We were seated by the window by a friendly Malaysian (I assume) auntie, given menus and two baskets of prawn crackers (how generous ey) as we skimmed through the choices of food. Went for the menu with the Chinese words because that's where the good stuff is ey! Hehe Anyway, I chose the dinner for us and we had fried rice, steamed chicken with fungi (takes 20 mins to prepare and no, it's not the fungi you think! It's herbal mushroom!), deep fried homemade tofu, and pot of Chinese tea for 2. So 20 mins of chatting and prawn crackers later, I will quote Gian, "you chose well Sarah". Yes, the food was amazing. SUPER delicious! And huge in terms of portions!! We had extra for lunch the next day! The steamed chicken with black fungi was very herbal, gingery and just plain delightful in terms of light flavours! It complimented the deep fried home made tofu super well because that was seasoned with Malaysian soy sauce, shrimp, spring onions and all kinds of robust flavours! Along with fried rice, it was TWO THUMBS UP FOR ME! Altogether it was 15quid per person, and FYI, I have a lot of left over for lunch haha it's like you're paying for 2 meals! The food was all pretty good. The Malaysian curry was superb, spicy and with loads of sauce it was a favourite. The salt and chill chicken was really tasty and it was a great size portion. The Sichuan char Sui was my next favourite and was cooked really well. I also enjoyed the peppered chicken which had loads of peppers and onions as well as chicken. The only dish I was not that keen on was the roasted duck which was just a bit to chewy and fatty. The staff obviously thought we did not have enough food as they then brought out some really tasty and authentic dim sum which they informed us was complimentary. It was a great touch. By the time the free oranges arrived I was stuuuuuuffed! I'm tempted to give it 5, but I'm gonna go with four. You could clearly taste the lemon grass, chilli and coriander and it worked so well. On the side I got spicy thin fries and spicy coleslaw, both were also lovely. Shocking rip off, about two bits of shredded beef in it and 4 veggies and the rest was rice. If I had got a couple of the dishes other people had chosen I may have actually cried in the restaurant. The prices are way way way to high. The quality and portion size is really really had. Okay so let's talk food - they advertise themselves as Korean but I would say that they are more of an asian fusion place with Sushi, Teriyaki, Udon and Yaki Soba all on the menu alongside the Korean BBQ, Hot Pots and Bibimbap. We decided to order up some appetizers to share, the first thing we noticed was how eye wateringly expensive they were. Let me take you through what we had Kimchi Pancake (£8.60) - easily the best dish of the night by a mile, it was flavourful and crispy and we loved it, but it wasn't even close to being worth almost £9. Chicken Gyoza (£6.90) - 6 pretty nice lightly fried dumplings, they had lots of filling and a nice enough flavour. It was another favourite dish at the table. Crispy Chicken Korea Style (£8.70) - the chicken I didn't hate, it was a good sized portion but it was pretty small pieces and chewy, I ate it but a few at my table didn't do back for a second piece. It reminded me of deep fried shredded chicken from a chinese take away. Deep Fried Aubergine (£8.60) - This was by far and away the dish that annoyed us most cost wise. We were expecting maybe cubes of battered Aubergine....but it was literally half an aubergine which had been deep fried, and some sweet miso sauce squirted across the top for nearly £9. Let's take a second to think about that - Half an Aubergine and a drizzle of sauce for NINE of Queen Elizabeth's British pound sterling. Shockingly over priced. Unfortunately things did not improve with my main and I genuinely could've wept when it arrived. I went for the Teriyaki Duck Breast (£10.60) this arrived as a small portion of overly fatty flavourless duck breast, sliced thinly with a tiny bit of greasy watery sauce and a side salad leaves - no veg, nothing. The rest of my table looked on at me with sympathy as I ate my dry duck and boiled rice which I had to pay £2.50 for. As you can tell I was utterly unimpressed with the value for money and at £25 per person I felt it was obscenely over priced for the food we were served. Especially given that I came home and had to have something to eat because I was still hungry. I am actually still really disappointed by the whole experience this morning as I write this. We normally order the Salt and Chilli chicken which (after vigorous and time consuming research, purely scientific obv) is THE best in EK. As are their Salt and Chilli chips. Their curry sauce is excellent, not too mild but with a nice kick. We've also tried the Beef Chow Mein which is a huge portion and has often done me 2 dinners - they certainly don't scrimp on the sizes in here. I've sat in before for their set menu, the place is a sea of black and red and very modern looking. The staff are helpful without being overbearing. A fantastic wee Chinese which is a must try if you stay in East Kilbride or nearby!

It meant you could keep your table all night and leave jackets etc. This was pre Yelping days so I actually don't have any pics of the food!! (shameful!) I went back last week, and again had a really nice meal, with great service. I made the most of the 5pm deal - 2 courses for £12.95. The portion size was substantial and a really tasty dish. After about 20 mins we had still not been approached to take our food/drink order, and some of the staff seemed to be standing around in a daydream while we tried to grab their attention. When we did order, our drinks (two cokes) took another 10 mins to get to the table. On the other hand, the food was speedy and was at our table in about 15 mins. The chicken sate burger was spot on, smothered in sate sauce and sandwiched between a soft brioche bun. The chilli chips coupled with the sweet chilli dipping sauce were a perfect combo. The Katsu Curry unfortunately came with a really tiny amount of sauce to accompany the chicken, which was a bit of a let down. Although slow to start, the food was good and the staff were very friendly and chatty. Plus, we used a 50% off voucher so we grabbed a really good deal for the meal and service. Will be back, but definitely not one to try and squeeze into your lunch hour!
