Our porch was in extremely bad shape and required a very complicated series of fixes, which we were already aware of after having hired an independent structural specialist who detailed everything that needed to be replaced, to bring it up to code. In addition to the termite damage, rot damage and poor construction of our original porch, we made the mistake of initially hiring a different contractor, who scammed us and damaged the porch even further, making the rehab even more challenging.
