Southwest Chicken Sandwich - before the Avocado chunks fell out -
    Ron M.

Went to Zero One Restaurant & Brewery for dinner with a large group of friends before attending a concert nearby. We arrived in plenty of time to order our drinks, look over the menu, finish up, and make the concert. There were a couple of servers for our group, and they helped out a lot. We ordered our drinks and then our dinner after going over the menu. My wife decided on their "Harvest Chicken Salad"; mixed greens, Chicken Salad, stuffed Avocado, Strawberries, Apples, drizzled with House Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing. I am having the "Southwest Chicken" Sandwich; Chicken Breast covered with Pepper Jack Cheese, with Avocado, Green Chiles, Tomatoes, Jalapeno Mayo on Sourdough Bun. Served with French Fries, I opted for Sweet Potato Fries instead. While we waited for our food, which we knew would take some time due to the size of our group. The food started arriving, and my Wife's Harvest Chicken Salad had a different look to it - a huge pile of Chicken Salad right in the middle with their Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing drizzled on the pile of chicken. The Chicken is shredded and mixed in with what you would call a Chicken Salad - not shredded Chicken throughout the salad, as you would expect. My wife said it was okay, just a different way of serving. I had some and I thought it was more of a Chicken Paste type of serving. She also said there was literally no dressing on the salad itself, just on the pile of Chicken, and very little of that. My Southwest Chicken Sandwich looks really good with all that cheese melted on the Chicken Breast. That was about as far as it went - just looking good. The large piece of Chicken was dry and a little chewy. The Avocado chunks on top of the chicken (and a lot of it) were all brown. I removed some of them, but in picking up the sandwich, I squished the rest of the Avocado chunks in with the sandwich itself without realizing they were brown. The Jalapeno Mayo and the Chiles added the much-needed spice. The Sourdough Bun was some very tasty stuff - I loved that. The Sweet Potato Fries were way overdone - almost black in color, which took away from the taste of the sweet potato. My wife was thinking of ordering the 8-oz Sirloin Steak, and was glad she didn't. Two people sitting with us ordered the Sirloin and both of them returned their steaks "twice", for not being prepared the way they requested. The restaurant stepped up and took the steaks off their bill. That was really nice of them to do just that. Most of the chairs here have torn seats or are badly cracked. Not a good sign of maintenance. My wife and I were here a couple of years ago, and her Pork Nachos were pretty good, but my Tri-Tip Tacos had tough ends. After this visit, I don't think we will come back here, even if someone asks us to meet them here for lunch or dinner.

    Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl

The ahi tuna poke bowl is a new item you must try on these hot summer days in Texas. It's super refreshing and tasty. Both the poke cream sauce is light and tangy while the house teriyaki sauce is also light but tart and slightly sweet. A little of both go a long way. The ahi tuna is super fresh and flavorful. For $17 its a great value buy meal.

Flies, flies, and MORE FLIES!. It was if some satanic force had taken over the sidewalk cafe area in front where we sat with our dog. But was this the restaurant's fault? Could they control this force of nature? Food, eaten between constant swatting, was nice, I think. Like the beer tasting, my mind was realing with so much revulsion over the Fly ATTACK from Bezzelbub, I've no idea. Service was cheerful throughout, explaining that San Angelo was a Fly Mecca, and most residents we're accustomed to the pests!. Hey, management CLOSE the cafe during Natural Disasters

The beer flight - plenty for my daughter and I to share this flight and a burger
    Lynne P.

Great place to grab a burger and a beer flight. We tried the following beers: Friday Night, Rhinestone Blonde, Mother Earth and They're After Me. My favorite was the darker beer - They're after me The burger was just ok but the service was excellent - very friendly waitress! Food - 2 stars, beer 3-4 stars, service: 5 stars

    Pork nachos

Holy Salt Ballz, I could feel my ankles swelling as I was sitting there eating the Pork Nachos. I really wanted to like them but between the salt on the chips and the salty pork I couldn't eat anymore.

Came here for dinner and drinks and loved it! We each had a stellar IPA and the pork tacos. They were fantastic! All the TV's were full of current games- this place would be an awesome game night spot. Cant wait to come back and try something new.

    Cheddar Blanket Burger!

The place had a great atmosphere. Friendly prompt service. I will definitely come back to try something different. P.s. Do not get the cheddar blanket if you don't love cheese. Because that's just what it is! So soooooo delicious!

    Thai Red Curry Chicken

In town for a couple days & found the Ale House on Yelp. Reviews & pictures looked solid so gave it a shot and enjoyed it. The restaurant is located in downtown San Angelo along an area of buildings that have some history. The location appears to be an old firehouse and the decor is simple but works. Asked my server Barbara what her recommended dishes would be & she provided a few (including their monster cheese burger which sounded great) but I opted for the Thai Red Curry Chicken & Shrimp with the Duck Wing appetizer. Asked for the wings to be cooked a little longer because I prefer them crispy and they came out perfect! Hadn't tried duck this way prior but I really liked these - the green curry sauce was delicious! Unfortunately, my main course came out just after my appetizer plate so by the time I started to eat it, it wasn't as hot as I would've liked but the ingredients worked well together and I enjoyed the meal. Service was good. I was able to get drink refills & napkins as needed. If I'm ever back in the area, I may have to try that cheese burger next time!!!

    Pork nachos! Yum!

Nice place with good beer, good food, and good service. We really enjoyed the pork nachos (yum!) and a 7-layer paradise. Service was quick and friendly, and the bartender knew how to make a good drink.

    Salmon with garlic mash, delicious!

Great food and service. One of the best salmon entrees that I've ever had. We also had the berry cobbler which was delicious.

This is a do not miss stop! We were on the way to Austin from Carlsbad Caverns on a road trip and…read moreread about this place. It was an awesome experience. Very rustic, diamond in the rough but so nostalgic. It reminded me of my old elementary school in Alabama. Nice, clean bathrooms. They even have the gym available for use and its kids friendly! There's inside and outside seating. It's like in the middle of some farmland and can be hard to see from the street but look closely and use the coordinates from the website. Make sure to get the hours off the website too. Yelp is incorrect. So its an old 1920's/1930's school turned into a very real brewery and restaurant. Our host knew all the history and toured us through the place even showing us how he makes the beers. The food was pretty good! The best thing we ordered was the beer battered fried fish and that was some of the best battered fish I've ever tasted... honestly. These people are so down to earth that the cook came out and spoke with us. So the place needs a lot of work but the restaurant side is put together and the seating is very nice. Its a local spot and I hope can stay open for the travelers and residents down through there. They have a lot of great ideas for the place and it would be awesome for the community and be a hang out for everyone. Please support them if you can. They're really nice, down to earth people.

Just a note to all that this is now Farm Ale House Brewing Company. Not Eola School House brewing…read morecompany. It changed names and owners Jan 2021. Completely new concept and owners now. Never saw wit before this new branding and ownership but man do I love the place as it is with renovations and changes! Chris the head brew master is a dope tour building tour guide and brewer while chef Matt is a true whiz in the kitchen as well. You gotta go see this historical gem with beer and food to please all.
