I left a review for this location a few years ago and received a free detailing certificate in the mail from ziebart. I appreciated this very much as this was not the reason I said what I did in my review, but it was nice to know that my dissatisfaction was recognized. My experience this time around was MUCH more pleasant. They were very communicative over the time frame in which my car would be completed and they were willing to work with me when I was late to drop off and to pick up my car. The detailing itself was worlds better than my previous experience here. I had bugs stuck to my bumper, and dog hair was everywhere as we have 3 dogs we tote around often. My car isn't by any means a wreck but it does get messy, but when I picked it up it looked like a brand new car (and smelled like it too). Ziebart focused on the details this time around...as one would expect really. My floor mats were waxed, the outside was sparkling, I think they even shampooed the carpet in my trunk, and not a surface had any dog hair on it. This business feels renewed, and I can't believe that I'm this impressed by the same business that a few years ago, majorly disappointed me. Ziebart - Albany, NY were supposed to replace defective paint protective film (PPF), applied to front bumper that was peeling and lifting. The replacement was authorized and approved by Ziebart corporate. After replacement and before I left Ziebart's lot, I inspected their PPF replacement job. I noticed in the lower right corner of the front bumper, what looked like shapes of geometric fragments, some with vertical and horizontal lines. These were actual PPF fragments that were underneath the new PPF that was applied. The PPF could be actually be seen and felt rising over the top of the fragments underneath. I took pictures. I've included pictures and descriptions below. I pointed this out to the General Manager. He told me that those were "stone chips" that had "penetrated" the PPF. Again, I pointed out to him, showing that the new PPF actually RISES OVER the fragments. His statement was not only ridiculous, it was preposterous. In addition to physically seeing and feeling the raised areas, "stone chip" damage: 1) does not manifest in precise horizontal lines, vertical lines and geometric shapes and then in a small, localized specific area. 2) would create a wider impact and a random pattern. After arguing with him, he said he would fix it and told me TO MY FACE that he needed two estimates from TWO body shops. Not only did I get two estimates from the body shops, I also went to a reputable PPF and detailing shop. They confirmed my findings in a written statement from their technician. Additionally, I had a licensed auto insurance adjuster and body repair estimator look at Ziebart's "handiwork". He also provided a notarized statement attesting to the same findings, essentially there were left over PPF fragments that were covered over with new PPF and that there was no "stone chip" damage. The conclusion is during the removal of the old PPF, the Ziebart workers pulled some of the clearcoat off in that area. They put the fragments back and put new PPF over the top to cover it up. To repair the damage they caused, requires a complete sanding and repaint of the color base and clearcoat, as stated in the body shop estimate. The least of repair estimates was $1,200. I had the PPF removed by a reputable (not Ziebart) dealer, I again took pictures. It showed the the geometric areas and lines I mentioned. There was no stone damage. Again, in addition to that facts, if stones could have penetrated the PPF, they would also have created a wider and random damage pattern, not actual shapes with exact horizontal and vertical lines. Additionally, if stones could penetrate the PPF, then it is a waste of $900 for a defective product. The general manager later refused to honor the estimates provided to him and pay for the incompetence and negligence of his employees. Instead, he sent me an email stating the damage was due to stone chips. In his letter he contradicted himself. I could go on about flaws and contradictions in his statements, but I will just mention this. If he wasn't going to take responsibility, then why did he insist that I obtain two repair estimates from two separate body shops? I contacted Ziebart Corporate and spoke with the "Senior Customer Service and Training Administrator", also sending her all the complete documentation, which also included pictures. Her email response was that there was nothing she could do, as each franchise is individually run. I then filed a complaint with the NY State Attorney General's office. They tried to reach Ziebart's Albany, NY location but told me they did not get any response. What does that say about Ziebart? What do they have to hide? Bottom line, avoid this business and their unscrupulous tactics. The other auto detailing place also pointed out many flaws in Ziebart's application of the PPF, which I didn't know about and that I also documented. I've heard of other complaints from other people, but never really thought much about it, perhaps a random event. Now I know. With that said, find a reputable company that will 100% stand by their work. The old saying is right, Caveat Emptor! read more

