as impressive--fresh, beautifully made, and full of flavor. We had the cream cheese kolaches and the white chocolate raspberry scone (heated up per her suggestion!) YUM. Paired with a cup of coffee, it was the kind of experience that makes you want to linger a little longer. Absolutely adore this place and so glad that we stopped by on our travels. She tried, but honestly she shouldn't have. We got 3 cones that were supposed to be medium but were almost liquid and smaller than any small should be. Maybe 1" of ice cream above the cone. She finally told us she couldn't do the other two until the mix she added was chilled, 15-30 minutes. She made us sundaes instead for the other two and gave us a discount... still came to $25. I owned my own business, a restaurant even, for almost 10 years. I know what she was trying to do. I understand and applaud the effort, but in this case the thought process was wrong. From the moment it was clear there wasn't enough, and even those tiny cones, it should have been "I'm sorry, the soft serve isn't ready. What else can I get you instead." Then make us normal product of whatever we order *and* a little discount as a sorry about not being ready, and this would be a 5 star review.

They carry a spectrum of herbs (I said herbs, not herb) and spices, bulk oils, dry goods, fresh produce, and the like. Many of the fruits and vegetables are grown and harvested on the premises or within a 5 mile radius of it. One of the first things you'll notice is it's on a farm. the second thing you'll notice is the large green-house built onto the west side of the building. In it you'll find growing what ends up on the shelves and in the meals. It doesn't get any fresher than that! Be sure to come by on Sunday for their buffet by donation. Proceeds go to support local, organic coops, so be generous. The food is like nothing you'll ever sample at another restaurant and is like "La comeda de los dios". Even if you have to go far out of your way to get here, I'm tellin' ya, you must experience it!

Towards the end of my visit, I went upstairs to the rooftop and purchased a bottle of Big B's organic lemonade. Organic ingredients include lemon juice, cane sugar, whole lemons and apple juice, along with filtered water and natural flavor. What I loved about this lemonade is the citrus essence was great, it was not cloyingly sweet (more moderately sweet), and the apple juice gave it a welcome, totally different taste not found in most lemonades. Drinking this delicious lemonade was a great way to cap off an enjoyable visit to the museum. On a different note, I didn't realize Hotchkiss, Colorado is actually closer to Utah than Denver. It's about 236 miles away from Denver. But if I'm ever taking a road trip, I would like to visit Big B's Delicious Orchards.

The showers have everything you'll need and the sheets are crisp and fragrance free. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. Cindie, the proprietess, was my gracious hostess. She and her staff were so accommodating, warm, and professional. They treated me like a prince! Everything has been carefully thought of to make my stay in the glamping tent easy and relaxing. The wines are wonderful (go for the petite syrah) and the charcuterie board turned out to be dinner one night. I will be back. This serene little farm is a keeper! Thank you, Cindie and your staff!
