For a walk in massage, I typically go to Dream Massage on Olive & Calloway. Today however, I decided to give Zen Spa a try because I ensupporting small & local businesses. Their prices were reasonable but the treatment I received was downright awful. I asked the receptionist at the front if it was possible to get a massage focusing solely on the head, neck & shoulder area. She said that would not be a problem because their massages were "customizable" and the masseuse would focus on the areas that I asked. Once I was ready, the male masseuse walked in, made absolutely no verbal contact with me, and began working on my upper & lower back. After 3 minutes I said "I was hoping to get a lot of focus on my head and neck" to which he just replied "I know". The massage itself was rough, and at sometimes painful. The masseuse seemed to have a very angry demeanor that was present during his massage. He also did not acknowledge me when I commented that he was causing me pain in my shoulder. Only 3-5 minutes of my 30 min massage was dedicated to my neck & head. Overall I can confidently say this was the worst massage experience I've ever had, and it left me questioning whether or not the masseuse had a legitimate license. Shortly after posting my review, Meilu the owner contacted me directly and expressed her deepest apologies for the service I received at her business. She asked me to come back and guaranteed me that my next experience at her facility would be far better than the last. It is because of her sincerity that I decided to give this place another chance. The service I received the second time around was far better than the first! My masseuse was kind and often made sure that I was comfortable with the intensity of the pressure. Went here when I was directed here when the other foot massage place was under a remodel job. Came here with my sisters when they were here for a visit and we were going for a foot massage and then a pedicure. But after the 60 minute foot massage, OMG who needed a pedicure, we were so relaxed. So for Mother's Day my husband agreed to go with me. I was so glad because we always get couples massages when we travel and he was really reluctant when I said we were going for foot massages. He was very comfortable when we walked in and there was someone he knew in there because he thought he was going into a woman's salon. There were actually a lot of men in there so it is a very unisex business, so men go you will love it. You go into a dimly lit room, sit on these large comfy oversized chairs and they put your feet in warm water, cover you with a thin blanket and start with your temples and head and go on down your arms. Head, shoulders, neck, arms, well you get what I mean. Then when they get to your feet they use hot stones all the while massaging your feet and legs. Then the chair turns into a table with the hole for your face when you turn over and they massage your back, who would of thought that a foot massage would of included all this, amazing! This is going to be a regular for us for sure. Do not hesitate to try the foot massage, no having to disrobe. Best 60 minutes you will have, very misleading when you think you are getting a foot massage but totally in a good way. I got way more for my money!! read more

DO NOT COME HERE! 0 stars!!!! My girlfriend and I went in for a couples massage yesterday. We asked to be in the same room, and luckily they had one. They tell you to get undressed to only your underwear and get under the sheet, mind you this was our first time getting a massage so we didn't know what to expect. When getting undressed, A lady knocked on the door Proceeding to enter As we were telling her we were not ready yet, exposing me. Then a man came in and my girlfriend did not want to be massaged by him so I allowed her to be massaged by the lady. I am also a woman, so I was expecting to be massaged by another woman. They did not ask us if we wanted to be massaged by either a man or woman also did not explain anything to us except for to get undressed and under the sheet. The man immediately started making gross lube noises with the oil's before drenching my back with them. The massage was very rough at first taking my breath away multiple times. The man eventually let up on the roughness and started massaging my back, and shoulders which was not bad at this point. He then worked his way down to my butt and continued to roll my underwear down until my entire butt was exposed. I felt extremely uncomfortable and violated and was wondering if my girlfriend was also receiving the same massage. Now I know this sounds like I probably should have left at this point however, this was my first massage so I wasn't sure if this was just "normal." He continued to add more oil and started massaging my lower back working his fingers into the top of my butt crack and down my butt cheeks. I was feeling so uncomfortable I could have cried, I did not know what to do and I felt like a little bit of me was just overthinking the massage so I just continued to lay there. Eventually he was done with my back and butt cheeks and rolled my underwear back up and moved down to my legs. Here again he got very pervy with me.. he lifted my leg and wrapped the sheet around my butt cheek rolling my underwear up and around my butt