I had my classic car undercoated. When I picked it up it was coated evenly. There were random areas that weren't coated at all. Told them my dissatisfaction and they said they would coat it again. Dropped my truck off in the morning to get undercoat touch up. Then later that day I called to see if my truck was done, and they said it would be done by 4:30. Get there at 4:50, and they haven't even started. Then they apologize for the delay, and tell me it would only take 10 min, which I find ridiculous that they charge what they do, for a 10 min job. After they completed at 5:10, I go out to parking lot, and my truck wasn't even rinsed off, and still cover in dirt, and salt. How can you spray undercoat over dirt. Horrible business. I had put on diamond coat and rust proofing right after I purchased my car.At the time I was talked into at least a diamond coat , since I did not have the money for ceramic coat .I came in yesterday for my yearly inspection for both and was grabbed by the salesman instead( one that sold products to me ) and went out to inspect car .Then brings me inside trying to sell me more.I am now told I have to pay another 500 dollars to reapply diamond coat , and need to read warranty that says I have to pay to reapply .He had said he never said only apply once when he did .I left car for rust proofing inspection and reapply .I came back to pick up car .Car never cleaned as promised and whole side of car sprayed with rust proof .Also multiple dings and scratches left on car that were not there before services were done.A service guy came out with with a spray bottle and rag trying to fix it but some of the scratches were deep down to the metal.It was so bad I had to make a police report.DONT GO TO THIS LOCATION.I believe they lied to me and tried getting me to spend more money.When I said no they did this to my car so I would have to go back for more.Trust me I am not the 1009 Albany location was horrible read more

You lose if you miss coming back for an annual check up or if you sell the car in less than 5+ years. I took my vehicle to the Albany location where Roger & Jenn gave me in writing that I was going to have 18 months to finance all the service that was done to my vehicle. Once I received my first statement, to my surprise that was not the case. Absolutely unprofessional. The front desk workers are Rude, talk about their personal lives in front of customers, argue like children, talk bad about their chain of command to costumers. I can see the guys that actually work on the cars are hard workers the people in the front talk about them and to them poorly. The workers at the desk eat in front of customers, talk while they're eating. Talk to each other as if the costumers can't hear them. Talk about making their money off of sales. One Big guy stated that he needs the back workers to hurry on the cars because he sold a lot of packages. Just unprofessional and clearly should not be working with customer's or in customer service. There are many positive things about Ziebart. They made scheduling an appointment easy, and called to confirm and remind me at a later date. I took my car to them for interior detailing, and it was spotless when I picked it up. They did a great job. The only reason that I am not giving them 5 stars, is that they tried to HARD sell other products. They wanted me to commit to another $899 + tax, on top of the $215 I was already in for. I understand that there may be some benefits to rustproofing my car, but I don't need to be badgered about it when I drop off my car and then again when I pick it up. The hard sell made this a much less enjoyable experience (especially first thing in the morning) and in future I will go elsewhere. read more

If I could give this business no stars I would. My experience with Albany ziebart and the ziebart company has been a horrible one. We purchased the undercoating package and a detail package. Upon 1st application, undercoating peeled off, upon second respray product peeled off and when we contacted to ask for a refund we were asked to give them another chance to make it right. We gave them 1 last chance to make it right and when we picked up the truck before we even left the lot we took the following pictures of the underside. There was over spray on the outside of the Silver vehicle and rims, and also the underside was not sprayed and was wire wheeled and not sprayed in areas. We contacted supervisors asking for our money back and we have been getting the run around since March. We do not get phone calls back, we have to keep calling. We were asked to drive our truck to Syracuse so that "upper management" could "take a look" we told them no that is NOT feasible we just want our money back. We were told once they opened back up after Covid 19 shut down we would be first priority to have a call back and have this issue resolved. We received nothing. We contacted them again and are still getting the run around. And again, we do not receive phone calls back, we have to keep calling them. We have contacted the dealer who sold us the vehicle with the product and they also contacted Ziebart on several occasions on our behalf and still nothing. If we do not hear back by the end of this week, we are going to the better business bureau. I would NEVER recommend anyone to this facility or company. It is cheaper and easier to buy the product and apply yourself. Then you know its done right and there's no hassle. read more

