I've been coming to Foot Reflexology for a while and the staff is always polite and welcoming. I originally called hoping to schedule a 120-minute deep tissue massage but was told they only offer up to 90 minutes. The massage itself was relaxing, but it definitely wasn't deep tissue. Over my last few visits, the quality hasn't felt as consistent as it used to be. One thing I still find strange is that despite the name "Foot Reflexology," my feet are never actually massaged during a full-body session. Decided to treat myself and get a foot massage. Used to come here often and wanted to check it out again while I was in town. Didn't realize it had changed ownership. Called in for an appointment for a 1 hour foot massage. Nice receptionist, easy booking. But once the massage started, I was already skeptical. The masseuse was nice but there was absolutely no technique or pressure. He was just rubbing my calves in oil up and down with no pressure whatsoever. I asked for more pressure and he said he understood. But he continued to just rub my legs and feet. Instead of a massage it felt like I was just getting stroked. Left the experience unsatisfied. I recently went for a full body 90 minutes massage (60 body and 30 feet), and it was extremely relaxing. The lady that helped me was Susan and she did a phenomenal job. I really appreciate her for asking before applying the amount of pressure needed for my body. I love going here. Although I've never been anywhere else here in Bakersfield I always come back here and refuse to try anywhere else. Me and my mom come here often. I've brought some family from out of town that were visiting here and they treated my 87 year old great grandmother so nice and they were very accommodating because she can't lay on her stomach. I appreciate them for that. The checking out can be a little awkward because they are waiting on a tip but they make sure you have water at the end. I called ahead and requested a 12 o clock start time. I was greeted by a receptionist that spoke English which is not always something you get when you walk into massage places and it makes it hard to speak your needs. I was thrilled. She asked me if I wanted any upgrades like hot stones and I said no I just wanted the 90 minute full body. She lead me to the room and that's when the magic began. Kevin walked in an did his work for 90 minutes. He never spoke except to ask if it was too hard or it needed to be harder. It started out with gentle effleurage through a blanket and then to the oil massage where he worked out all the tension and made my muscles relax. He added the hot stones which felt amazing but I did not ask for and was charged for at the end. I'm annoyed because it's a small cheat but like I said it felt amazing. That is the reason for the 4/5 stars but I will go back and expect it next time. I was worried about the tip because of the comments and have been asked for more tip at other places. I was a little hesitant with some of these reviews, but this was one of the best massages I've ever had and I get them frequently. I also don't leave reviews, but for this experience it was worth it. The space itself is much to be admired, but Julio is legit one of the best. I somewhat sensitive to pressure and I dealt with it, bc he knows what he is doing. I had the best experience here! I was lucky enough to have Michelle work on me. A foot massage runs about $30 for one hour. But it's not only a foot massage, you also get a mini face, neck, shoulder and arm massage with it. I opted to add the hot stone for $5 more...and it was soooooo worth it! This is my second time coming to this massage place and let me tell you, they do a great job! Both times, I've had John and he really gets into the back area. Walking in you'll find it to be relaxing and quiet as well as walking to the rooms. Masks are to be worn at all times which was no problem for me. The rooms were clean and they place a disposable cover on the bed that followed Covid cleanliness. My boyfriend had the masseuse named Melanie and she did a great job as well! She asked if there was a particular area to work on and she was great. You have to make an appointment (not sure if they do walk ins). One of the worst full body massage sessions I've ever had. The lady was nice, I'm not going to blame her. This is for sure a management/ownership failure. I'm guessing either because they're paying the employees minimum wage to make more money or there simply aren't any qualified massage therapists looking for work right now. This woman had no clue what she was doing. This is the first massage I've had where she almost massaged my bones more than my muscles. Definitely the first time anyone thought it was a good idea to massage my spine with their elbow bone. Trust me when I say do not give this place the chance to take your $55 for an hour or pain. Delight Massage is the best place in Bakersfield to go, and I wish to God they were open the day I went here so I wouldn't be sitting here in more pain than I had before I got my bones rubbed with hot rocks! read more

After trying many massage businesses here in town and being less than pleased esp for the money I would spend and at times having bad vibes when I was there, I finally found this diamond in the rough and a very respectful, professional and AMAZING massage therapist named Julio who I now call and will only make spots if he is available, he's that good. I work in an office as well as in a restaurant so I'm constantly on the go, and sitting or moving around a ton and I explain to Julio my problem areas before my deluxe foot massage (that includes what I would refer to it as a deep tissue back massage as well) and he tailors the lotion used to stress relief, relaxation, citrus, allergies, preferred scents etc.... I've been coming here off and on for about 6 years. This place was way better before Zen Spa took over. The old place charged $25 for the typical hour foot reflexology massage. It was always busy and the quality was consistent. That all went downhill when Zen Spa took over. It's now $40+ for the same service, but the employees just aren't that great. The lady who did my massage was very nice but had zero strength. I asked for only my feet to be massaged, but she ended up doing the usual head, arm, feet, back routine. Unfortunately, the language barrier prevented my feet only request from being fulfilled. Wish it would go back to the old way. read more

After the massage was done I let the receptionist know. She still made me pay full price. She said she would text her boss to call and I have yet to receive a call. Had the couples massage here last night. It was ok. Technicians didn't say hardly anything. Most places ask where your trouble spots are. They didn't ask anything. Just took us to the couples room and closed the door. Came in and started massaging away. I'm pretty sure that they spoke limited English and that was the problem. If you can't find anyplace on short notice ( we tried to find a same day couples at numerous places), this place will suffice. read more

Visiting from LA and couldn't find any other place that was open and seemed decent on thanksgiving , so we tried deep tissue 90 min here which ended up being 80 min for both of us. The former customer service was great and helpful But the foot massage was bit not up to the expected levels , lot of time spent in just touching / rubbing the feet without any actual deep massage - as it trying to pass away the time . Also had combined body massage but they said there is no discount if you combine it without prior notification so they charged me 10$ more.
