After having several cars rustproofed at Ziebart, I called and made an appointment. I live about 45 minutes away so I left early. Getting there about ten minutes early, I checked in with the desk. Unfortunately, I waited in their lobby for 45 minutes the salesman was " busy" with a customer. I knew it would take about four hours (I would have to wait) plus the 45 minutes. Finally, I just got ip and left. Spending $700 on rustproofing is one thing but this place with no service and dozens of customers coming and going was just too much. read more

I have been going to Ziebart for over 10 years in Rochester, NY. I agree that the high pressure sales is part of the deal, however, IF you speak with, NO ASK TO SPEAK with DAN FAHY at the Henrietta location. He will listen to your concerns and respect your requests. He understands the process as a customer. He will give you a fair deal and inform you of options that you may consider. If you have concerns talk with him. He has been there for several years and knows customer service. I don't/didn't like the sales process at Ziebart, however, DAN FAHY will make it easier. Let them know, NO let DAN FAHY know what services you want and he will LISTEN. Regardless of who I have worked with, if there was a problem, it was corrected. I have not had any damage done to my car while being serviced in the last 10 years. I tend to keep my cars a long time. I have also utilized the Renu Shine paint protection for $100 annually, however, at a better price up front is a lifetime product and a 5 year product that would save you $$$ in the long run. The Renu Shine product has been quality. Paint looks good and still clear after being 14 years old. IF you have a problem VOICE it and request to see a Manager if not satisfied. I have not had to deal with Ziebart in this manner, however, after reviewing some prior posts..... I would stand your ground and demand good service. All this being said, I have had quality work done at the Henrietta location, I have not met DAN FAHY prior, however, I will be requesting to work with him in the future. Bought a 2018 car that had the Ziebart $3000 package transferable to me this past January, took it there they said car look great bring it back in October for spraying , I thought that was great, so I bought undercoating for my van as well. Went there this past Friday to get appointments for both cars and get a quote for tinted window for the same car , the guy was like we are so busy but if you get the tinted window done will get you in this Monday ( I was trying to get an estimate that's all) and trying so hard to sell me other packages for my second car ( the van) but I said no. He automatically put me down for Monday without giving me pricing, when I asked again he goes I need to see the car first ( which he should have done first) we go out look at it and goes 320$ but for you $250. It was too much for me so I just wanted to get the spraying done for a least one car , he goes next appointment is not till March !!!! Really !! It's either spending more money ( on top on the 3700$$$ originally) or wait 6 months what's the point then of buying it the first time !!!!! read more

Even when we had a bit of confusion concerning something that happened to my car, they went over and beyond to get it rectified for me! Ziebart does a good job at rust proofing, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I had an appointment for an annual recoat and when I arrived, the receptionist was on the phone for several minutes with what sounded like a personal call. She finally finished and reluctanly took down my information, then pointed to two guys putting a wrap on a car and told me they would help me. Now installing a wrap takes hours and they were just starting! I asked if any of the other 4 guys standing around could help me, and one took me back into his office for their standard upsale (why can't they just take your car and put it in the garage without the upsale pressure tactics?!). They said it would take all day, so I left in my other car to do some shopping. I called them at 2:00 p.m. and asked how much longer it would take and explained that we live 30 minutes away in Webster and if only another hour, then we would just wait. The guy checked with the shop foreman and was told that it would not be done until at least 5:00 p.m., so we headed back home. We had no sooner arrived home at 3:00 p.m., than I got a call saying my car war ready! Back we drove! I spoke to a manager upon arrival and expressed my displeasure at the lack of professionalism in his receptionist and the inability of the shop manager to estimate job completion! He wasn't very sympathetic and simply acknowledged that these things happen. read more

After a short time, I traded my truck into Cortese they "ZIEBART" got all the equipment back from Cortese Ford over 8,000 $$$- and resold it I'm checking to see if that's legal. I just want to say that they sprayed my car with whatever they spray it with to supposedly make it safer from rust, but I have a white Jeep patriot and dirt is sticking to the car now. I took it to the car wash and washed it myself, and I started to notice the dirt is not coming off. I can wipe it off but I cannot spray it off. We will see what they do. I brought my car in for a deep interior clean and remote start and lock unit. They never cleaned the front seats because they didn't want to damage the seat covers taking them off. I guess they want to complicated for them. Only to see that they did damage the driver seat cover and still failed to clean the seat. Upon my picking the car up, it was delivered to