cheeks where he was trying to massage. Again with the massive amounts of oil, he started massaging my legs and butt cheeks. He was getting extremely close to areas he should not be near, he had long fingernails also, so they kept scratching my leg, and he was being very aggressive on my inner thighs.. at this point I was begging and praying that this massage was almost over. He then lifted the sheet and told me to flip over without giving me a chance to cover my chest. He started to massage my forearms and then without saying a word lifted the sheet and tucked it underneath where my arm was, exposing my chest!!! I was so upset!! I could not wait to talk to my girlfriend and find out if she too had been massaged the way that I had been being massaged. We tipped them $10 on a $100 massage which was absolutely uncalled for considering the way I was being touched. Later after talking about it with my girlfriend, she had confirmed that she WAS NOT massaged the same way at all and that her butt was only slightly exposed and the inner thigh massage never took place with her. I am completely in awe and shocked and ashamed that this happened. If I were a man, this would not have happened!!! 10/10 would highly recommend calling the police. I would give this place zero stars if I could. I have been in twice since my last time, which was nice. They have utterly sucked. I came in the other night and left like the last time asking my fiancé if he would rub my back. They fold your underwear down to the point you feel your not wearing any. They use way too much oil. I don't know if they are just exhausted, but they don't massage. I'd prefer they massage then bring out rocks that are too hot to lightly graze over your back over and over until you are infuriated. I'd rather have a 7 year old massage my back. They have no technique! I am considering calling the place in because I don't believe they have any licenses. I wish I could give zero stars. My husband and I came here for a 60 minute full body couples massage. The staff was pushy and rude. They put us in separate rooms even though they had an open couples room that just appeared to have their own stuff on one of the beds. The woman knocked on my door, proceeded not to wait for me to say if I was ready and just barged in with another man as I was trying to get on the bed and under the covers. So she and the man and whoever was walking by the wide open door saw my with only a thong on attempting to get onto the massage table. Instead of apologizing, covering their eyes and trying to back out, they both continued to walk in the room waiting for me to respond on whether I wanted a man or woman to do the massage. Now I realize now I should've walked out right there because it was so blatantly unprofessional, but I was in such shock. I eventually asked for a woman once I was on the table and under the covers (that the woman helped me get under while the man just stood there). Again, I know I should've walked out but I was so surprised that I didn't have a chance to process what had just happened. The massage itself was THE worst massage I've ever had. She didn't seem to know what she was doing at all. She kept throwing the sheets around completely exposing me a few times. (Again, I know I should've walked out. I'm still kicking myself.) She also walked out a few times for about 5 minutes each time. At one point, she opened the door wide open mid-massage. I asked her to close it for privacy, and she told me her boss makes them have the door open a little bit. This was about 25 minutes into the massage, mind you... but she did close it. The massage was not 60 minutes. It was about 45-50. When it was done, we went to pay. We gave a 10% tip when I really wanted to give $0. She had the audacity to ask for more. This was the worst experience I've ever had at one of these massage places. Worst massage I've ever received. He successfully avoided every single spot that needed massaging, every knot, and managed to make me even more tense. Also, the air conditioning was on so high that I was freezing the whole time, which didn't help me to relax. It was also really loud and would shake the building every time it turned on. Wow....Today my husband and I went in since we got gift certificates for Christmas. We waited until today to finally go in before they expire, which was perfect cause it is our Anniversary. So this was my very first time getting a massage here and it was the worst thing i've ever experienced. I feel so violated. I did not expect for it to be a man that would massage me so i immediately felt uncomfortable. The guy started rubbing my whole body through the sheet while i was laying on my back. Then he took off the sheet and used oil on me. He pulled my underwear down and had literally half of my butt exposed while he was rubbing my back into my butt and this was for about 20 minutes. I felt weird about it. Then he got up on the table and my heart was pounding it didn't know what he was going to do. Thank god he got back down. Then he moved the sheet to cover the top half of my butt and back and exposed the bottom half of my butt and put part of the sheet in between my legs. Then after probably 40 minutes of the hour massage he went to pull the sheet back over me and he moved my underwear back up and