Sue and Doug took Great care of us when we visited one Saturday afternoon. We got lucky and were the only ones in the tasting room for a short while. The tasting room is inside the cutest little log cabin! Note, it is quite small, and I think holds max 10 tasters comfortably. We tasted a number of lovely wines. And were quite taken by their Dolcetto and Tempranillo. Dolcetto is not a widely grown Italian varietal like Sangiovese.... it's a lesser known one that truly can shine on its own. I wish more places would grow and bottle Dolcetto. Zerba's Dolcetto is Rich yet Soft at the same time. I know... that doesn't make sense. It just hits your palate and you sigh.... and just want to take another sip and then another and then another. You get the gist. Their Tempranillo is another wine that hit me just right. Completely different from Dolcetto of course. There's no comparison. Both are Fantastic but for very different reasons. The Tempranillo has savory notes with noticeable tannins and acidity, and IMO definitely needs food. Doug invited us to take a peek inside their cave since we asked about the small walkway we saw that goes into the side of the hill. So, we got a look at the cave and the space. They were in the process of taking out their holiday decorations and getting ready to set up for a special event. If you're a club member, I could see how fun this would be! Lucky Folks! Zerba is super easy to find, right off the main highway. Highly recommend swinging by to taste some wine and pick up a bottle or 2 on your way to dinner or home or wherever. read more

Visited Zerba on a Monday afternoon. We had a dog with us so needed to taste outside on their patio on a very windy day but they had some sheltered spots that were calm with a nice view of some of their vineyards. They do not require reservations and when we visited we were the only customers. Dave served us and he was just the most hospitable and friendly host possible. Tasting was $15 but waived if you purchased a bottle. Enjoyed a wide variety of wines including a nice dry Riesling and a robust Syrah that we took home. It's just over the state line in Oregon so no tax on the purchase. Big thumbs up. read more

Cute tasting room and decent prices but I was not a fan of the red wines. I had read this was a go-to spot for stellar syrah but left pretty disappointed. If you are searching for reds that give some friendly competition to their Napa Valley neighbors, I would say your time is better spent at Walla Walla Vintners and Long Shadows. read more

I hate giving a two star review to a winery.... We had a good experience with one of the owners, they had just opened up after the pandemic and he did a good job attempting to interpret his wines. I do feel that they make too many wines and that perhaps they are a jack of all trades but a master of none... The wines we had were all pretty good, but not for the price. We did purchase multiple bottles. That would normally earn them a three star review. The two star review comes from an interaction I had with someone associated with the winery. A younger guy wearing an American flag tank top enter the winery and made the distasteful comment that he was trying to seek herd immunity during the pandemic. Little did he know that one of the customers there I just experienced the death of one of their employees, a front line worker with four children who died of COVID-19. Unfortunately, it changed our impression from a fun place to but I would say a more trashy impression that will be hard to not remember. The owners clearly have good intentions, they probably should be more careful about who they allowed to interact with their customers. And to the kid with the wife beater on... I don't wish Covid upon you or anyone that you care about.... Put on a mask next time and be considerate to the heroes that are keeping you and your loved ones safe. read more

Tom "stallion" and Courtney are amazing in the tasting room and the wines are phenomenal! They make you feel very welcome and very knowledgeable. Tasting fee is $10 and waived for bottle purchase. Suggested for anyone who enjoys more bold and dry wines. read more

Don't let the log cabin fool you, this place has classy and tasty offerings that are not pretentions but should be. At $5 refundable with a tasting fee you can afford to drink here. Their pour master gave us a few extra rounds of Petit Verdot and Port that were to die for. The Malbec was very young but can be aged a few years for best results. If you are a fan of Roussant, run to this place and buy them out. We didn't get to see the dogs though but so far none of the canine friends of the Winery Dogs of Washington have made an appearance. :( Their prices are low to moderate, technically a steal for the quality and award winning penchant. Enjoy the time here and bring food to enjoy your purchases with in their backyard. Gorgeous scenery and interesting antiques and trinkets on site. Cheers! read more

We visited a couple years ago while their new tasting room was still under construction. They were doing tastings out of a small office in the warehouse and there wasn't much charm. But, the woman doing the tasting was one of the owners and was able to discuss the wines intelligently, which is more than you get at a lot of bigger, "fancier" places. I wasn't "wowed" by the wines but they were very drinkable and we especially liked their dessert wines. The best thing about Zerba to me is that their prices were fairly reasonable compared to many wineries up in Walla Walla and the absence of sales tax means your dollar goes even farther down there in Oregon. Probably worth the drive, if you have the time. read more