Short Form: Michael is a great manager who was able to be very flexible with our hectic schedule, and get us in for an appointment on short notice. He took the time to examine our vehicle with us and even showed us the undercarriage of a vehicle that had already been coated and was on the lift. He was willing to answer all of our many questions and explain the detail of how Ziebart works and what it does to protect your vehicle. Furthermore once we got the vehicle back it looked spectacular. He summarized and reviewed what was done and gave us tips on how to keep the vehicle and Ziebart in the best shape. Long Form: My girlfriend and I moved out to the east coast from California for two years of graduate school. We had heard about the salt and auto rust and were a little worried. We heard about Ziebart, and were told it's the best alternative to prevent rust. We weren't able to get the job done our first year out here though due to our own logistics setting up our new life. So after our first year we were surprised to see how much rust already accumulated on our Ford Escape, and we wanted to get the job done before going through a second year of salt on the east coast. As the beginning of our second year in school was approaching we found ourselves in a time crunch once more. We would be starting school on the following Monday and gave Michael a call the Tuesday before the Monday school was set to begin. He was booked, and let us know he wouldn't be able to get us in until our school would have already began. For us it was either now or never, because we knew once school began we would be unable to get the vehicle coated with Ziebart (this had to do partially with school being busy and also with the fact that we are going to school in the middle of Vermont and the time required to drive to Albany and be without a vehicle for awhile would be a challenge). I explained the pressing issue to Michael and he was able to fit us in on the firm commitment that we were on board to come down first thing the next day and were devoted to get the coating. We were on board and the next day we drove down. As noted above Michael was great. He took the time to explain everything and answer any and all questions. He got the job done quickly and made us fell confident that we knew the entire process. Summary: I recommend Ziebart for all cars on the east coast. The cost is well worth it. You will depreciate the value of your vehicle more rapidly and at a greater cost than what it costs to get Ziebart. I have been dealing with Albany Ziebart since the early 90's and have never had such a bad experience as I had today 12/8/17. My wife brought her 2006 Mini in at 8am for inspection or respray which in the past included a power spray , and touch up. Last year we paid another 270 dollars on top of our original cost of approximately 340 for what is called used rust personnel to include a free annual respray . This was suppose to take 5 hours. At 3:00pm we called and were told to come at 4:30 pm we showed up and the car had not moved, along with others who had come for the free respray early that morning. It seemed only those there to spend money at that time were being cared for . Those promised a free service were being ignored. At this time we took the vehicle and will try one more time for a true appointment if this does not go well then it's off to the better business bureau. Brought my truck in to have it detailed inside and out. Got there after hours to pick it up thank God they were still there. The truck was still pretty dirty inside they never touched my windows. Front and rear bumper along with side rails all still had dirt all over. I paid these guys $320.00 and left my vehicle with them all day. My 2009 Toyota Prius hatchback was a total mess. Sat in a garage for 5 months and had more dust and dirt that you can imagine. Left it for the day last week and I couldn't believe how great it looked when I picked it up. It was as clean as when I bought it new. Be very careful using this business to do work on your vehicle. I used this business in the past under different ownership and they were great. The new ownership, not so much. Most people never check the work that was supposed to be performed to their vehicle. Unfortunately I had heard bad things about this business from a reputable dealership after I already had used them. Long story short my undercoat and rust protection was never applied completely and a lot of spots were missed. Two employees and the one who does the spray in liners admitted to lots of spots being missed, not to mention my spare tire to my vehicle was thrown into the bed of the truck with undercoat sprayed on it which marred the rhino lining. My truck was their for 2 full days and then for another half day when it was brought back for the work to be finished. They tried to tell me I had to come back to have the undercoat applied on a different day, even when I spoke to Diane on the phone and made an appointment to have all the work done my second time there. I was not going back a third time. Needless to say they fit my vehicle back on the lift to have all the work done again. However, after the second time there they told me the work was done again. I checked before I left and again the rust protection was not done. It went back in the garage AGAIN! This time Tony, the owner, did the rust protection. If you use them be wary. Check their work! I myself will not be going back again especially for spending $1,000 for that kind of service. read more
