Such a great place! Very pretty and a fun ambiance. They have great food and drinks! The seafood platter appetizer is a must!!!! Try the Da vinci code drink if you like something strong but yummy. The expresso martinis are fabulous! Alex and Anna at the bar are AMAZING!!!!! They were the highlight of your trip to Gaylord. Fun, sweet, patient, hard working and they both made fabulous cocktails all night. Trina at the hostess stand is great as well!! So sweet and accommodating. Bar - sadly no draft beer, but a couple decent Italian bottles. Interesting and unusual cocktails; be a little cautious, may not be to everyone's taste. Calimari nicely done, split a house salad and it was plenty and tasty. Seafood pappardelli, recommended as best pasta by waiter, was surprisingly good, the lobster bites plentiful, if a little chewy. The bolognese wasn't shabby either. Enjoyed sharing the pasta dishes. Oh, and say yes to the bread, it's small delicious foccacha, redolent of rosemary, coarse salt and olive oil. read more

So the restaurant menu has completely changed. They start you off with water and bread. The bread comes with a tomato olive oil dipping sauce and is good traditional italian bread. We had the pepperoni pizza to start. A good size for personal pizza. The crust was good and crispy and good pepperoni and cheese quality. The sauce is a little chunky for me but overall decent pizza. The lasagna is delicious! So much flavor and so good! I had the carbonara. The poached egg was a nice touch and the sauce was good. I do wish it had more meat, it only had a small sprinkle of basically bacon, but still tasted good. If I ordered it again I would probably order it with chicken or something protien added. We finished with a baked Alaska for dessert. It was a great way to end the meal. Very tasty. Overall the flavors are good, but it is a little pricey. When they changed their menu the prices increased as well. As far as eating at the gaylord, this is a good tasty option, but still pricey. read more

Great Italian at the Gaylord Like the Gaylord Texan, this place is big and beautiful. It's open air in a totally controlled environment. Well, that's sort of an odd comment but you have to experience the venue to understand it completely. For something that Open Table said reservations were difficult to get, it was pretty empty when we got there and never really filled up while we were there. Our server was really great. So I was at the Gaylord Texan for a conference and booked a reservation online through open table because I figured the hotel would be packed with people trying to eat. It was very easy to make a reservation. So Monday night, we got seated at a table in the atrium on the courtyard like area. The ambiance is amazing! They had bread and marinara/olive oil for dipping and it was delicious! I ordered the prosciutto parmesan pizza. It had figs and balsamic on top of it and it was SO GOOD! I also had a bite of the carbonara (fantastic) and the meatball from the spaghetti (delicious). All the food is plated beautifully and the quality is top notch. For this quality, you would expect the prices to be sky high, however, they were fairly reasonable! The service was great, but pretty slow... and we were trying to do group events with our team so this was a bit of a problem. We finished with the house made tiramisu and it's served from a large bowl and served individually. This was just what I needed. I recommend this place if you're staying for a conference! read more

Pros: Excellent service from wait staff Cons: Food was just so-so, not to mention expensive I ordered the seafood buccatini. The red sauce lacked salt (and I am NOT someone to put a lot of salt on my food) and the mussels were gritty. I did not finish my entree, although I did pick through and eat all the shrimp. My friend ordered the chicken marsala and she said it was excellent. Skip the lemon pop-tart dessert unless you really do like stake pop-tarts. The mousse was excellent, though. read more

