Ben and his team of superstars are terrific. I have had to make many long-distance as well as local moves in my life. Whether it was a corporate move where my company arranged and paid for everything or a move that I had to negotiate and pay for myself, there were always a few problems, sometimes even major ones. Until my recent experience with ZEN, I had never experienced an easy, seamless move. My recent move was complicated, too, because most of my belongings had to go into a storage area in Santa Fe while the rest needed to be transported up to Denver. On each occasion, the ZEN movers were on time. Tom, Lewis, Ben and the other guys were careful, conscientious, quick and compassionate. Let's face it: moving sucks. It's right up there on the stress meter with death and divorce. The ZEN guys did everything to alleviate the pain of moving. I have never seen a more dependable group of moving men in my life, and I have endured seven inter-state moves and at least double that number of local moves. There is a good reason why ZEN has received such stellar reviews here on Yelp as well as on other review sites. They deliver. The perform their jobs with pride. They won't cheat or overprice you. They are educated and speak excellent English. They are atypical of the moving industry. And, yes, they do give good hugs! read more

I had previously left a rave review for Zen Movers but I have to take it back. When the guys came to move, I asked about insurance and told them that I only have one really valuable piece of furniture...the mover said it wasn't necessary for that one thing. I was very, very clear that this one piece was the ONLY thing I was really concerned about because it is a fragile, Spanish Colonial carved bench from the 1800s, and it is worth thousands of dollars. Long story short, they broke a piece of it off. Not only did they break it but insisted that it was already broken --- which it was not --- i have many photos to prove that. When I called the owner to let him know --- I wasn't even asking him to pay for it --- the response was basically that there was no way to know if they broke it. Given that I was there during the whole move, I KNOW for a fact that they broke it. I was told that I could go to a place that restores furniture to get it fixed... this was not an offer for them to PAY for the damage done to my antique piece... just letting me know what I can do to fix it myself. (Ha! seriously?) The bottom line is, they have lost my business, and I feel the need to let everyone else know why. read more

I have used Zen movers 3 times now. I really like them. First used them to move me from one house to another and it went really well. The guys were quick, but not so quick as to be careless. They were friendly and capable. They took suggestions and offered great advice as well. The other two moves were interior moves. They came over and moved furniture, rugs, art etc. all around my house for me. Again: polite, quick, friendly & experienced. I am rescheduling again with them this week to have them take some of my belongings to storage and other drop off spots in Albuquerque. I love that the office is open on Saturdays and that they are willing to work on Sundays. I am also always pleased that they are able to accommodate my schedule with short(ish) notice. I like that they have various size trucks and are willing to work with the crazy parking situation in my neighborhood (Eastside historic). If you are new to Santa Fe and need movers, I cannot recommend them enough. Their hourly fee is reasonable and the guys are friendly, strong and capable. Thank you Zen movers! (((hugs))) read more

