We've been members of Rotie for quite a while, and we finally made it to a spring release in Walla Walla. What a great experience this was, with a great group of wine club members and customers there. The team at Rotie did an awesome job of welcoming us, and providing us with samples of the wine they were releasing for the spring. They complimented this with fresh made smash burgers that were really good. It paired quite well with the Northern Red Blend. We also attended the Seafood Boil event that evening at their processing facility, what a great event that was too! What a great setting, what a great staff, and what a great experience. read more

I had recently watched The Brutalist, and when I arrived here, that was the first thing that came to mind with the exposed concrete and massive geometric forms. It's such a beautiful and unusual setting, with vineyards on one side and striking concrete structures and rocks on the other. The contrast is stark, yet the way everything is laid out is absolutely mesmerizing.The tasting room sits perched above the rocks and offers a stunning 360-degree view of the surroundings. The overall vibe is modern, airy, bright, and minimalist. Needless to say, I was just as smitten with the setting as I was with the wines. We happened to be the only party there at the time, so we were fortunate to receive a lot of attention and time from both sommeliers. We had a lovely conversation with them about wines, architecture, food, and all the different things to do in the area.It truly ended up being one of the best experiences in Walla Walla for both my husband and me. This was our first time (at least that I can remember) trying Rhône blends, and we were definitely in for a treat. Both of us loved learning more about the soil and the flavor profiles of the wines in the area and spent a wonderful few hours here before taking their recommendations to visit some of the other great wineries in town. Interesting experience as this place came so highly recommended. We were left feeling meh....maybe our expectations were too high. The wine was ok, nothing spectacular. 4.5 overall. We three visited in July 2025. This was the 2nd visit for two us, and the first for our wine expert from Japan. Excellent tasting room. SERVICE: 5.0. Kerry took wonderful care of us. She was experienced and adjusted her presentations to our interests. She spoke in a way that ensured our guest from abroad could understand her. We did not feel rushed. We learned a lot about the wines and the vineyard. AMBIANCE: 4.5. The tasting facility was designed to provide an excellent experience, and it succeeds. Though the exterior appears forbidding as one approaches, the interior is welcoming and well-done. The tasting room is set high with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides, and includes tables set on an outside balcony. Absolutely stunning wines and the servers go out of their way to make you understand the uniqueness of these special, but pricey wines! They really made our experience here extra special. We visited a total of 14 vineyards over the few days we spent in Walla Walla. Rotie was a stand out favorite that will now become a regular stop on our trips! Their tasting is currently a 7 wine lineup, at this time 2 whites and 5 reds. However, the knowledgeable staff graciously poured multiple additional wines for us including 2 Rosé, and some reds. All of the wine was phenomenal, we didn't have any that we disliked! Ended up coming home with 2 bottles, which the cost ended up waiving the tasting fee. Our server (whose name I believe was Carrie) was FANTASTIC! Her, and the other woman working, kindly spent a lot of time chatting with us about their wine, which we appreciated the stories and background on! Lastly, the venue was stellar! Great tasting experience! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I loved the small feel of this beautifully situated tasting room even though it had ample space. The architecture is modern and sets itself apart from other vintners in the area. After tasting a few varieties we left with four bottles. My wife's favorite was the Southern White and mine was the Little g. There's an excellent selection with interesting bouquets and flavor profiles from the rocks district. Great wines, service and tasting room at Rotie. We brought a dog and normally would have to sit on the terrace which would have been fine. But the area was experiencing high winds so they were able to accommodate us inside. Tastings are $30 but waived if you spend $50 or more on purchases. They serve Rhône blend wines and we were able to try 2 whites, 2 rosés and 5 reds. All were excellent especially the 2 Grenache wines and 2 Syrahs. Coco and Liz were so friendly and informative. The tasting room seems to hover over the adjacent vineyard. And if you purchase some bottles like I did there is no sales tax because they are located just over the state line in Oregon. Highly recommend a visit if you are in Walla Walla. read more