my this the interior panel partially disassembled the screw missing out of two spots and the handle not even completely reattached. Supposedly it's being corrected now as I wait but I still don't know if the starter and locking unit works correctly! I have little faith in it based on performance so far. The female CSP was the only professional encounter. Now the manager threatens me with a video saying it was that way when it was brought in. The video showed it was not that way, I then explained how it is done to reattach the panel. He then tells me to do it, I then firmly state that that is what I'm paying him for. I had an annual ziebart service completed on my car that included a clay bar wash to the entire outside of the car and then purchased a complete interior detail package for $139.00 (on sale from $189.00). My $50,000 NEW (one year old) Lincoln MKX came back to me in horrible shape. The outside was dirty - mud streaks from driving on the undersides of the mirror, yellow drips on the gas door and front hood, pollen dust all over the top, DINGS AND SCRATCHES ON MY LEFT FRONT BUMPER!!! The interior was even dirtier - the seats still had splatters from my toddler, the windows did as well, the cup holders were sticky and had residue, as did the doors. It literally looks as though they sprayed my car off quickly with hose water and hastily vacuumed the inside and called it a day - despite taking over 7 hours to do yesterday. I have sent the car back and called them to discuss - to which I was told "Hmm ok, ill check it out. I looked at it and thought it looked pretty good." If you are thinking about using them - RUN!!! I have NEVER ONCE had any damage to this car and this is the FIRST time I have used this service. I had some issues on my last visit but the management worked hard to make sure that at the end I was happy. The product itself is top shelf and I have always used it in the past. I am set to bring my wife's car here as well. I believe my last encounter was an isolated event and that it will not happen again. All in all Ziebart makes a great product for rust proofing. If you have a car or truck I would suggest staying away from dealer systems and electronic mumbo jumbo and come to Ziebart. I own a repair shop and say this from over 25 years in the business. I took my car in for a remote starter. The staff is very friendly and the facility is clean. The only drawback is that I was told it would take between 2 and 2 1/2 hours. I waited at the facility while the work was being done. It ended up taking just over 3 1/2 hours. While waiting, I chatted with other customers who are also waiting. Evidently this is a common issue. Apparently it is not unusual for the wait time to be several hours longer than what they quote. Just be sure to plan on more time and they tell you. TIP: always try to bargain with them. I feel I got a very fair deal on my starter and I paid $75 less than what they initially quoted me. read more

I took my truck to have a spray in Berliner installed almost a year ago. Recently I noticed some rust leaching through at a seem. I took it in fully expecting a "We don't cover that." Instead I got to work with Pete, the same guy from last year, and he goes "You're the guy with the red Chevy?" The fact he remembered me was awesome. Then when we got to the truck he explained what was happening and made sure I got the first available appointment. The bed of a flatbed tow truck swiped and dragged about a 2 foot dent down the rear passenger side of my vehicle, busting out the tail light as well. Even though the entire event was caught on my company's video surveillance, the only easy thing about dealing with the situation was calling and dealing with Ziebart. I texted photos of the damages to them, and they had an estimate returned to me the same day, and were ready to start the repair work immediately. Their response was so amazing it seemed too good to be true, and made me a little nervous, to be honest. I got a new Ram truck about a year ago, have taken good care of it and used it as a...truck. I keep vehicles forever and got the full Ziebart treatment to keep this one from looking like my 2001 in 14 years. Inside and out it's like new but the box looked like my 2001. I brought the Ram in today for an inspection and had Ziebart install a Rhino Liner. When the truck was finished it looked like NEW! The ratty, scratched bed was a beautiful matte black that even hid minor dents. Our other car is a 2007 Outlander with Ziebart protection. This looks like brand new without a hint of corrosion or paint deterioration. Not bad for an 8 year old car in Rochester. BUYERS BEWARE! I brought my Avalanche in a couple year ago after having a few small rust spots repaired hoping I could take advantage of their rust proofing treatment to prevent further rusting. While inquiring about the product I was assured that it would stop the rust or at least greatly slow it down. A few weeks after having the treatment done, I noticed rust spots popping up all over the place and they seemed to be accelerating! I went back to the Ziebart to basically ask what was going on and I got a much different story on what their rust product actually does. They were very happy to take my money for the application though. