Oh my Gawd! This was the first place that we were taken to on our walking tour of the Foods of Milan, Italy. How dumb of the tour-guides to take us to the best thing we would have in all of Italy first. Any self-respecting tour-guide knows that you build up to something like this! There is no topping these morsels of heaven! So, to start here first...Stupido! I'm kinda joking... but kinda not. This really was one of the best things that we ate while touring Italy for about 3 weeks. That statement is going to make me seem like a hillbilly white-trash unsophisticated American, but I am not kidding when I say that the flavors, and the textures that go into the fresh dough really make an impression on one's taste buds. The ingredients are actually deceptively simple. You gotz'a da pizza dough, you gots da tomato sauce; den ders'a bit of-a melting cheese (formaggio de mozzarella). You combine all dat with'ah da little bits of'a chopped pepperoni. Den you puts it in da oil for a leetle beet. Serve it all, "hot an'ah steamy" in a wax-lined paper napkin and jeest getta you taste-buds a' ready...Eez gonna be multo bene! *I was going for an Italian accent there. (Food like this makes me wish that I too, had that Italian-genetic-abnormality where they can make food that is 37% tastier than non-Italians.)
If you find yourself in Milan and you want to impress the people you are there with, suggest this place. From the moment they take their first bite, you are going to be seen as a culinary god who knows his or her way around the best eateries of Italy. They will never doubt you again (not just in regards to food...but on any subject). And, if you are traveling with someone who you are beginning a romantic relationship with, I promise that the look in their eyes will forever change. I can almost guarantee that the way the see you will be something along a mixture of adoration and deep desire to sire children with you.
