Not the nicest staff. Had to come back for a retouch and I live an hour away so I called before I went in and the lady told me it was fine to just come in so I did. Only to get there and the other receptionist ask if we could schedule because the original guy wasn't there that day. They were able to fit us in though so that was good. read more

I came in yesterday for an opinion on a cover up that was long over due one of there artists joe was actually incredibly nice and super talented! he took me right in and it was his day off!!! the service was incredible these aren't people you find everyday especially in todays time! the shop overall was so welcoming and kind and made me feel very comfortable especially because it was a big cover up and first time getting a big tattoo! I have been coming here for over 2 years to work on both an arm and leg sleeve by Soldano. It's a great shop! Joe and his staff are knowledgeable and are always customer-forward. They don't want you to leave with a tattoo that will look crappy in 20 years and so they do make design adjustments. They are the experts! and know what is going to last. They had a very tough time through covid-19 like a lot of businesses and have a strict 1 person/party rule in the shop still. It's posted on the door + because of the popularity of walk-in's it can get very busy and crowded inside. I recommend to everyone. read more

I don't think I'd come back here for any actual artwork tattoos because of the examples I've seen online but their scripture and font work is great. I came in on a whim a few years ago for a simple three word tattoo along the top of my left foot. The staff was not overly friendly and nothing was very memorable. Thankfully, I have a great tattoo that I appreciate so much and makes me happy every time I look at it. Im not even sure I'll go back for the touch up of the tattoo since it's been so long that I've been there and didn't have a very memorable experience. Overall, I do recommend going to Zaza if you are planning on getting some sort of scripture tattoo. read more

I genuinely would never come back here again for the fact that everyone here was extremely rude and I was uncomfortable the entire time. The work is just fine but they rush you, they don't care about you or your tattoo very much, and they aren't nice nor professional (considering they did accuse us of smoking weed before we came inside just because we came in all at once without knowing the rule was one person at a time). Overall if you're going by yourself it's fine, but if you're wanting to have a FUN experience getting tattooed don't recommend coming here at all. It took me a lot of courage to come get this tattoo. I've had one tattoo before and regretted it and had it removed. Came here cause my friend said they were good. All I wanted was small writing done on my wrist. I had the owner do it so I thought I was in good hands. When i first met him he seemed very rude and arrogant. He seemed like he was in a rush to get me out of there, he didn't want to work with the symbols I wanted. I asked if the writing could be done thicker because my friend got hers before and I didn't like the way hers looked. He pretty much said no I'm not doing it the way you want and gave me bullshit excuses when he just didn't want to work on the drawing more. Immediately after the tattoo was done I thought it looked ok. But now I'm seeing how shaky his line work is and I'm definitely going somewhere else to have it touched up. Don't come here if you see the owner cause he clearly doesn't have experience or he's just not an artist. In the end it's my fault for not speaking my mind and telling him this isn't what I wanted. read more

My boyfriend decided he wanted to get his mother and I early Mother's Day tattoos and himself a tattoo for our daughter! We decided on zaza ink because they were really nice about letting us take our 6 month old to sit with us and we saw they had great reviews! My mother in law got colored stars with her 5 grandchildren's initials MC, TN, MC, MC, SN on her forearm by Jeanne. It came out amazing for an unplanned tattoo! My boyfriend got Sophia's name and date with her footprint and a watch that is set to 2:54 for the time she was born on his chest by Desourdy (not familiar with his first name!) who did such an amazing job designing and doing this tattoo! I got my daughters 2 feet her name and her date on my bicep by Jeanne and I couldn't be more in love! We will definitely be back for all of our future tattoo work! I would 10/10 recommend this shop! I just got back from getting my ears pierced here. After reading about how piercings done at tattoo places are much safer than those done with guns at the mall, I began to look for a good place nearby. One place was rated highly, but when I called about pricing they said it would be $95 for both ears for a simple earlobe piercing! I'm a broke college student. Not happening. I am so glad I chose Zaza instead. I am 20, and have never had any piercings before now. The woman who did it was very kind and explained absolutely everything. Everything was clean, and she took the time to make sure the markings were perfect before piercing my ears. Even better was the fact that it was $30 for both ears. I wish I didn't have to have barbells (the only type they will use right after an earlobe piercing), but it is only six weeks, so I'll live. :) read more

