I've been bringing my son to Sharky's for haircuts since his very first one, and at this point it's…read morepretty embedded in our routine. He's five now, which feels like a long enough runway to have a real opinion. Overall, the experience is strong and, more importantly, repeatable. From a haircut standpoint, it's been consistently good with a little variation depending on the stylist. I usually ask for a longer, shaggy, surfer-style cut, and Reese has been the standout. She's calm, asks thoughtful questions before she starts, and most importantly, delivers the same result every time. That consistency matters more than anything. There have been a couple of one-off moments with other stylists where the cut skewed a little... medieval pageboy. Not terrible, just not quite what I was going for. It reinforced the strategy: find your person and stick with them. The setup is very kid-oriented in a way that actually works. Car-shaped chairs, individual TVs at each station, and a pace that keeps things moving without feeling rushed. They clearly know how to cut hair on kids who don't sit still, which is a real skill. The reward at the end doesn't hurt either. Lollipop, balloon, the whole thing. One especially thoughtful touch is their first haircut package. They take a lock of hair, package it up, and really make a moment out of it. It sounds small, but it's not. That first haircut sneaks up on you emotionally, and having that little golden curl saved has ended up meaning more than I expected. Logistically, it's pretty easy to make this work in real life. Booking online is straightforward, and during the week I've been able to get in same day or with just a day's notice. Weekends seem busier, but manageable if you plan ahead. They do occasionally run 15 to 20 minutes behind, but it's predictable enough that I just factor it in. One small usability note: the booking system across locations looks very similar, and it's surprisingly easy to book the wrong one if you're not paying attention. I've done it. That said, they were accommodating and got me in anyway, which helped. The waiting area is a bit tight, but turnover is quick so it hasn't been a real issue. One thing that stands out over time is how comfortable they are working with kids who are constantly moving, negotiating, or just doing their own thing. Overall, this is a reliable, low-friction option that feels designed for how kids (and parents) actually operate. Not perfect across every stylist, but very solid once you find your lane.

I'm really disappointed with our experience at this Sharkey's. I'm a young mom, and while my…read more2-year-old was getting his haircut, the man cutting his hair became visibly frustrated every time my son moved his head. He wasn't crying or misbehaving; he was just being a toddler... looking at the screen, reacting when the door opened, and then focusing back on the toy car he was sitting in. Something else that stood out was that I had to dust the hair off my own son when the haircut was done. I watched the stylist use a lint roller and brush to clean up the previous child, but for us, he didn't bother. I ended up doing it myself, which made the situation feel even more dismissive. What really bothered me was how his whole attitude changed once my son's grandma (my mom) arrived. He suddenly became more patient and gentle. It made me feel like he assumed that because I'm young, I wouldn't speak up. I'm not someone who likes confrontation or causing problems, but that doesn't mean my feelings don't matter or that I'm not paying attention. And once I got home, I noticed one side of my son's haircut wasn't even cut correctly. The line around his ear is noticeably uneven, and it's really disappointing after everything that already felt uncomfortable. My son is normally very calm during haircuts, and we've never had an experience that made us feel judged or unwelcome. A place made for kids should be understanding, patient, and supportive of all parents. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case today, and we left feeling sad instead of cared for.

I've taken my daughter to Sc4kids a few times a year since 2020. My daughter has been getting the…read moresame exact style since 2020. However, the time before last (March of 2024) I took my daughter in and she was given a completely different style. My daughter was not a fan of this style. I asked my daughter why she didn't speak up when she was in the chair and she said she didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings as they had already spent hours on her hair so I assured her next time we went I would say something so she wouldn't get that same style. 03/21/2025 we show up to our appointment. I speak with the owner, Sonja. I show her pictures of what my daughter normally gets and is happy with and what she got the last time and how she did not like it. I was assured that she would get what she normally gets. The way that this salon runs is you leave your children and come back when they are finished-which again, never had an issue so I left. To my surprise, when I came back my daughter had half of her head done like how she normally gets it and the other half of her head was how it was done the same it was previously which she did not like. Sonja immediately says, "She wanted something different! She's growing up." I was a little confused in the moment because it wasn't what we asked for but it looked good regardless so I was happy...this was a mistake my daughter did not let me take pictures of her all evening and I knew it wasn't going to "grow on her" like I initially though 03/26/25 I reached back out to the salon. After all, I had family portraits paid for and booked that I was rescheduling due to my daughter being so unhappy with her hair I felt like I needed to vouch for her. I will attach screenshots below because that's where things got out of hand. I expressed knowing we should of said something before leaving but I was hoping my daughter would come around and since she is not she is old enough that I feel as I must advocate for her being we showed a picture of what we wanted and left the salon completely disappointed. I got a response within 2 hours that they'd be happy to fix the error or I believe a credit towards our next service. Well since I messaged them at work, I told them I would talk to my daughter and get back with them. 03/31/25 my daughter and I decided to get it redone. I reached out to notify them. No response. 04/2/25 I reached out again, no response. 04/03/25 I decided to call the salon and I spoke with Sonja. Sonja was quick to defend her stylist by saying "I've never had a complaint on her she's one of my best braiders." Again, I was not calling to complain, just to see if we can resolve the error. Sonia stated that my daughter asked for the style she currently had and was trying to put more blame on my 10 year old than acknowledging the fact that I showed her an image before leaving and it wasn't what was resulted. She even went so far to say that my 10 year old may have been feeling jealous of my new baby was in the salon for the first time and the stylist had more attention on the baby....UH NO. None of this had to do with my child's feelings toward her but I sat and listened as she talked down on my child and made it seem like it was her fault. Sonia stated her mom was sick and that's why she didn't call me back. I get it, life happens. She did offer to bring her back in to make it right. My daughter wants simple box braids not the cornrows she was given. (Well this particular visit her heard is half box braids, half cornrows....you read that right-I'll attach a picture as well) I sent a follow up message with the dates I was available, my phone number etc. I went home and spoke to my daughter and let her know I was told that she ASKED for this hairstyle..my daughter quickly said that wasn't true and when she sat down in the chair the lady asked her what she wanted and my daughter did her best to describe it but again she is 10 and can not describe what exactly she is wanting that was the point of the picture but I guess that did not get conveyed to the stylist. This lines up because as I was leaving I heard other stylist asking other children in their salon what style they wanted.. 04/09/2025- I have not heard back from Sonja. I'm getting frustrated with the lack of communication. I call. No answer, no voicemail. I'll let the screenshot explain themselves. Please avoid this place as she is clearly overwhelmed and can't handle her schedule at the time. Unfortunately this salon isn't what it used to be.