This place is great! It's in the Gaylord Texan Resort and is a must if you're looking for quality Italian food. My husband and I came in on a Monday evening (we were staying at the hotel) and were immediately seated, although it did sound like reservations were encouraged and we didn't have one. Our server was really sweet and attentive. The bread selection that they give you to start is wonderful. I had the burrata salad (shared) and the spaghetti and meatballs. Mama Mia! Not sure why this place is three star? In my book, this should be four to four and a half star. The salad and appetizers were great and tasty. I had their house salad and we all shared different appetizers. All very good. My food was lamb chops, and it was done to perfection. The desserts were also all good. We shared the desserts too since sharing is caring, I guess! Tiramisu, cream brûlée, different flavor a of ice cream and more! I wish I would have take a picture of all the desserts for not anything else. But I took a picture of the wine we had. I should not forget about that. I am going to get the negative out of the way. Holy crap, this place is expensive! My husband had eaten there before, but it was my first visit. Our tab ended up being $104 + tip for just the two of us. This is definitely a restaurant you go to treat yourself but not too often. The rest is all good. We started with the tomato crostini, which was bruschetta with fresh shaved parmesan cheese. So. Fricken. Good! I could have seriously made a meal out of this! Perfect amount of seasonings. I chose the papardelle with lobster and shrimp. The pasta was served al dente and had freshly grated cheese added at the table. It was really good and wasn't as filling as I was expecting. My husband had the pistachio salmon with brussel sprouts and carrots, minus prosciutto. This was the star of the dinner and if we return, I will definitely order this! The service was incredible. Our waitress was attentive without being a pest. She checked on us frequently and our water glasses were never empty.The ambiance is romantic and the restaurant is open and airy. We were very pleased by our choice for dinner. The wait staff was very attentive, and the food was absolute perfection. We have certain dietary restrictions and they accommodated graciously, even asking about any allergies upon checking in. My wife raved about the pasta she had which was a housemade gluten free fettuccine. I even enjoyed it. The mushroom risotto was equally delicious and the notes of each ingredient could be tasted in it. Topping it off with the chocolate orange mousse made it a very memorable meal. read more

Overpriced. Our party of four had a total of two glasses of wine, two salads, four entrees, two desserts and two regular coffees. With tip, just under $250. My wine tasted as if the bottle had been open for awhile and, at $12/glass, I expect better. Our entrees were all good but at these prices the food should knock your socks off. My seafood pappardelle was shy on seafood and the pasta was overcooked. I don't think it was fresh-made. I tried my wife's salmon and it was tasty, but again, at these prices it better be. Desserts were good and the presentation really nice. Our server was obviously very experienced but either arrogant or very nonchalant, I'm not sure which. The Gaylord is really something to see, especially at Christmastime but next time I think we'll pass on Zeppole. read more

We had the pleasure to try this wonderful Italian restaurant for dinner and it was the nicest experience during our weekend stay at the hotel. We didn't make reservations and although we could have been seated within 15 minutes, we opted to dine bar side. Service was great and attentive. Our bartender made excellent recommendations on drinks and dinner options. We choose to try the Lamb Chops and the classic spaghetti with meatballs. Both were delicious and we kept picking off from each others plate all nigth. My Lamb was accompanied by the most amazing gorgonzola pear. Located in the glass atrium portion of the resort was beautiful. You feel like you are outside yet you are really inside in an air conditioned romantic location. You really can't go wrong trying this place. I highly recommend the Lamb. read more

