Even with 30+ students in a class, there is still plenty of room to roll 2. Coaches The coaches have all trained under members of the Gracie family. Scott earned his black belt from a Gracie. There are always plenty of coaches and upper-belts on hand. Classes are never cancelled due to a coach being sick, on vacation, at a tournament, etc. 3. Tuition Everyone pays the same. No secret deals, no "because you're you" rates, no bait-and-switch offers. 4. Honest coaches. 5. Have kids? Our head coach is a youth pastor. He's GREAT with kids of all ages. 6. There are 12 adult classes a week to choose from. Muay Thai is available with the unlimited package, not an extra membership.

I know that's a bold statement, but it's the truth. The coaches at 3:16 are top-notch BJJ fighters with a wealth of knowledge. But here's what really sets them apart: they know how to teach. I've known a lot of people who are great at something, but they struggle to transfer that skill to others. That's not the case here. The team at 3:16 teaches through critical, rigorous training, all wrapped in genuine love and compassion. I've watched my boys grow--not just in skill, but in character. They're learning high-level jiu-jitsu, competing at a high level, and becoming better young men in the process. Because of that, at 43 years old, I decided to join 3:16 myself. So this part is for the men. Life, family, and business bring a lot of stress. I've turned to different things over the years to cope, but nothing helped quite like this. When you're on the mat, nothing else exists. You step into a mental space where the world's stresses melt away. It's the healthiest escape I've ever found. I highly recommend 3:16 to any man looking for a meaningful, effective way to deal with stress, anxiety, and fatigue. The techniques taught there are top notch. I was able to hit the moves of the day instantly which is a rarity for me. Will definitely return for training if I am ever in town again.

That ain't as big a number as it may sound like. I was surprised that my wife for those decades was supportive of my beginning at such a school. I assumed then that her enthusiasm had something to do with a large life insurance policy on me that was in effect at that time, 2.5 years ago. The policy is lapsed, and she is still supportive, so maybe not. I am not a fast learner in this domain, but I am a learner. Sometimes I can even coach a move or two with my workout partners. Usually, I'm the hapless nail, rarely the hammer. This is not a bad thing. It is necessary. The people who show up and continue to show up to train seem to me to define a psychographic group that is a group that you benefit by being close to. Do hard things and keep doing them. Then do them some more. Then do them some more. Special people congregate here. Right here. Things change while practicing this discipline. For me, positively but slowly. For normal people, positively but much more quickly. This is the place to train and to get as effective as situations may require you to be later.