he SNAPPED me with it! I was shocked. He had me turn over and my whole body was covered again and he pulled one of my arms out from under the sheet and he lifted the sheet high enough to see my boobs! This review is for spa pedicure only. I was here very recently and I was not very pleased with my experience. Its my first and last. The front desk lady was nice and friendly and even gave me a cold bottled water for free. But the guy who rather did my pedicure did a sloppy job. I'm the only client there but he was acting like he is in a big hurry to finish. I wanted the deluxe pedicure but didn't get what I paid for. He didn't massage my feet at all he just slapped the lotion on my legs and next thing I knew he was done. He keeps on joking to pay extra for cutting my nails short it's not even funny. Worst experience ever! I came in for a full set to treat myself before my birthday. I was greeted right Away as the lady took me back to the nail room. The lady didnt speak a lick of English. I asked her a few times if she could do something and she just kept saying "later". She never once asked how long I wanted them, I had to ask for the pink acrylic; which wasn't very pink, and when I asked if she could make the tips thick And if she could put glitter she just said oh later, but never did. She got mad after she did my first nail & I said I wanted pink so she had to take the nail off and start over. After her applying the pink but it not being what I wanted I just settled. Normally I've always seen them apply the white acrylic then the pink or clear acrylic. I was getting frustrated & she never said she was going to paint the tip at the end. Another lady kept coming in and translating to me but wasn't any help, just making excuses. They kept talking about me in whatever language they spoke because they kept saying the word "pink". After the frustration of redoing a single nail she buffed the nail with an emery board until the side of my finger was sliced open! After when she went to take the drill to it and I pulled away in pain all she said was sorry! I was so annoyed at that point I wanted to stop and walk out. The end product doesn't look horrible, but it's nothing what I wanted. It's been a day and my nails are still sore, they've never been sore this long. She didnt do anything special and was just a basic acrylic set, which was dissapointing because usually they would massage my hands or at least apply lotion. In the end when I left the room to pay the lady said nothing to me. She told me at the end it was going to be $35. I was allready so upset at that point I thought that was ridiculous. My friend and I show up and still had to wait about 15 mins before getting our foot massage. Receptionist was too busy talking on the phone and never kept us posted as to what was going on. I had seen the Zen Spa a couple of times when I was in the area(McDonalds) and thought I would give it a try. As soon as I arrived I was greeted and I had told them it was my first time going there. So they showed me what they had to offer and I chose the 60 min foot massage. Let me start off by saying I thought I was just getting a foot massage but they also massage your face, neck, arms, back and legs! Tina was my massage therapist and she was great. I left feeling relaxed, calm and overall great! The last place I had a massage I left hurting all over and needed to use a heating pad for three days. I would definitely recommend this place. Dang! I blew it with this one. I didn't check yelp before I went because this place is so convenient and I just hit it on the way home. Just wanted a 1 hour back and foot massage. That's it. It looks nice on the outside. And inside it's clean and pretty big so I was enthusiastic. First, the guy at the front asks me if it's okay if HE massages me. "NO" that would not be okay. So, he goes and gets a pregnant (I think she was pregnant anyway) older woman. I told her what I wanted... 30 min back and 30 min foot massage. $50. Okay, so first she starts massaging my back without oil. OW! That was not pleasant. Then after 5 minutes, she gets a cell phone call. Then another and she leaves for 5 minutes. Then she starts massaging my legs... Then leaves again. After about 15 minutes she was clearly getting tired and then went and got some hot rocks and started to use those. This was simply someone who didn't know what they were doing. I didn't want, or ask for, the hot rock massage and on top of that, they were TOOO HOT. Kinda burned my back. I had to tell her to stop. Then she takes me over to the foot massage area. She then disappears for like 10 minutes. I'm not exaggerating. Her foot massage was okay but the whole experience was an hour at the spa and 35 minutes of actual massage and not very good one. I went there yesterday with my daughter for the 1hr $25 foot massage. After telling the man and woman at the front door what I wanted she tried to convince me for 5 min to change to a full body massage or upgrade for the "special". When I declined the seemed very irritated. When the massage started the they talked the whole time, and then I could here the other workers in other rooms speak loudly. I asked if they could shut the doors so it would be quite and more relaxing , which they did but then still continued to talk the whole time.
