I just got my hair colored here by Liliya and I have NEVER had a hairdresser put in SOOO much effort and work so meticulously to make sure I get the result I want. I was tired just watching how much effort she was putting in. I sent a photo to all my friends and every single one LOVESS it. I have never been more happy in the last 11 years of getting my hair done. Phenomenal job. read more

Zia's Salon - I had got a base color it is mocha mixed with red and I'm going back in another week for partial highlights - Nail Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Went for a blow out before a wedding. My stylist was SO nice. We had great conversation the whole time. She did a really nice shampoo and conditioning with several products and a nice scalp massage. She did exactly what I wanted, lots of volume and curls in under an hour. It was a little more money than I anticipated but worth the money. Unfortunately I am from out of town but I would definitely use this salon if I lived in the area. read more

The woman who did my hair did a fabulous job and all of the ladies were very friendly, funny and outgoing. I realize that it is Chicago, but I only got a trim and my total was 50 dollars...I was not ready for that. That was after she said it was lowered since I was a student. Luckily, I live really close and ran home to transfer more money onto my debit card after I left. read more

I have been coming I salon Zia for two years now and I have to say I will not go anywhere else! Lily has always done a great job with my hair and always has great things to talk about! I have to say finding a good person to do your hair can be tricky but I definitely found it here. This place is so friendly and I feel like every time I come in lily and I pick up our conversation where we left off. Also one time I left my jacket here and they called me a few days later and held it for me for a month until I came back! Who does that? They are great!!!! read more

Visiting my sister's neighborhood so thought to try Zia's as she raves about the ladies there! Lily washed and style my hair and Julie did my mani/pedi. My hair and nails look fabulous! The salon is nice, and the gals are so friendly. I will definitely return. Thank you Ladies! read more

I've been going to Zia's in the Gold Coast for 8 years now. For those who think the prices here are high, I encourage you to try to shop around the neighborhood. For one thing, it's one of the few salons that doesn't charge extra for flat ironing, which can frequently add $10 to your bill! I LOVE the entire team at Zia's. Julie for mani/pedi, Lily and Kristina for hair (I tend to go to Kristina, but Lily often fills in for me on Kristina's off days and she's terrific as well.) This place is completely unpretentious and has an extremely loyal following. If you're someone who wants to be treated like royalty, this may not be the place for you -- you are treated more like family here. And I love it. read more

Located in a charming vintage building, Zia's is a friendly unpretentious salon with a strong clientele following. The girls that work here are friendly, professional, and do a great job cutting, styling, and doing manis & pedis. Julie (nails) and Kristina (hair) are awesome and treat you like family. The salon itself is kept impeccably clean, and with their reasonable price schedule, you know you aren't paying for the decor. Visit if you're in the neighborhood, and I'm sure you'll become a fan. read more

I got a haircut here a few weeks ago and my cut was completely uneven. I come here to get my brows waxed so decided to try them out for their other services. I have long hair and I was just going in to get the ends cut. I had the girl curl it and my curls had dents in them instead of being smooth. Since my hair was curled after she styled it I was unable to notice the error till the next day when I flat ironed it. When I wear my hair to the front you can tell one side is about a half inch longer then the other. I didn't want to go back in and get it fixed in case she got nervous and messed it up even more. I was just just pissed i wasted $65 on a crappy cut. Never coming back here again. read more

I love this salon! I was sold on the first visit but even more so on my return, Lily does an amazing job on both cutting and styling my very challenging hair! She's friendly and remembered so much about me and my hair, after only one visit. I had a manicure by Julie this time and it lasted over two weeks. The entire vibe is so comfortable and not fussy here. I would highly recommend it. read more

Zia's Salon - Color by Kristina. She rocks! - Nail Salons Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

One piece of advice......DON'T Look, I'm not one to even write reviews but I'm compelled to warn others about the inexperience and attitude that come with a haircut at this place. While they offered to re-cut my hair the following day after I informed them I wasn't satisfied, there were slight undertones of attitude. I have experience cutting hair, the lady has absolutley no idea what she's doing- texturing is not hacking and slashing away at the top of my head. I went to bed late last night because I was playing with my hair attempting to make it look permissible- oh wait, I did that this morning too and was late to work. Thanks for stressing me out over a men's haircut Zia's; this should be quick, painless and professional- 0 for 3 Zia's. Bravo... read more