I would gladly give 10 stars to Zen Movers if I could!My family just moved to Albuquerque from Santa Fe last weekend, and we were extremely impressed with the professionalism and respect shown by the Zen Movers. The crew members who helped us, Ron and Tom, were on time and were able to address every need we had. They both worked tirelessly until our new house looked and felt like home. The owner of Zen Movers, Ben, was very helpful and courteous from the beginning to the end of the move, and we were truly satisfied. Furthermore, the reasonable prices of Zen Movers is such a contrast to the expensive prices quoted by Atlas Van lines/ United Van Lines and other nationwide companies who we have used during our previous moves, and who cost us an arm and leg on top of bad customer service. In my opinion, there is no other professional moving company which is as efficient and affordable as Zen Movers, and we are so fortunate to have them based in New Mexico. I have moved many times throughout my life and have NEVER worked with more experienced and qualified professionals. We had many last minute requests due to a delayed closing, and the crew led by Sean handled each with "quick thinking" and professionalism. Packing up and moving two rental homes, a main house, a guest quarters attached to a storage garage, a barn converted into a sanctuary, and all the outdoor furniture on the property (including two LARGE wind sculptures), led to a two-day move. Over two snowy days, I witnessed these young men work diligently to accommodate our every request. When challenged by an 800-pound table, they solved the problem as Sean split off from the group to rent a truck with a lift so the table wouldn't have to be left behind. I highly recommend Zen Movers - they earned the meaning of their name - a state of calm attentiveness during what could have been an incredibly stressful life event with amazing attitudes of kindness to the customer, but more importantly to one another. First of all, I can not overstate how very much I despise moving! That being said, I needed to share my latest moving experience. At first I was going to do the whole "I'll give you beer and pizza if you help me move" thing, but then I realized that my friends were all feeling like me, tired and weak. I decided to hire Zen Movers at the last minute. Much to my surprise and delight, they were able to fit me in with a three man crew. From my initial phone call I felt like I was working with my friends. My incredible experience didn't stop there. I think Zen Movers outdid themselves by sending me the kindest, most lively three-man crew. Joel, Keaton, and Isaiah were amazing! They moved my heavy (and somewhat awkwardly built) furniture out with no problem. The best part? They did it with a smile and the kind of kindness that you can see even through a mask! I highly, highly recommend Zen Movers and maybe if you are lucky you'll get a crew as professional and amazing as Joel, Keaton, and Isaiah. Ben and the team at Zen movers truly go above and beyond as a moving company. I've moved many times over the years, within state, across the West and across the country twice. No one compares to Zen in terms of customer service, professionalism, caring and kindness. Yes kindness. They helped me move some family heirlooms from a storage unit in Santa Fe to Idaho and went above and beyond to do so. They dealt with a crazy manager, dirt encrusted stuff that had been there for 15 years which they cleaned and carefully wrapped to move. They kept me abreast of every step and dealt with my difficult travel schedule throughout it all. They even offered to help me when I was pickpocketed on a business trip to Chicago while the move was going on. I cannot recommend them enough and will use them again to move my house contents from CA to Idaho when the time comes. After much deliberation about whether to hire a professional moving company (or move a two story house piece by piece ourselves!), we decided to hire Zen Movers. We had heard from multiple different sources in New Mexico that they were the best movers around and they did not disappoint! Ben took great care of us to book our move as soon as he could. Storm and Joel were kind, efficient, quick, and they took great care with each piece that needed to be moved. They worked very hard, and as it was quite a long move, I expected that they would be tired towards the end of the day but they kept going with the same level of professional behavior and true patience the entire day. We ended up hiring Zen, specifically requesting Storm and Joel, twice! Carl had helped us on the first move (but was on another job for the second move) and he was lovely as well. On Sept. 27, 2024, 6 men, 2 trucks arrived at my home to move us at 9am. Ron, the foreman, directed the movers from each and every room without skipping a beat. He ensured that my wishes, concerns, and time tables were met. He was steadfast in his management of their time and resources while questioning what needed to go or stay. These workers were polite, courteous, extremely hard working and most importantly careful with my furniture and belongings. By 1 pm, they were on their way to my new house and again, worked promptly to move everything into each room as I wanted. At 6 pm, they finished and while we were all exhausted, it was a good experience. I believe that they are one of the hardest working crews that I have seen in a very long time. Working with Zen Movers for our recent move from New Mexico to California was such a fabulous experience I almost want to move again (almost!). We have moved at least a dozen times and usually your items are covered in hard to remove stickers in a weak attempt to identify your possessions among the 15 other people's possessions on a huge semi that hits every pothole from coast to coast. Typical movers are big burly guys who respond to questions in grunts. The Zen Team are thoughtful, kind, intelligent, and cheerful. Your items are carefully packed, gingerly loaded, and cheerfully placed in their ultimate resting spot in your new home. Zen Men rent the right size truck for your items only, then fly back from your destination city. Not a single item was broken or chipped- A first in my lifetime. Zen Movers was highly recommended by our realtor, and once we saw all the great reviews, we decided to give them a call. We needed to have 2 PODS containers unloaded in Albuquerque, loaded onto 2 trucks and delivered to Santa Fe, then unloaded into a new house. From the first call with Ben, to the last box unloaded, the whole experience was fantastic. Ben was really easy to work with on the phone. He understood all the details and recommended the right size crew, the right trucks, the right schedule, and laid out the whole plan for us. The crew that handled the move was also excellent. We just used Zen Movers to move 3 heavy and fragile pieces of ceramic artwork from a difficult location at a house in the Northeast Heights to our home in Corrales. They did an awesome job, and my wife and I couldn't be more pleased. Ben was very responsive in communicating with us, and Alejandro and Dion arrived exactly on time for the scheduled move. In order to get the artwork to their truck, they had to move it across very uneven ground, across the lawns and down numerous paths and stairs. They carefully padded and wrapped all three pieces, and were extremely careful in transporting them to the truck. The move went without a hitch due to their professionalism. They are absolutely the best, and if you're considering moving anything in the Santa Fe or Albuquerque area, you should definitely call them. read more

