In these chaotic days when promises are casually broken, and a man's handshake does not stand strongly as his "truthful bond," it is a blessing to find a man of integrity who proves true to his word. Leonard of Leonard's Moving Services in Santa Fe, New Mexico is such an honorable man. After planning a difficult move from New Mexico, home for 35 years, back home to Virginia, the national company with whom I had contracted for two months, whose contact over the time had been inconsistent, failed to follow through one week prior to the actual week of the move. The decision to finally make the move, especially during this time of health mandates and uncertainties, has been a highly emotional time, so this disappointment, followed by the increased stress attempting to locate a mover on short notice, seemed an impossible task. After several options did not pan out, I contacted J & J Storage in Velarde to store my belongings should I need to travel to Virginia without them. When hearing of my difficulties, Jake highly recommended Leonard's Moving Services in Santa Fe and gave me his telephone number. I contacted Leonard, and he made time in his very busy schedule to come to my home for an in person assessment and quote. He was polite, professional, complimented my dubious packing skills, and assured me that he would be able to accommodate my move. From that day until the day of the move he made himself available to answer any questions, assuring me that he would make this move happen, plus he assured me that I did not have to give any of my possessions away to make room on the truck. At that point I began to feel peace that he would honor his word. Leonard and Danny arrived as scheduled working quickly, courteously and in sync with one another as a true team. It was amazing watching the way they packed the truck with precision, arranging odd-shaped boxes systematically, securing furniture with blankets and shrink wrap for protection, and fitting everything with "puzzle-like" efficiency onto the truck. I was assured that nothing would move, and from where I stood, that was an accurate testimony of their skills. As promised, all my belongings fit into the truck, plus they were able to include a few additional last minutes items. They even kept me up up-to-date as they made the long journey to Virginia. This team deserves a 5+ star rating for their professional and skillful acumen, integrity, courtesy and respectful customer service. Leonard and Danny exceeded my expectations and set my mind at ease! They were true to their word from start to finish. My belongings were delivered to my home in Virginia to my son and sister, who have added their praise along with mine. My son, who does not give false praise, remarked on the manner in which my belongings were secured and packed onto the truck as well. I highly recommend Leonard's Moving Services, not only for moving in state, out of state, or across town, but he offers a range of other services as well. You will not be disappointed, and you will make two great, new friends, as their kindness and honesty extends way past business as usual. It has taken my daughter and I a little over a month to write this review. Only because l don't like to join too many sites online. But Mr. Leonard and his nephew, Derrick are worth it! They are two if the most courteous, professional, and conscientious movers/businessmen we've met. My preset move date had a "snow" forecast. Leonard called and we discussed options. I asked him could we make the decision closer to the move date. No problem with Leonard. We even set a tentative date for the next day. I live North of Santa Fe off I-25. It started snowing big snow up here. LOL. I called Leonard the night. before the snow and move date. I was concerned that someone else had been scheduled. Leonard assured me that he had kept the alternate day open for my move. On that morning, Leonard and Derrick showed up with the sun. it was a gorgeous day to move without a cloud in the sky or any snow in the streets. My work is challenging, so I did not pack as well as I wished. Leonard kept telling me don't worry; we're here to help. Derrick and Leonard were so efficient ; it made my move a beautiful day. Leonard was great! Leonard and his assistant / nephew (this is a family-run Santa Fe-based business) showed up when they were supposed to (actually earlier than he was expected but he called to let me know they could come earlier and were on their way!), helped us unload a 16 foot pod that was chock-full, moved stuff that had been loaded into two additional vehicles... and worked around small doorway entrance into a bedroom, newly plastered walls, etc. Our house in Santa Fe was still in the last stages of construction: there was paper protecting the newly tiled floors, sanded over ice (from an earlier snowstorm) on the road and driveway, a Pod blocking the entrance to the driveway and parking area, an electrician, tiler, painter and other workers who were still finishing up stuff in and outside the house... Leonard took all of this in stride... worked around things, maintained a positive cheerful attitude throughout... His nephew was friendly, very professional... and helpful! Leonard brought his tools, helped set up a bed (even though that was not originally what we had hired him to do) after he had to disassemble (and then re-assemble) a bed frame in order to make it fit through a small door frame... Leonard is a five star mover. He exceeded all expectations. As other reviewers have attested to, Leonard and staff were