I had a great experience recently with MPW! I just moved into a building with a living room that I…read moresought to flex into 2 bedrooms. I put in a request on a Tuesday for a Thursday build and they were able to make it happen!! I was immediately impressed by the quick turnaround and prompt email communication. Margaret informed me that the contractors would arrive between 8:00-9:00am to get it done before 3:00pm. My previous experiences with some contractors led me to believe they would arrive a bit later than anticipated... but lo and behold, at 8:00am sharp they arrived! Arby walked me through my options and we plotted out both rooms and dimensions with his handy dandy tape measure. He answered all my questions, made some great suggestions, and maintained that he would be happy to do whatever I wanted. He and his building partner worked efficiently and communicated with me via text to let me know how much time they needed. We got sliding doors + t-wall construction and couldn't be happier with the result. Though it was a bit more costly than my roommate and I anticipated, the positive experience and the high-quality of the walls (plus the cost of removing the walls is all included as long as you give them 1 month's notice) made me feel happy and at ease. If I ever need temporary walls again, I'll be coming to MPW! My one tip: double check with the building and management regarding their flex walls rules! This wasn't MPW's fault, but my building prohibited floor to ceiling walls, which was a bit disappointing to find out for privacy reasons. Know your building policies!!

The wall held up really nicely the past 3 years and our guests were always so surprised to learn that the wall was a flex wall and not a part of the apartment's original layout. The removal process was also super seamless. We reached out via email 4 weeks in advance and made arrangements for them to knock it down. They're incredibly responsive and on the day of the removal, the team arrived on time and were done about half an hour later. Highly recommend!

I can't complain about the remodeling of my kitchen. These were installed but were defective. He never made any attempt to correct the situation. I ordered two doors for a closet and bedroom and paid for them in full ($1000). They never installed them despite having charged my card and making multiple appointments to do so. In addition he never even called to cancel the appointments. Just a lot of no-shows with no response to my texts or phone calls. Very unprofessional I received a refund for the doors of $900. When I questioned Sam he said I would receive the additional $100 in a few days. I never did. But he was quick to charge my credit card (without asking permission) I might add. I cannot in good faith recommend this company. However, if you are into stress, wasted time and effort, this firm is for you. Otherwise do yourself a favor. Pay a little bit more and find someone who respects your valuable time. And STAY AWAY!!!

I was planning to renovate my bathroom and kitchen of my apartment in 2018. I decided to work with…read moreHome Depot on West 23rd street and they set me up with Above Remodeling Corp(ARC) to do the job. Dealing with ARC was a complete disaster. The work started in mid-June 2018 and was supposed to be completed by Labor Day as Home Depot/ARC promised. But, I did not sign the completion form until March 2019 (even though there was ceiling work left to do - to repair damages sustained during the renovation). As the renovation began, there were periods when ARC did not show up for days at a time. When they did show up, they continued to work beyond the hours permitted by my apartment's management. So at one point, my super denied them access to my building for three days. The quality of their work was completely unprofessional. Some issues included the kitchen cabinets having holes for some bizarre reason and the ceiling was damaged as I have mentioned. But, the most egregious issue was that I could not get hot water from my newly installed shower. The water was lukewarm at best. Although I pointed this out to the ARC supervisor, he instead told me that there were new NYC regulations that limited water temperature. So, I called the shower manufacturer and found out that the temperature for the shower was installed incorrectly. I passed this information to the ARC supervisor and they finally fixed it. In the end, I did not have a hot shower for three long weeks. The district manager from Home Depot had to get involved by October 2018 for ARC to start working consistently and fix the problems. In November 2018 the ARC supervisor asked me to sign the completion agreement even though the job was not complete. ARC finally fixed the tiles in the shower in January 2019 but refused to fix the ceiling. I finally gave up on ARC and signed the completion form and got Home Depot to contact another contractor to finally fix the ceiling. The new contractor fixed the ceiling in just 90 minutes. If you use Home Depot and ARC- it will be a terrible experience with many delays & work quality issues.

These guys are professionals and they are honest and reliable. Seems like a low bar, but the truth is I've been unfortunate enough to have experienced a nightmare renovation with a terrible contractor so I was putting this renovation off until i had no choice but to move forward with it. I simply didn't want to have the same experience I had before. I found them through Angie's list and they were very prompt with setting up a meeting to get a quote, they were on time, they were open and honest about the job, and probably most importantly, I got a good vibe from Vigan, the owner. After having considered other quotes, I knew Batusha was the way to go. I messaged him and off we went. He sent me a digital image of what the deck job would look like when finished, he sent me his plans to stop the flooding in my basement with the sump pumps, and I approved it, and the work started. The work was done in a timely manner, he was always in constant communication, and he delivered exactly what was promised. The quality of the work is excellent and there were no corners cut. The pricing was absolutely fair, and I will 100% use him again for my future renovations. Once you find a contractor you can trust, that becomes your guy. Vigan is my guy going forward.