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he was not there but I was assured he would call me. After a week of waiting I tried calling back and was again told he was not available but would get right back to me. Two years later I'm still waiting for the call. Bottom line, my experience with Ziebart is that you are lucky if you have a pleasant experience. They are a typical high pressure sales operation. I brought my Jeep back for its annual touch up. Instead of just dropping it off I had to wait to speak with a specialist. He offered me different promotions, which I declined. After a couple of hours I received a phone call from another rep who stated the guy I was originally spoke with had to step out and wanted this gentleman to check back with me about adding on a detail. Again I tried to decline stating that it just wasn't something in my budget. It was clear that he just wanted to sell me something additional. I had to repeat myself multiple times stating I did not want to buy anything. He continued to drop the price of the service and kept stating what a great deal I was getting. He was so pushy and of course ended up talking me into the service despite me saying no multiple times. I am dreading going back next year for the annual touch up because I don't want to deal with this again. I was super disappointed with our experience at Ziebart. I scheduled my husband's car to be detailed as a Father's Day gift. The first disappointment was the price--$130 for a little Toyota Corolla--and that was the groupon price. I have had my large, 7 seater SUV done at Delta Sonic for $90 and they did a much better job--and four little kids destroy my car! We got my husbands car back and at first glance it looked ok. They cleaned the upholstery well, and vacuumed the floors. But I drove it the next day and noticed so many things they missed--the seat belt button, gear shift, dash controls, door handle, and around the side of the seat (where you open the gas tank) were all gross and hadn't Beene touched. Basically any crack or crevice was untouched, as I looked further. The whole point of having a car 'detailed' was to get all those little detail places clean! The job was really an embarrassment to their company. I'm really upset we spent so much and got such terrible results. My 10 year old could have done a better job. We won't be returning. WARNING: This is a long story. It's kind of like my Odyssey (not Honda). The short version is this - don't ever take your car to this place. It's a scam and they are dishonest. Save yourself the trouble and take your business elsewhere. I purchased a brand new 2009 Honda CR-V in August 2009 and drove it up to Rochester. I've been living here for close to 7 years now, so I'm no stranger to how much salt accumulates on the roads in the winter. I decided to get an undercoating on the car to protect it. John Holtz Honda referred me to Ziebart, since that is where they supposedly get the undercoating done on all of their new cars. I looked them up online and everything seemed to check out. I made an appointment and showed up one fine morning. All I wanted was to apply an undercoating to the car. The salesman walks out to my car and starts pointing out various things they can do to protect my investment- even though he knows I just came for the undercoating. "Well, you have leather seats. We have all this amazing coating that protects leather seats from scratches and wear and tear...oh, yeah, we also do this thing that plugs in all of the holes in your doors and frame to prevent salt and water getting in there...oh yeah, did you hear about our diamond gloss? It's used by NASA to coat their space shuttles to prevent it from getting damaged or rusting very easily. Basically, if anything touches your car, it won't damage it." Did he really just offer to apply a chemical that NASA uses on space shuttles on my car? Tell me more. Please tell me more. "So basically, if a bird poops on your car, the chemicals in the poop won't damage the paint. It'll just wipe off. It'll also protect you from getting dings in the car, it's a really intense coating. Like I said, NASA uses it on their space shuttles." At this point, I'm in awe. NASA uses it? Amazing bird poop repelling properties? What's the catch? This must cost billions. Nope, only $1,200 to do everything. Really? Here's the problem- I'm too nice. So I said, "Well, let me think about it. I'm not sure I want to put this stuff on my car but I definitely need the undercoating. Can you let me think about it? Can you just start the undercoating now and can I let you know later whether I want the rest?" "Sure, just call us in 30 minutes. We won't do anything until we hear from you." So my roommate picks me up, we go to breakfast at the diner next door, and I'm showing him the brochure because he knows way more about cars and detailing than I do. After discussing it, I realize it's ludicrous and something that I shouldn't invest in. So I call them up- 15 minutes later. "Hey, I've thought about it. Don't do the diamond gloss and leather stuff, I just want the undercoating." "Just the undercoating?" "Yup." "Alright, we'll let the guys know in the shop." I go home. I wait a few hours and get a call to pick up the car. And so it began. "Well, we've got your car all set. Your total is $1, 285.99" "Excuse me?" "Well, we did the diamond gloss, the leather protector, and the undercoating like we agreed upon." "No, I told you to do the undercoating and said to hold off on the rest until I called back." "But you never called back. I thought we had a verbal agreement." "I called back 15 minutes later from down the street, they said they were only going to do the diamond gloss, and verbal agreements are moot when you're dealing with work on an expensive car. Are you kidding me?" So he asks me who I spoke to, but I didn't know. He then goes to the shop and nobody remembers my phone call (convenient). He checks the phone records and sees that I called, but