This review is long overdue! I have been going to doctor Shirley for a couple months and it's my first time ever trying acupuncture. Her and her staff are always very welcoming, friendly and they always take the time to explain and sympathize with me and my personal issues. I pay out of pocket because unfortunately insurance doesn't cover my sessions and I have never felt pressured by the staff to come more often, they are very understanding and I can't thank them enough for their work. I've been going once a week for acupuncture (as recommended for my issues) and have gotten cupping done once in a while....I always feel refreshed and stress free after a session. I highly recommend this place! Ps. I also complained about having acne once and doctor Shirley didn't have to but she let me sample her handmade soap for free and it cleared up my skin! The next time I was more than happy to purchase one from her. As a nurse myself, i can tell by the way doctor Shirley takes her time and does her work that she is very sweet and thoughtful and truly cares for her individual patients. Any doctor with that license can do acupuncture, but not everyone can be as empathetic and understanding while doing it as doctor Shirley has been for me :) read more

This review is well overdue. I've been coming to this facility since October of 2019. What first drew me to this location were the reviews (obviously). In fact, I didn't bothered to call other places because their customer service was suburb when I first called. They gave me all the information I needed and checked if my insurance covered right away. Every time I come in, I am greeted by my name and I'm always asked how am I doing. In addition, they are always very accommodating with my schedule. My initial reason for acupuncture was for infertility. However, they have helped me with so much more. Although, I am still not pregnant, I have been able to sleep better, have less anxiety, less headaches, and lastly my hormones have balanced out. I love going to my appointments because I truly feel so much better when I leave. Therefore, believe these 5 stars! P.S. One time the gentleman in the front made a silly comment towards me, I laughed but he still called me to apologize because he thought he offended me. I wasn't offended of course, but even if I was, he took that extra step to make sure I was ok and that really made my day. read more

I have spinal damage and I have been using Zen acupuncture for a long time for pain and other health issues. They have helped me every time. I was using a wheelchair most of the time and relied heavily on a walker. I use them a lot less now and I am returning to my old self with help from them and other methods as well as diet changes like mostly organic products. I have had neck and shoulders' pain for years. I have tried treatments such as physical therapy, chiropractic, deep massage, but my pain has not gone away. I woke up with a pulling pain on my right neck, couldn't turn my head to the right. Thanks for not sleeping on the right side of the pillow. Called Dr.Shirley and made an appointment. She was amazing, she was very thorough and very patience. She explained her pain management and what might happened since it was my first time doing the acupuncture and cupping. After the second session, I felt so good and was not feeling the tight pulling muscle. She also put me in the spinal chair massage, it just worked wonder. I love it. I am a Nurse with osteoarthritis in both of my hands, due to years of Nursing and working behind a computer, and raising 3 boys....needless to say my hands are overworked. I researched Acupuncture after other Nurses had shared with me the positive results they had. I found Zen Acupuncture close by my home and read their 5 star reviews and made an appointment. I loved the online website that I was able to fill out new patient information and create my Health Record so easily. They called me to confirm my appointment, they also Texted me, very impressed with their advanced technology, very engaging and easy to use, and saves so much time. On the day of my appointment I was greeted by friendly professional staff, the office was very clean, it was soothing, with soft music playing and delicious herbal tea provided in the waiting area. Joyce was my licensed Acupuncturist, she took me in a private exam room and talked with me about what was going on with my hands, she was very kind and listened to me, she explained the procedure, what to expect and answered my questions. I was made comfortable on the table, she talked in a soothing and reassuring voice, explaining step by step what she was going to do. Her touch was to gentle, I didn't feel any pain or discomfort during the Acupuncture on both hands, it was soothing when the infrared lights were placed over my hands, she turned out the overhead lights and gave me a call bell in case I needed her back in the room before the timer went off. The soft music played, and I was very relaxed. I will continue my plan of care with Joyce, I returned today for my 2nd Acupuncture treatment and look forward to my healing process with her. I started going due to hand pain and shoulder pain and anxiety that came over me this year.
