We had 7 of us total (supposed to be 8, but one friend couldn't make it), and split into two teams: 3 vs. 4. BABY!!! Teamwork is not optional here You need communication, quick thinking, and a good sense of humor because you will be stressed and laughing at the same time. We went through 4 different escape rooms: won some, lost some, but the real win was the experience. The friendly competition between both teams made it even better. It was giving "we are NOT losing to y'all" energy the whole time Now let's talk about the finale...THE PAINT BOMB. The white hazard suits?? The chaos?? The fun?? 10/10. That was easily my favorite part. Overall, it took about an hour, which was perfect for a group activity, not too long, not too short. My only con: the communication about the photos/videos. Apparently, you have to opt into text messages to receive your paint bomb pics, and nobody clearly explained that. Most of us opted out because...hello, spam?? So my group didn't get our content while the other team did. We had to go on a whole mini investigation and track someone down, which wasted time. BUT I will say that the staff was super helpful, and the manager ended up finding our files and sending everything the next day. So, it worked out, but it could've been explained way better upfront. Also, yes, they serve food and drinks (including alcohol), so if you're trying to make it a full "outside" moment, you absolutely can. We skipped it since we had a late lunch reservation right after, but the option is there if you're trying to get a little litty... Would I do it again? Maybe not regularly, but for a birthday, group outing, or something different...

We did have to constantly move out of the way during play. The staff were kind, accommodating, informative and just super cool! We appreciated being given instructions on the best package and the best games for our group's dynamic. Because it's a screen with no tangible objects, we probably won't go again, but this is certainly a cool experience for one time or to return to if you have huge discounts.

The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. We were actually about 5 minutes late and rushed there, but instead of making us feel stressed, they kindly told us to take our time and not worry about rushing. That small moment really showed how thoughtful they are. My family had such a great time, the kids were fully entertained and didn't want to leave. After we all checked in, we explored each of the room. Some were super difficult, some were "easy". Each room lets you know if it's more physical, mental, or team work/ communication. Because each room is timed, I felt like I was in squid game without the gore and anxiety from pending doom. The entire experience probably took me 2 hours to get through both times. There are a total of 6 sites to go through filled with ziplines, ropes courses and obstacles. After going through the orientation and the first site walk through, you're pretty much on your own! There are instructors walking around monitoring from a distance but that's all. I like that there are water stations at the beginning of each site. The instructors are all friendly and helpful. At $27 for off-peak, I was able to do 3 different races which took nearly 30 minutes. At the end of each race, you get stats and earn points which can be used towards merchandise. Paced the class well and generally just well done. Second time I went with my wife and our ten year old daughter to do the flowers with Xander. Another great experience with different techniques and again well done with just enough help mixed with freedom to work. We are already looking for more family blacksmithing classes to do. As a note, when I went in December it was a perfect temperature inside with the heat as it was cold outside. In April... even on a cooler day it was very hot inside (which is not a surprise given the heat of the fires) so make sure to dress safely but appropriately. They do have water cups and a refill station for bottles as well as ice for when you are too warm and need to cool off. Well done and other than I wish it was closer to me, zero complaints.

We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.). It was stress relieving and fun with the opportunity to damage and destroy inanimate objects in a normally civilized world. I definitely recommend if in the DMV area.
