Went for lunch today after our visit to the V&A museum today.. Had to wait but only for about 10 mins.. Service was pleasant, however the food itself was delicious.. Be it that it took them a very long time to get the food out. I got the two course special with a squid and mango salad.. Which was nice, and I got the pan fried salmon for my main.. I must admit, the seafood risotto look much more appetising. That would definitely be on my list to try on my next visit. Excellent location for when you're doing a bit of shopping at Harrods.

My wife and I were wandering around after touring the beautiful Kensington Palace and went through Harrods to see what they had to offer food-wise. While all of the places looked wonderful, they seemed to be about 2x as expensive as I'd expect to be normal for a nice meal. After looking through all of Harrods we walked our and stumbled upon this lovely little Italian restaurant. My wife and I shared a Bruschetta and Artichoke/ham pizza. Living in Chicago, the thick crust pizza is a big deal. Having been to New York several times, their thin crust pizza is also a big deal. The pizza here was actually better than both and was a perfect but light crispy thin crust. Their desert menu was also to die for. The thing that set this place apart was their service. As an American traveling on holiday to the UK/Europe, you don't normally expect the best restaurant service as servers don't basically live off of their tips (unlike in the USA where most servers make $2.50 per hour plus tips). The manager was chatting up this older British lady and when she mentioned her eyesight wasn't so great he not only picked up her bag that she forgot, but personally escorted her outside, found her a taxi, and made sure to help her into it. Great food, great service, authentic experience. Love it. Also, if you checkin on yelp, you get a free coffee with desert.

Had dinner there on Friday night, after skating at the Natural History museum. Was well hungry by the time we got there! I had the pulcinella pizza, which was good, but not overly impressive (somewhat disappointing for such a very italian place). The glass of house red I ordered was lovely too. And as a follow-up, I would highly recommend the tiramisu. It's quite possibly the best tiramisu i've had in London!! My pizza was slightly disappointing, but I'll have to go again and try another one to be sure. A big selling point for me was that for the first visit they honour the tastelondon card, and we had a 2-for-1 on the courses. Makes me wish we'd gone for the other food, as pizzas are £7 to £11, whereas the other dishes go up to £25 for some of the mains. Entrees are around £10 to £14... Not an inexpensive place, by any means, unless you head for the pizza. Overall, I'd recommend it for dessert and service, and I would visit it again. It's probably buzzing with people in the early evening hours of post Harrod's-closing-time. When we went (Friday at 21:30) it was nicely quiet, with italian music playing (Eros Ramazzotti, nothing too flouncy)

Excellent Italian food, very fresh! The fettuccine house special is quite tasty. The pizza was very good. Ravioli was also excellent. The service was also outstanding. Right next to Harrods, for when their food shops are too crowded this place is an excellent alternative and there is free wifi!

Here is where we waited for our table to be prepared. Took them only miinutes

We were a family party of 12 without reservations. They accommodated us in a private room downstairs. We had the best eating experience of our four day stay here. Everyone raved about their food. Service was prompt and pleasant. Georgio directed everything with great efficiency. The waiter was very patient with repeated requests for picture taking. I had a veal on the shank Millanese Style to die for.

However, I need to warn my fellow Yelpers to stay away from Oliveto if you value Good Pizza! I mean, how hard is it to have good pizza!?! It is a simple staple which I have enjoyed in the US, in China and yes even in Italy. At it's most basic, it should be dough, sauce (doesn't have to be tomato necessarily), mozzarella and maybe some toppings, right? Here is where Oliveto went wrong for my mother and me: 1) they use cheap cheddar cheese - not mozzarella! 2) not a lot of sauce, maybe just enough to color it 3) the dough was soggy and didn't rise (I actually like thin crust, but this was inferior doug and 4) topping that were not as advertised, i.e. prosciutto should not look like and taste like store-bought sliced ham! Service was okay - the men like to talk about customers in their native tongue, thinking that patrons don't know what they are saying about them. We were so glad that we split a pie - most tables got a pie per person. Neither of us could finish this "pizza" honestly. Perhaps the only redeeming thing are the prices - this might be the cheapest choice in an otherwise expensive neighborhood.

It's a quaint little Italian spot in the heart of London and it's a wonderful place to spend, especially at night. We ordered the Spaghetti alla Carbonara, the Strozzapreti Boscaiola, and a Bellini and Mimosa to go with our dinner. The food took just a little while to get here but I was sure that it was because they were taking their care with every dish the chefs made. I was right. The pasta was fresh, the sauce and the ingredients tasted very simple and hearty. It all tasted like my hypothetical imaginary nonna made it. The drinks were very good too and complimented the food nicely. Our waiter was absolutely the nicest guy ever. He was very attentive and made sure that we were happy with everything. In my head, I was going to tip him well, and then when we got the check, there was no option to tip. God save the UK. America could learn a thing or two about what it means to not make life all about work. That's beside the point. If you're in London, visit Bon Gusto. I can't wait to come again and happily hand them my money with the biggest smile on my face.

My mom is, which is why we went but there are rather limited options, at least on pasta courses, that don't include pecorino. 2 - we tried three different pasta dishes. What made them truly stand out was the freshness of the pasta. That said, the sauces weren't remarkable. I tried a special pasta with pecorino, butternut squash, and mushrooms which was nice and not heavy but not partial flavorful. 3 - the ambiance is great if you like a small restaurant- with maybe 10 tables and 500 sq ft of space, this restaurant has character and charm. 4 - the service was outstanding. The staff were kind and efficient. 5 - the dessert was just OK - had some scoops of ice cream and the peanutella was outstanding while the strawberry and the pistachio were just fine. 6 - the appetizer cheese plate was the real highlight of the night here. Fresh cold cuts and cheese with the most wonderful fig jam. All in all; this is a good stop and you certainly won't have a bad experience! Perhaps just not the most notable.