Incredible dining experience with Kimla at Zeppole! Our food, overall experience and especially the service with Kimla was a 10! We came for dinner and we were super impressed that the hostess desk asked us if we have any dietary restrictions they should know about. I really appreciate this question, and as a vegetarian, was so pleased to know they would already notify the server, so that I don't have to explain myself. I was even more impressed that they were very quick to modify a standard salad for me! So great! The manager Isabelle also checked in on us during our meal, and was just so welcoming! Our server Kimla, was a shining star. She went way above and beyond to make our experience so special. Our food was absolutely wonderful, and the best food we had during our stay in Texas. The décor and ambiance are so chic, and it really feels like you've been transported to Europe. Bottomline: overall disappointing, especially for the price. First, the good stuff. The bread and sauce were WONDERFUL! I had seriously high hopes based off of them. Then, I ordered a dinner salad with creamy balsamic dressing and it was also fantastic. I'll dream about that salad. My husband a caesar salad. It was so served on a wedge. It also had whole anchovies across the top. Of course, we understand that traditional caesar salad DOES include anchovies, but whole anchovies were a bit much. We didn't order the salad from the menu- it was a suggestion. Had we seen that the salad was a wedge and included anchovies, we would've gone with something else. The main course. I ordered Saffron Pea Resotto. My husband had Spaghetti and Meatballs. Our 8yo had pepperoni pizza. First, it took about 30 minutes to recieve our main course, after recording our salads. When we recieved our meals, my husbands plate had obviously been under the warmer a while because it was VERY hot. The hottest plate I've ever touched in a restaurant (and I worked food service for 10 years). I'm surprised it didn't break. The sauce was not good. I've had canned sauce with more flavor. He told me not to even test the meatballs. He said they were equally flavorless. I was very excited about the Saffron Resotto. But, I was disappointed. First, either the Saffron was excluded or was stale, because I couldn't taste it. The resotto was clumpy and mushy. The whole dish was much too salty. Our daughter only ate half her pizza, but we hoped for satisfaction from her plate. The crust was VERY GOOD. Very soft- just like the dinner rules, but the sauce had no flavor. For an 8 yo to not eat pizza, that says a lot. She isn't picky. She eats school pizza and Tostinos. The service was ok. The servers responsible for water and bread were great! They were very attentive. Our actual server lagged a little. Also, when the notoriously hot plate arrived and we commented on it. He snidely commented to the expediter, "Oh yes, you have to tell them the plates are hot." The manager was friendly and greeting people. We didn't complain to him because this seems like a systematic issue. The food was just lousy. Maybe it was a bad night, but we won't try again. read more

I'm always alittle suspect eating Italian outside the Northeast but I must say this place is pretty good for cowboy Italian. I decided to eat at Zeppole's while staying at the Gaylord Texan resort on business. The food was good I tried the fried calamari and caprese salad and all was good, for dinner we had the sesame crusted seared tuna...little tough but good, the pork chop with a mushroom sauce was excellent! My only advise is that the waiter should know the difference between gnocchi and polenta. He insisted that my tuna came with gnocchi but every Italian knows it was polenta..... fun place give it a try! read more

Pleasantly surprised with Zeppole because my experiences in general with the Gaylord restaurants weren't great. First, if you're in for a convention (because of course you are), make a reservation on Open Table because they get slammed with groups. We did this and were spared a long wait because most people don't think ahead. Atmosphere is nice - they've strung up lights to make it feel more "Italian" and the atrium setting is certainly pleasant. We started with Eggplant Parmigiana ($10) which was really good. The eggplant wasn't greasy at all, and it was appropriately cheesy. They'll also start you off with bread and oil - my tip is to save that bread to mop up sauce. Entrée wise, there are 8-ish pasta choices and the same for meat/seafood dishes. I picked a pasta dish that had fennel and Italian sausage in a creamy sauce ($21) and it was really flavorful and a HUGE portion. There's a decent wine list with plenty of options by the glass. Service for us was good - our waiter was enthusiastic and did the whole "upsell" thing but not in an obnoxious way. Prices on everything are higher than they need to be, but that's the Gaylord for you. You're here, you're captive, you can definitely do worse. read more

Took a client here for dinner along with some colleagues. We opted for the fried calamari which was light on the calamari and had way too much zucchini, apples (??) and other items mixed in. Additionally, it was a bit greasy and not very crisp. I opted for the Tuscan soup instead of a full entrée since the calamari was so heavy. The soup was a bit flavorless and needed a good amount of cheese and pepper to make it palatable. I also took a taste of a friend's parpardelle which was okay, if not a bit too sweet. The service was friendly and the wine list was extensive and quite reasonable. I just did not find the food to be very Italian. read more

