I guess I know why it was empty. Not relaxing. I had to tell her to trim my nails more , she didn't finish the color on the tips,.... Included a close up pic. You can judge. I love to get my nails done at Zen Nails. They are located on the corner of Lakewood Ranch Blvd. and State Road 70. They are next to the Coldwell Banker office and Publix. Tom and Angel are the owners. Tom does the best manicure for me with dip. I've been going to him for years. I have literally never had one of my nails, chipped or crack in all the years I've been going to him. He takes his time. And it's great because I'm a realtor. I give this company five stars. Thank you so much for all the service over the years. They have wonderful chairs for when you do a pedicure all brand new massage chairs. They always offer you, refreshments drinks or wine. Took my wife here to relax on her birthday and get a manicure and a pedicure. Got the deluxe pedicure. Gel and gel manicure and spent $100 with a $19 tip. I pick her up to find out they were worried about $5.00 for french tips on her toes. My wife said there was a bunch of employees screaming back and forth and other clients. She said the deluxe pedicure was like a basic with no hot rocks or foot messag. Her manicure was poorly done, especially when it came to filing the nail. So this visit did not go as I had hoped for her. Would not recommend. read more

In the current atmosphere of nail salons overcharging and up charging on standard nail services, I wanted to try out different salons in Lakewood Ranch. I only will use salons that post their prices and I can book on line. Zen Nails has both and I looked forward to my appointment. To cut to the point, someone in the salon needs to understand and speak English. After repeating myself at least 3 different times to 3 different people that I have an appointment at 10 am for an acrylic fill with regular polish, I gave up. This salon is probably best for gel and acrylic nails but not for natural nail manicures. The polish on my nails is lumpy and uneven and the way my cuticles were trimmed left jagged skin around a couple of my fingers. They have a wide variety of polishes for gel and dips, but when I tried to find a neutral polish, the first two polishes were bad: one was discolored so it did not match the sample palette and the other was so thick the manicurist had to try to thin it out. Very nice people at this salon but only go here for gels, dips, acrylics, not for natural nail manicures. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. The manicure was terrible. No lotion or massage. Once I got home and really looked I thought wow this is bad. Came into the salon today - the next day with my receipt - and was told they wouldn't refund unless I had them remove it. I said no thank you I need to run. They said they had to remove it like it never happened. I said so you want to do more work? I didn't ask for the tip back. I don't want them to do anything else. I said you didn't provide the service I paid for. Then she drags me to another lady for which I had to say please stop dragging me. Then she accused me of damaging it myself!! Customer service is a lost cause at this place. I hate leaving negative reviews. The up-sell here is bad. I said no to a gel manicure multiple times, but he kept suggesting it. So I was upsold on an SNS gel manicure, on the promise of it lasting 3 weeks. I got it on the last Friday in May. My first nail broke the following Wednesday, on my flight back home. Now it has been less than 2 weeks and every nail is in rough shape. My nails cracked from hitting them (obviously accidentally) on things.... never had that with regular manicures. I would rather have gotten a $15 normal manicure, which would have lasted just as long. I unintentionally tipped poorly. I tipped 20% based on what I originally intended to get (regular mani-pedi), but not on the $40-something I wasted on this gel manicure. Mehhhhhhh. read more

This was my first time at this nail salon. I was there to get a full set of acrylics with white tips and a small design on each ring finger. I came in for my appointment and was greeted warmly at the front desk. I was seated right away (there weren't many people there anyway). The woman who did my nails was great! She smiled and talked with me. She took her time with my nails and paid attention to details. I noticed this because I am picky about how my nails look. It was $30 for a full set of acrylics with white tips. To me this is standard, not expensive but not cheap either. I also got a small pink flower design on each ring finger which they did not charge me for! I did find that the nails were a little bit uneven, some were slightly bigger than others. Not very noticeable though. No one else would probably notice this but me since I am picky lol. The woman also did two thick top coats on my nails. Little bubbles formed on my nails because she did not let the first coat dry completely (this happens sometimes with my own nail polish). The employees there were very nice. There were quite a few employees who had nothing to do and so were sitting around on their phones, had head phones on, and/or were talking together. This doesn't bother me but I know it might bother some other people because it definitely detracts from seeming like a professional business. It says on their site that they have complimentary drinks but I wasn't offered any. The place looks relatively clean. Not the cleanest I've seen, I saw some nail clippings here and there on the floor. I would go back here. Might try out some other salons to see how they compare. read more

What I asked for vs what I got! I did not get what I asked for. Total waste of time and money. I went in with a picture of nail style I wanted, color and everything. The First Lady told me she couldn't do... so I compromised for a different look. The owner, Mike, told me he would do it, then somehow talked me into getting dip. I specifically said I did not want my nailbed to look fat and I wanted him to file it down to make it look as natural as possible. He told me that he would and I shouldn't worry. He also told me to wait till he was done, and if I saw anything, then he would go back and fix it. Keep in mind, I came in at 1:25 I told him I had to leave by 3pm to pick up my kids from school. Long story short, my nails look botched, I was charged way to much, didn't even get what I asked for, he was rude towards the end when I told him I had to leave to go pick up my kids... would not recommend this place... sorry! *second time I've been to this salon and will never go back!!!! read more

I've barely made it one week with my pedicure at Zen. The gel manicure was rippled and lacking in quality. I left looking like I was due for a fill already. For a mani/pedi/wax I paid $110 with tip. Seems steep for something that hasn't lasted me what I usually get at AJ's for half that price. Never again. read more