I've gone here a few times but I will not be returning after my most recent experience. I have always thought that this place was EXTREMELY overpriced but it's in my building so I figured it was worth paying for the convenience. Boy, was I wrong. I got my hair cut there last night (for $65 before the tip). I asked for it to just be trimmed. ONLY a trim. As in 1 inch to just get the dead ends off. As Kristina was cutting, I noticed that she kept trimming it over and over again. By the time she finished and was about to start blow drying it, she put it in front of my shoulders to show me what she had done. I was shocked. She had removed at least 3 inches. I have photos to prove it. I was appalled. And to my horror, she said that "she wasn't done cutting it yet". She planned on blow drying it, then returning to chopping away at it! I wouldn't let her cut anymore, obviously, and I left really disgusted. I went back up to my apartment to get a photo off my phone that showed my hair a month earlier. I returned to the salon and told them how unhappy I was. I showed them the picture and explained that this was really unacceptable. It's not a terrible hair cut but it's MUCH MUCH shorter than I wanted it. They gave me A LOT of attitutde about it and tried to deny that they cut that much off (which was absurd because I had a photo to prove it). When that failed, they tried to tell me that I "miscommunicated" what I wanted done with my hair. Excuse me? How does a trim translate into 3+ inches? They did end up giving me my money back but I will never return. I agree with Alec's review-they don't know what they're doing. I really feel like they don't know how to cut hair at all. I think that my stylist couldn't get my hair cut even, so she had to keep trimming it over and over again in a desperate attempt to get it straight. This is not acceptable, a professional should be able to cut hair evenly. It's actually still not straight but I wouldn't dare have them correct it because I would probably end up leaving bald. read more

I've been getting my brows done at Zia's forever and they're always done exactly the way I like. Whenever I've had to get them done somewhere else, I've regretted it! I no longer live or work anywhere near the salon, but I still make the trip to Zia's whenever I need my brows waxed. There's simply nowhere else I trust to do it as well! read more

I made an apt. for a hair cut & didn't get what I wanted :( It wasn't a terrible job, by any means. Just not what I asked for. Also, the prices are very expensive. I'm sure pretty accurate for the neighborhood. The price I paid for 1 hair cut, is the price I usually pay for a cut & color. I don't usually care of being offered a drink or someone taking my coat. But w/ these prices I would think it is a must. No drink offered, no coat taken, etc. I won't be going back :( That's sad, because EVERYONE there was nice & welcoming. read more

Been going here for years for waxing. Julie does a great job. The neighborhood has few convenient salons that do good work for reasonable prices. read more

I took an elderly woman to Zia's today and they were just perfect with her- extremely patient, very attentive to her wishes. She was so happy with the color and cut. Thank you so much. I will be sending many people to you! read more

I've never had my hair done here, but I will only go to Julie when I need something waxed. She has always done my eyebrows perfectly! I used to have her do my nails also, but now I change my nail color so often that I just paint them myself. Julie and the other woman that works here are super sweet and Julie always remembers me. I definitely recommend Julie for waxing. Best ever! read more

Julie is the friendliest owner I have ever met. I use her for my nails and Kristina for my hair. Amazing job from both of them. Kristina is the stylist I would highly recommend. read more

I have been going to Zia's for over 8 years now...I used to live just down the street but I like in Lakeview now and it did not stop me from coming here. When you find a great place you stick with it. I always go to Julie for my eyebrow waxes, she is great! Kristina and Lily are so nice too, we all talk like we have been friends. I always feel at home there, no pretention in this Gold Coast location. Prices are great and would highly recommend going to Zia's! I am moving out of state and will miss this place very much, and it will be hard to find someone as good as Julie! read more

Kristina is my go to hairdresser when I am in the Gold Coast. She has been styling, coloring and cutting my hair for years. I love how patient she is, the fact that she always remembers which color she used the prior time and always keeping me in the loop with current trends. Money well spent and totally worth it. Thanks Kristina read more

I've been going to Zia's for waxing for years. They do an amazing job, and are so friendly and hospitable I always just love being there. It doesn't look or feel like a gold coast salon (in a good way!!). Zia's was recommended to me by a friend, and I have recommended it in turn to many of my friends. I'm a fan!! read more

I moved to the area last August and I have been coming here ever since. The service has been wonderful and the staff here takes you in like one of their own. I am always offered coffee, snacks, and water. My hair is just the icing on the cake. I went from bleach blond to red hair and everyone loved it! I have also had haircuts, waxing, and manicure services. I would recommend Zia's to anyone who wants more then just service. Clients become family and stay forever. read more

i'm very surprised people think this is a good salon; I cannot say it is even decent. aside from the high price, I have never seen such lack of service, refinement, or 'experience' at a salon. it is the most ridiculous set up; the ambiance is not there, and you're basically getting a haircut at a basement chop shop. please, go elsewhere. this review has nothing to do with how nice they are, which they are. that's given when working in the service industry. it just really misses the basics of what a salon should be. read more