Really nice place to grab a bite to eat! It's located inside of hotel. It's easy to find and full of really delicious meal choices. We were in a bit of a hurry when we came to eat, but this place was able to seat us and get our orders taken right away! A friend and I decided to split salad and pasta so we started off with the Zeppole House Salad which was a super delicious salad... greens, pears, onions, cheese. SO ONO. The flavors were perfect! The Rigatoni Pasta Rigatoni Alla Vodka was really flavorful and filling. We both really liked it! I was so hungry that I didn't even get any pictures of the food... It was prepared and served beautifully. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is staying at the Grapevine or those who live local and want a really nice place to eat! Having read some of the previous reviews I have to say, I'm confused. Our food was absolutely fantastic! From the starters that we order to our main courses it was all mouth watering delicious! The chef even took the time to come out to our table to accommodate special food requests. We were all stuffed and happy after our meal. Our server was also on his game and service was fast. 4/5 stars because they ran out of the alcohol I was drinking so I had to switch up from my tantalizing drink to another. We almost didn't come here due to some of the negative reviews on here. I am so glad we went anyway and I wanted to share how wonderful our experience was. It was amazing service and phenomenal food. My kids loved it as well- both the scenery and food. My daughter and I walked by the kitchen to see the beautiful herb garden use by the chefs. So cool! It was also my birthday and I was touched how everyone from the hostess to the servers wished me a happy birthday, so sweet. We WILL be back! read more

Eight of us celebrated here on a Saturday night for my bachelorette party. We reserved a semi-private room off of the main dining/bar area and were met with a very attentive and courteous waiter. My drink was a bit watered down, especially for one with a $12 price tag. Dinner, however, was fantastic - I had the Pappardelle Pasta, filled with fresh Maine lobster, rock shrimp and saffron and topped with a tomato lobster sauce. Even at $28, this dish earned my loyalty. The caesar salad, though, was just okay... definitely not one I'd order again. Hopefully, I can return soon to try out more of the offerings on their menu. read more

My review is limited to the Christmas Buffet so it is very likely not representative of the normal menu. First, you need to plan plenty of time to get into their parking lot. Once I got a ticket, it took 15 minutes to slowly climb to the top to get a space. Once inside, I had to queue up in a rather long line to claim my reservation due to the significant amount of people who did not have a reservation waiting ahead. It was a limited Holiday Buffet at $80.00 per head, but they did a pretty good job of not stating that until you reached the check-in. At that point, they would tell the people what it was, wait while they held a family meeting, shook their heads no and walked away. When we got seated, first thing we asked was, "would you like filtered water?". Filtered from what? It was the first upsell, which I get. We ordered OJ and soft drinks that were included in the $80.00 per head, but they had no glassware so we deed to wait while they ran the dishwasher. We started on the buffet without beverages and honestly, the food was fine. Stanard Breakfast fare, turkey, prime rib, lamb, a few pastas, many types of breads, cheeses and salads. Food was plentiful, well-stocked, correct temperature; it was good. Service was pretty lacking. We would have to bus our own dishes and ask for water to be refilled; no big deal. When the check came ($511 for 5 people) it had an 18% service charge already added which was fine. I'm sure in a buffet like this, people don't tip properly. However, there was a line for gratuity and an additional calculation for another 18%, 20% and 22%. I asked the waitress is the 18% service charge was the gratuity. She said, "that goes to the bartenders, food servers, busboys, etc. Of course, it does. It was $72 for an hour of crappy service and I was one of her multiple tables in a buffet. I didn't think her earning power was $300 per hour. It may be a fine place for a normal meal, certainly if you're staying there, but never, ever on Christmas again. For a $511 brunch, I'd like to feel like a guest, not a burden. It took another 20 minutes to queue up to leave the parking lot. read more

We are here for a Christmas family overnight stay and decided this was the best place that had something for everyone. Service was wonderful and drinks were great. I agree with previous reviews of the seafood appetizer of shrimp, salmon, and calamari that it was way too salty. Everything else was very good and we love brick oven pizza! Of course it was pricey because this is a resort. So to say the food wasn't worth the price is unfair. You must expect that at any resort. My husband and I split the chicken marsala and it was very tasty. read more
