This is one of the best Asian food establishments in DC! I highly enjoyed my meal. Every item I got was amazing and the service was impeccable. I didn't feel rushed while eating my meal and I was able to receive recommendations from the server. My stand out dish was the Zeppelin roll (of course) I will definitely come back and recommend this place to others!

Not authentic Japenese sushi. I've eaten hundreds of sushi places. To me, rolls are not sushi. The pictures on Yelp make it look great, but it's all smoke and mirrors. Even my food looked good but something was off. When my $200 worth of nigiri was brought out, it was just laid down and left. No one took the time to explain which pieces were what. The nigiri were almost warm and the fish had more of a mushy texture. Maybe the way it was stored or handled but it was consistent with almost every piece. The pieces like Kinmedai that are usually lightly seared, and over torched here. They charged me premium prices for o o'toro and gave me what looked like the leanest chutoro that I've ever tried. A mandatory 20% is added to the bill as a service charge. I was extremely disappointed I spent near $300 here. The service was amazing but doesn't make up for the food. One star added for that.

Ate here before going to a show at the Howard Theater. Went during happy hour where they have select cocktails for 50% off. First floor has the bar and some high top around. Beautiful cherry blossom decorated. Second floor, where we ate, was the main dining area and sushi bar. The sushi bar area is small, but assume it for their Omakase bar experience. Food was delicious and the fish was so fresh! The toro tartar was the favorite and truly flavorful. Would go back just for that. Service was excellent as well. Pricey date night type of place, but definitely worth it for the fresh fish and dishes. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes.

Loved eating here. Chic space with murals and fabric-covered walks and a retro metal bar filled with locals. We arrived hungry and had the garlic wasabi edamame with cocktails while we looked at the menu. The sashimi was fresh and pretty. Seaweed salad and tempura were amazing. Chaplin roll was our favorite but also got the soft-shelled crab roll (needed more crab, less filler), spicy tuna roll, and several others. All delicious. Service good, okay wines by the glass, and a great atmosphere. Found street parking a block away. Will be back!

Got some special rolls that were pretty fishy tasting, and they definitely use sesame oil in the rice, which is not how it should taste! Drinks were strong and good, but wouldn't come back for the food.

Excellent service, sushi, and drinks! Went here on a busy Thursday night and while there was noticable noise I had no issue hearing everyone at my table. I really liked the cocktails I got and I thought they were very reasonably priced for not being a happy hour. I definitely enjoyed the sushi but it wasn't so amazing that I feel like I need to come back for it--although I usually get takeout sushi from small businesses (not full blown restaurants). Overall I thought this was a chill spot for drinks and light bites. A bit expensive (not overpriced for what you get) fora full dinner, so I will most likely be back for happy hour.

Stopped in late on a weekday night for some cocktails. We were the only people in the bar so service was good. They had booths, high tops, and bar seating. We had 4 different cocktails and they were all delicious but the Dragon Palace stood out the most. Highly recommend! I will be back to try the food as well.

A very chill, everyday kind of sushi vibe. On Tuesday the Sake is half price by the bottle, and you should certainly go. Zeppelin is not a fancy sushi place, though they will do an omakase for $125, but a place with fast efficient service, decent sushi, and good prices. We made our own order and got a nice bottle of sake and had a great time for under $100 a person. We certainly left full and happy, and we were able to come in for a late dinner! Not a bad spot.

My date and I had an absolutely wonderful time when we stopped by for an impromptu date night. The food was so fast but fresh and delicious - we were so impressed! The drinks were strong and the patio is super dog friendly! Our waitress was the sweetest and made sure they knew about allergies.

5/5 experience. From the service to the food to the ambiance of the place. We sat at the bar were immediately greeted and given waters. Drinks and apps were delish. And the sushi omg the sushi so yummy and fresh! And good sized with lots of options. Dessert was also amazing. Overall a wonderful experience. Deff recommend.

Udon

The fish here is very high quality. Every roll I tried was excellent. I recently went back and got the udon soup and it was delish tho I wish it was a bit bigger. More of an appetizer dish.

I went to Zeppelin's with two girlfriends to catch up, when we arrived we had to wait a little to be seated. The person seating us seemed to be the manager who was running around a lot (didn't mind waiting). It took us a few minutes to get seated but when we did we were seen immediately. The aesthetic in the restaurant was beautiful, decorated for the holidays, good vibes. We ordered the edamame to start, which was good. We were starved so we did end up getting a second round. My only critique would be that the first round did not have as much salt as I would've liked so we asked for extra the second time. My friend ordered the miso soup which is pictured, she had to step out and I was impressed at how hot the soup was when it arrived. The Chaplin roll was good, a great combination of fish and well-balanced with the sauces added. The cucumber roll was alright but overall I felt the freshness of the cucumbers and the fish was not the best. I have had better sushi elsewhere in the city. The meal overall was good but not great.

Jake at the bar was a phenomenal server! He was honest in what to order in which I appreciate because most people are general in their recommendations. The Madai, Chu Toro, and King Salmon Nigiri are all a 10/10! Buttery, firm, and melt in your mouth delicious! He whipped up a mocktail that had passionfruit in it and I had to order 2 it was THAT good. Def my new spot for great and fresh sushi.

The place was pretty packed with everything from business to a bridal shower party. I really enjoyed how simple and inviting the place was for conversation. Being with other co-workers, I didn't want that place that I was screaming over everyone to have a conversation. More importantly, it wasn't that 20 year old vibe of being 4 deep at a bar begging for a drink. It was an elevated crowd that wanted a drink after work or a place to decompress. Oddly enough, there was even a guy there who whipped his laptop out to work while drinking and eat at the bar. Kinda different but hey, to each their own. Overall, this was a total win for me as it was still a weekday and exactly what I was looking for. Service at the bar was spot on and overall a secret win that Yelp help guide me towards. It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

The food at this location was great. The red snapper with the rice and tomatoes was very flavorful. The red snapper could have been cooked a little harder. However, other than that it was great. But I ordered a smoked margarita which had a great taste. The ambiance was wonderful. It was very aesthetically please. From the flowers on the ceiling to the rooftop overlooking the Capitol it was great. The roof top provided a chill vibe with low music. However, the experience started on a rough note. When checking in at the Marriott, the front desk agent was quite rude and incorrectly insisted the restaurant was already closed. The African American guy behind the counter definitely needs some etiquette lessons or at least needs to be trained if he is supposed to be the face of Marriott Capitol Hill. Fortunately, we went up to the rooftop anyway. They seemed short-staffed, but the bartender stepped in to serve us and was absolutely wonderful. Lighting could be better, IMO it's a little too dark for my liking. The food was also a bit hit-or-miss. The sweet chili shrimp appetizer was fabulous, hot, and featured a great portion size. For the entree, I had the Trout a lo Macho. The presentation was beautiful and it arrived piping hot, but unfortunately, the mussels were not cleaned properly and still had dirt in them. For the price, the food could have been a bit more polished, though the portions were appropriate. Pros: Great rooftop views, excellent bartender service, and reasonable on-site parking ($8/hr or $12 for 2 hours, which is great for DC).