This winery was hands down my favorite in the Walla Walla area. Not only because the Rhone style wine but also everything else about it. First of all it's so clean and modern. I didn't feel like I was hanging out at my grandma's house. Also, the staff is not pretentious. I thoroughly enjoyed everyone that served us and could honestly see being friends with all of them. We went there twice on our wine tasting weekend and they were always so accommodating and gracious. We went to 9 wineries in our 3 days. They have seating inside and outside that is in the shade with misters. (It was close to 100 degrees outside when we went there). If one can get past the grim, prison-like edifice of this winery, it's worthwhile. Honestly, this place looks like a facility to have your cattle slaughtered, rather than a place for good wine. With the money they charge to taste here, one would think they might have spent some time giving some thought of their appearances....evidently not. We'd never visited the wineries in Milton-Freewater, but our somm at Abeja recommended Rotie to us as a great way to get more acquainted with the wonderful wines of the Rocks, and boy--it did not disappoint! This tasting room is a beauty, rising up nicely above the valley floor with their second storey. The somm welcomed us in and right away insisted that my girlfriend get her own separate glass, even though we were sharing, as we always do. If those were half-pours, my goodness--the fulls must be epic! Just over the course of the hour or so we were tasting, the sun came out and revealed the Blue Mountains in all their glory. It was a delight to sit in front of the big windows and taste big reds. I thought the red blends were fantastic, but my favorite taste was actually the tannat that the somm opened up for us. Tannats are common in Texas but hard to find in the Northwest, so it was a delight to find a tasty one at Rotie. We were so taken that we joined the wine club. We can't wait to come back to Rotie again and will be visiting them even more frequently at the Seattle location in SoDo. read more

Rotie has the best GSMs and heaviest tasting pours in the valley. They have bubbles, clones, whites, reds, reds, and more reds. The swordfight and homage are crowd pleasers and hard to come by! We are members and are continuously proud of being so. Opening a bottle of Rotie has everyone at the table pleased. Little g and big G are so good! And their rocks location is so perfect and gorgeous for the scenery. I take everyone who comes to visit here because they treat you us so well, their wines are fantastic, and it's an easy unbeatable experience. This was our last stop of the day on a day filled with wineries while staying in Walla Walla. It was an excellent finish to the day with beautiful views and excellent wine. The wines here are mostly done in the style of the Rhône valley. I was particularly impressed with the little G and it had a great smokiness to it. Their rosé was also quite nice. However my favorite was their sparkling rosé. It was so fresh and crisp and I just could see it pairing with so many different things. Just "Wow." My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting this exceptional winemaker in the Rocks AVA just outside of Walla Walla. We were immediately impressed with how lovely the very modern tasting room was...elevated enough to see the fields of vines growing on all sides with plenty of outdoor patio space available. The wine is some of the best in the area. Crafted by a master blender, the offerings produce robust taste with a velvety soft touch. Nearly every bottle offered can be ready to delight as young wine, or kept to develop additional character over time. We are on our honeymoon and we've been on a road trip through the coast these last 2 weeks. We started in Napa Valley and have worked our way north and we were recommended Rotie Cellars, and we are beyond happy with that recommendation! So disappointing!!! So many better wineries in the area. The atmosphere is nice but the wine is marginal, at best. We've done 9 wineries in two days (plus two tastings downtown), none of them charged $30 per person for a tasting. This was the only winery we did not buy a bottle from. Our server all but pushed us into buying a $65 bottle "because the wine is only $5". The couple we were with bought a bottle "as it's only $5." I paid their ridiculous tasting fee (highest in the area) out of principle. Not worth the tasting fee and don't be pressured into buying a wine you don't like. There are to many places with great wines at good prices. Think twice before visiting. read more

Oh YUM did we LOVE Rotie's wines!! Nicely located tasting room upstairs with a bird's eye view of a major intersection in downtown Walla Walla. It's a small operation with a friendly and fun approach to winemaking. This was taken directly from the Rotie website: 2008 Southern Blend 100% Tank Fermented with Malic fermentation stopped completely makes this wine super crisp. The Rousanne was grown in Horse Heaven Hills while the Viognier was grown at Seven Hills East in Walla Walla AVA. We're excited about this wine. Mostly because I can't wait for the 100 degree day I get to crack this baby, chilled to 40 degrees, poolside with my new banana hammock. Come get some. We bought several bottles after tasting there twice over the weekend! It was the Autumn Release weekend so they had a nice spread of meats and cheeses out that complimented their wine selection. Seems like many of the local wine industry folk like his wines since it was recommended to us by several people and we kept bumping into staff from other tasting rooms during our 2 visits. No tasting fee the weekend we were there. This will probably be our first winery destination when we head out to Walla Walla again. Look for Rotie to climb the wine charts soon! read more

The little tasting room was well lit and right downtown I really liked the gal who served the wine. She was friendly, later back and personable. Unfortunately I was not crazy about the wine.