I recently visited Zerba Cellars with a friend to have a glass of wine and visit. I have been to Zerba's several times, and have enjoyed myself and their wine. Although, this time my experience was not enjoyable so much so that I am leaving this comment. The tasting room is small so the server stood there the entire time engaging in conversation with us. The set up was really not conducive to a private conversation. The wine was mediocre, but more disturbing was the woman who was serving us, who was very opinionated and accusatory regarding Covid and the vaccination. Immediately, jumping to conclusions, and then attempting to argue her point she was rather rude. I am always open for other opinions and conversations, but it was clear that was not going to occur and this was not the time, nor the place to do it in a place of business. At least if I were the owner, I would be appalled to know that my employee was so rude to the customer. read more

I've been here several times and have never had a 'bad wine' . Friendly staff and they have a little shop with cool wine barrel crafted goods. Ask for the cave tour! They do not have food and the tasting area is rather small but they always have great wine. A must visit if you are in Walla Walla. Note, this is in Oregon not downtown Walla Walla. read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE NEWLY OPENED TASTING ROOM IN WOODINVILLE, WA: I tasted here on June 20, 2010; No Tasting Fee [Thanks to Marilyn for being so gracious; Meats, cheeses, dips, crackers etc were served her granddaughter & super cute dog were also in attendance] 9 wines were offered at this tasting: - 2008 Wild White [$16]: Chardonnay, Semillon, Rousanne, Voignier blend - dry, neat-nosed, clean finish, - 2006 Wild Z [$20]: Merlot dominant - this is a great deal - go get this one - 2007 Barbera [$30] with Sangiovese: spicy, peppery notes - 2005 Sangiovese [$28]: also soft, a bit of pepper - drink now - 2006 Sangiovese: not quite as supple as the 2005 [a tad more tannic] but shows promise - 2006 Syrah: bold, big fruit, big finish - 2007 Tempernillo: so soft & so quaffable - 2005 Cabernet: very fragrant, smooth perfect tannins - 2006 Reserve Merlot [$45]: expensive but big, fruity & steak friendly - 2006 Late Harvest Syrah: a scent of cherries, its fortified & not overly sweet Their website is zerbacellars.com - they make an impressive array of varietals; As noted, they are all approachable & food friendly [a winemaker's dinner is in order] This is certainly a welcome addition to the Woodinville wine scene [adjacent to Village Wines]- I encourage you to sample these wines; The flowers are now blooming turbulently right outside their door... read more

I loved this winery! It is much more smaller and initmate but I thought all of their wines were solid! Their port was amazing! They are located in the Oregon side of Walla walla so you wont get sales tax. It was one of my favorite wineries during our trip to Walla Walla. read more

Loved this little winery! The young man pouring in the tasting room was very personable and very knowledgeable about his product. They poured a good assortment including a dessert wine and port. The wine was good (I bought several bottles). And I appreciated that there were crackers there to go between tastes. The building was darling and made of harvested dead trees so they are ecology minded. Overall it was just a fun end to a day of wine tasting! Visited Zerba on May 28, 2015. I specifically chose this cellar because of their Italian varietals. We made the trip from Seattle, to visit Walla Walla and the new Rock's District AVA. Another couple was just finishing their purchase and so I looked over the open wines and the price list. None of the wines I wanted to try were among the open bottles. I asked the young woman pouring about tasting the Barbera, Nebbiolo, Dolcetto. She said not today. When I said that I had targeted this winery because of said wines, she said "If you come back on Saturday, we'll open anything, but today is Thursday". What?! I stated we were leaving on Saturday. She then said, "Well if you would like to try any of these". She had no name tag and did not offer her name.The wines here are by no means inexpensive. Buying without trying is a no. So, we left. Zerba is one of my favorite wineries in Oregon--and I've been to nearly 60! Although the tasting room in Dundee is closest to me, I was very excited to visit the main tasting room in Milton-Freewater this fall. I actually got to meet Marilyn and her cute pups. The tasting room is so unique because it's a tiny log cabin, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The tasting room server actually took us on an impromptu tour of their cellars, tucked into the hill behind the tasting room. I love every wine Zerba makes, and with such a great group running the winery, they're definitely worth a stop! read more