insists that nobody got the message (convenient). He starts walking around and muttering to himself that they can't just give me the car because they've done this work, that I have to pay for it (illegal). I call my roommate in a panic and he drives back to help me car talk these people. At that point, the manager ushers usinto a back room to talk to me about what happened. Her goon, the guy trying to charge me, is standing there insisting that we had a verbal agreement. So, they look up the call again and see that I did in fact call 15 minutes after I left the building. Now we're on the same page. After a lot of arguing, I said - "It's simple. Either I pay for the undercoating and you let me have my car, or you can hold onto my car and I'll come back tomorrow with a lawyer." They let me have my car back and I only paid the undercoating. The problem? I have no coverage on anything else they did to my car (and no record, again, convenient). So now my car shines like a spaceship and I have no clue what they did to it. But at least I didn't have to bring back a lawyer. Bottom line: Don't go there. Both the employee and the manager were extremely rude, condescending, and discourteous. Not once did they try to take ownership for the problem. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Today I went back for my annual rust proof under spray, everything went fine and dandy until I left. I got out of my car and noticed rather large scratches on the hood of my car. I went back and they checked it out and gave me a whole lecture on how water-soluble paints scratch easy. I was invited back in to take care of the whole situation. We sit down, and the guy tries one of the salesman pitches with their paint protection program and that he would knock $200 off the price ($599). It told him I wasn't worried about the rest of the car, just what they had did. He said they would buff it out for $30. I refused, and said I shouldn't have to pay for something that they did. I got a reply of "we aren't working for free." I then proceeded to tell them that what they did was wrong, and that the person who wiped down my car could not have not noticed it. The guy seemed phased when I tried to explain that something like a watch or a ring could scratch a car...He must be well educated. I got a reply of "so you can be judge, jury, and executioner." Some customer service, eh? Needless to say I was not a happy camper at that point, being insulted by a two-bit salesman. Who also has the nerve to say that it could have been like that, but the car was covered in salt...it was fine last week when the car was washed and spotless. This is the second incident I've had at this location, first: they broke my light switch installing a remote start system and then failed to tell me, I got to find out on my own, just like with the scratch...it seems to be a re-occurring theme with these people. Needless to say, I'm determined to get this scratch fixed, and when all is said and done, I will not be returning for any annual warranty work, nor will I recommend this place that hardly deserves to be called an establishment, to anyone. Groupon find for interior detailing for my mobile after a hard winter... Scheduled 2 weeks in advance, dropped off at 11:30am and was asked when I'd return to pick up. Asked if 5pm was good and was told 'no problem! It'll be done'. Arrived at 5pm (walked back from home in the rain!) and was told it would be at least an hour an a half until finished. For real?! I think everyone would agree that the product is exceptional, especially the lifetime rust through guarantee. The problem with this place is the continual pressure to up-sell, up-sell, up-sell. I dreaded my yearly visit, because I knew there would be a tremendous amount of smoke blown up my rectum, and the BS would be laid on so thick that farmers boots would be necessary. My extremely negative opinion of the sales staff changed when I met the cousins Mike, and Shane. I told them I was there for my yearly inspection, respray, and surface treatment...ONLY. Both Mike and Shane, offered and explained options that were available to me when I said no, the matter of up-sell was dropped. They went out of their way to see that my vehicle was completed in a timely manner, with a professional product. Yes the pressure of the up-sell is relentless from most of the sales staff, but it is not the sales staff that you're there for, you're there for the product and if you happen to get a good salesperson, like the cousins Mike and Shane, you can walk away happy and satisfied. Just had my vehicle in for its yearly application of undercoating/rust protection as part of my warranty coverage. I completely recommend this service but upon check in I was briefed on the service being done, which is fine. What I don't care for is being informed of the other "deals" going on that I don't have any need for. $600 for a paint sealant..............really??? I could be involved in a car accident the next day and that would go to waste. Yes, I anticipate owning my vehicles for awhile but the average is 2 years and then on to the next one. All in all don't waste my time, please just do the service that I'm already paying for. If I wanted additional package deals I'll ask you. I have a 14 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee that I have been taking to Ziebart for years. It looks nearly as good today as it did 10 years ago. Even my mechanic can't get over what good shape it is in. Paul at the Lyell Ave location takes good care of me and my car he knows and understands what it takes to keep it looking good and rust free.