exceptional in every conceivable way. They were on time, efficient, hard working, careful and extremely responsive and eager to please. My move was extremely challenging and required pick-ups in two locations. In addition, the move required loading and unloading extraordinarily heavy items including refrigerator, washer, dryer, furniture, antiques and art work. Leonard and his wonderful nephew not only handled these items with the greatest care, but also patiently worked with me to properly place the furniture in my new home. In what turned out to be a longer than expected day, Leonard remained professional throughout. He was positive, up-beat, and wonderful to work with. What could have been a nightmare experience was as stress free as could be expected for a move of this magnitude. Leonard is every bit as wonderful as his reviews. He is responsible, attentive, thoughtful, honest, and a great communicator. We had a little crisis on the morning of our move (a guy who had agreed to buy some of our furniture, flaked at the last minute). We thought we were going to have to donate all of those pieces, and suck up the loss. But Leonard told us about this consignment shop where he felt we could sell some of it. He showed us which pieces he thought would sell, and delivered them to the consignment shop himself. He gave them our phone number, and they called us up to set the prices and terms. We didn't have to do anything, and we may end up with some extra cash to help offset the cost of moving. The reason we went with Leonard is because of his reviews, and it definitely paid off. Leonard and his crew moved me last month and I can't express how pleased I was. I had a few problems with time crunches due to the closing date being delayed but Leonard kept me cool and calm and told me just to leave it to him and not worry. He took care of everything. His price was more than fair and he was fast and efficient. Not a single wall was marred or any furniture damaged. I had to be gone during a good part of the move and he went above and beyond and put boxes in appropriate rooms and even had TVs set up and everything ready by the time I got there. Even my real estate agent couldn't believe how well he handled everything and is recommending him too! I have moved several times in my lifetime and have never had such wonderful treatment. Recently we needed to move to Denver and after searching about for a moving company and getting several quotes, we settled on Leonard Garduno. And what a great choice we made. Leonard gave us great instructions on all the things we needed to do to get ready for the move and on moving day he and his crew showed up and got after the move. All went smoothly and the next day our furniture was on the way to Denver. The furniture was unloaded at our storage unit and everything that my wife asked to be put where we could access it was placed where we could easily access those items. Leonard is Awesome! He and Rico showed up on time and were very professional, courteous, respectful and efficient. They took good care of our things while packing and unpacking. Always asked where/how we wanted things arranged in the new house and saw to it. As they were unpacking it started to rain and they ensured not to make a mess while going in and out of the house. They took extra care wiping the dolly's wheels so it wouldn't track dirt/mud into the house. WOW! Hard to find words to express how thankful I am to Leonard and his crew of amazing men that moved not just my parents belongings but all their memories. He and Derek packed more stuff into the moving truck than I thought possible--they utilized every bit of space, floor to ceiling, for the entire length of the truck. They were very careful with all of the furniture, and wrapped/blanketed as necessary. When I arrived in Colorado Springs, everything was in virtually the same position as when it was loaded. Leonard was fantastic! He helped move my 92 year old mother, an in town move..he has a big truck and an enclosed 20' trailer....with a willingness and ability to tackle anything with a great attitude. He is a good communicator, showed up on time, ready to work...and work he did! I highly recommend Leonard to help you move! He helped move my elderly mother and father into an assisted living facility in Santa Fe. Leonard and Derek did such a wonderful job disassembling beds, moving furniture, my mom's oxygen equipment, and my dad's paintings with utmost care and respect, and then reassembling their furniture at their new place. Is it possible to give 6 stars? Leonard is a perfectionist -- accurate, clean, precise, and packs a truck like it is a fine art. He was perhaps a little more expensive than some fly-by-night operators but it worth every penny. He predicted that the move would take 5-6 hours but completed everything in less than 4. I have moved many many times and sometimes have had a pretty good experience. This time was the best - perfect in every respect. Len was extremely professional. Came the day I called him to provide an estimate for the move of my office to a storage space and some items to my home. He and his crew of two other guys showed up right on time and were incredibly efficient, careful and professional. Our closing date moved more than once and I was concerned I would lose my mover. Leonard said he would get it done- and he did! The day before Thanksgiving he showed up! That was enough-but he also moved everything from a 3/2 to our new place in about 4 hours! Not only was he efficient but a really nice guy!
