I know that's a bold statement, but it's the truth. The coaches at 3:16 are top-notch BJJ fighters with a wealth of knowledge. But here's what really sets them apart: they know how to teach. I've known a lot of people who are great at something, but they struggle to transfer that skill to others. That's not the case here. The team at 3:16 teaches through critical, rigorous training, all wrapped in genuine love and compassion. I've watched my boys grow--not just in skill, but in character. They get a break and the owner does not even tell him I brought in his water- I had to go and tell her and she still did not tell him he had water to drink. DO NOT bring your kids here- they can care less about your child if they can't even do something as simple as pointing to a bottle of water. This session was only $20 but I wouldn't even pay $0.20 to come again. No thanks I'd rather give my business to someone who would actually care about my kid.

It was a great open mat, I wish I was able to stay longer. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, the level of Jiu jitsu is very high at this academy. Got beat up a bunch and enjoyed the learning experiences. Thank you to Michael for beating me up but also taking the time to teach me as well - inside camping lesson both during the round and after. There aren't many academies that have a master walking around and mingling with their students. I was so lucky to be able to talk with master Machado and take a pic with him. I am really impressed by the staff and how they communicate with their students. Everyone, from Andreh, the owner, to the other instructors, I found them to all be patient, kind and encouraging to all the students. They were having a small ceremony where some kids were earning a stripe for their belt and one little girl was crying because she didn't get one. Andreh addressed the issue head on by explaining that everyone has to earn their stripe. I love how he used that situation as a learning opportunity. He spoke patiently and kindly to her, telling her that once she met the requirements, she too could earn a stripe. Their mission is to foster physical growth, mental toughness and gain real world self defense skills in a welcoming environment. I saw all of those things happen in front of me during the 20 minutes or so that I was there.