I have moved many times in my life and without question the best moving experience I ever had was with Zen Movers. From the initial phone call with Ben who was helpful and congenial, to the actual move with Storm and Joel, who were professional and courteous in every way. Moving is extremely stressful for most people and when animals are thrown into the calculus the stress levels rise exponentially. Joel and Storm went above and beyond the job of moving my furniture and many belongings. My cats are very afraid of others and of moving, and they did a great job of being contentious and compassionate while moving out each room. How many movers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? The answer is zero. Change your own damn lightbulbs. But if you are seeking an excellent moving experience then I highly recommend Zen Movers. Zen Movers definitely lived up to its name. I felt completely at ease and relaxed from start to finish. Ben was great to deal with. Very professional, courteous, and incredibly helpful. In fact, he treated me like family. The movers all wore masks which was important to me. They showed up in the timeframe they said and got right to work. Did my research before hiring a moving company this time as a result of a horrible previous experience. Some of the highest rated moving companies here on yelp locally aren't real moving companies it turns out. Would be nice if I didn't have to do that research myself and Yelp would require some sort of background check or paperwork to confirm these companies legitimacies. I decided to go with Zen Movers as they were legal and I liked the name frankly. They were kind, fast, and efficient. Really hard to ask for more. It was an hourly job and I had three men for my move. The truck was new and clean, the guys were well groomed and polite. Not sure what else to say. I will use them again in 6 months. read more

I know it's never recommended in the world of moving to call last minute but the movers we had hired were a no show the day of our move. Frantically we started calling around and leaving messages. In about 15 minutes Zen Movers called back and although they were in the middle of a move already they arranged for a crew to come to our aid in the early afternoon. Our job wasn't the smallest and they had to push on into the darkness to complete it that day. All in all we finished at 10pm, the guys never complained, were funny and good natured and we couldn't have asked for a more efficient group. When Harry Resnick and crew show up you can relax and just get out of the way! I was absolutely KNOCKED OUT by the athleticism (and make no mistake about it, professional moving is almost FIRST AND FOREMOST, ALL ABOUT the athleticism of the crew!) and professionalism of this crew!!! They knocked out a job that I was fairly certain would take all day or possibly even longer in just 3.5 hours, and quite easily at that. Really wonderful! My move with zen movers today was the most stress free and easy move of my entire life, and I've moved a lot. The movers were genuinely kind and respectful people. They moved my glass art collection and vintage furniture with so much care and respect. On top of that they moved all my belongings from a storage unit to my new place in just two and a half hours! The moving company who moved my stuff into the storage unit spilt my glass in the parking lot, the zen movers guys helped me pick up the pieces and were genuinely concerned. I can't say enough good things and would absolutely hire them again and recommend them to everyone I know! read more