I made an appointment with Shawn, and put down a deposit. I had to break the appointment. I made another appointment with Shawn, and put down some more money. I had to break that appointment too. The third time, I just took the friggin day off of work. I really didn't have any idea what to expect, but after explaining everything to Shawn (who was super patient and great) he came back with exactly what I wanted. He took a few minutes to setup the transfer and all that. I chilled and watch some TV while he got ready. The actual tattoo was pretty straightforward if you've ever had a tattoo. Mine took about an hour and some change, and during that time I just chatted with Shawn, and listened to music while he did his thing. I'm really happy with how it came out, the overall professionalism of the shop, the cleanliness, and how I was treated. I'm not sure I'll be back soon, but when I decide to get another tattoo, I'll be back here. read more

Joe talked me through everything, he told me "this tattoo is yours" he also educated me on color, how the skin will change the tattoo over time etc. All this was exactly what I needed for my first tattoo. The whole experience was AWESOME!! Even though my tattoo was priced at the shop minimum, you would have thought I was spending thousands (would have paid 3x what I did). I walked into Zaza with a crappy back tattoo not knowing what to expect and I was referred to Squirrel, one of their newer artists. With very little input from me and one week to think about it, he came up with an amazing partial cover and additions to my back piece that I had never thought of. While he worked on the piece he kept checking in with me to see how I was doing, and to let me know what he was doing. He also wasn't afraid to check in with other artists and get their input as he worked. 3 or 4 hrs later I left with a piece of art that completely transformed my original tattoo and left me wanting to add even more.. And when I do I'm definitely going back to him. Super happy customer! read more

got my first tattoo here a couple months ago. i went around 7:30 with my boyfriend and when we both entered, the receptionist lady was so rude to both of us. she said only i can come in the building and when i said my boyfriend was just there to watch me get it done, she reiterated herself with the nastiest tone and basically told him to leave and wait for me outside. she said he could come back with me when she gives me a call back. i paid, definitely shouldn't have and should've just left and gone somewhere else. it gets worse. after i pay and show what i want, she tells me to leave and wait for a call back telling me that i can come back into the studio. i leave and get a call 5 minutes later. like why couldn't you just let me stay in the studio at that point????? anyways, i go back inside AGAIN with my boyfriend and AGAIN, with the nastiest tone says my boyfriend has to leave due to the "only one person at a time" policy. don't understand because she said he could come with me when she gave me a call back? i was getting so annoyed at this point. my boyfriend left to go wait in the car again while i did the rest of housekeeping things surrounding getting the tattoo. i ask the guy who's going to tattoo me, really nice guy btw, that i want my boyfriend to come watch and take pictures for me since this is my first tattoo. but then, he says it's only going to take 2 minutes since it's a small tattoo. i couldn't get any pictures or videos of me getting my first tattoo done and im still salty about it today. the tattoo looks okay but seems so rushed and i followed aftercare perfectly, and the ink already looks lifted. it's been 8 months. don't come here unless you want a poorly done tattoo and you wanna be treated like shit! read more

I'm from out of town and called asking if they do walk ins, they do. The thing I really liked about this place was their HONESTY. If they don't think your tattoo idea will age well in a certain spot they will tell you and give you insight. I'm not an artist and always admit to needing guidance and suggestions with my ideas, and was very pleased with the work I left with. It's refreshing to have found such a professional place, in the past I've seen walk ins come with crazy ideas and the artist just going along with it to get their money. Props to Zaza! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I came into the shop for a simple septum piercing. My piercing artist was aware that I was nervous for the procedure. However, she was incredibly rude and not understanding. She seemed visibly annoyed when I asked questions about the procedure and didn't stop when I asked her to. I felt incredibly uncomfortable by the situation and did not end up going through with the piercing because I did not feel comfortable in the situation. I was most upset by the fact that she did not stop attempting to pierce my septum when I verbally claimed that I did not feel comfortable and did not want anymore. She did not take out the clamp and was incredibly annoyed when I decided not to go through with the piercing. To clarify, the reason that I did not want to go through with the piercing was because I felt uncomfortable with her not because I did not want it. read more

I did not even get my tattoo today that I went there to get. I have never been treated so horribly in my life and honestly I will never go back to Zaza Ink. I've never written a review on Yelp before but I left this tattoo shop so upset and in shock that I want other people to know how awfully i was treated. I went there to get a tattoo of a quote vertically down my spine, very simple and easy, I never thought it would be such a problem. From the second I walked in there I felt completely judged (probably because I don't have any visible tattoos) like I shouldn't even be there. The girl at the front desk is so rude; over the phone and in person. The guy who was going to do my tattoo was so mean and judgmental and was criticizing me without even knowing my name or anything about me. He asked me what my tattoo was going to be and after I told him he completely judged me and thought I was just some dumb girl who wanted a tattoo on my back because I thought it would look cute. He continued to tell me that my tattoo was stupid and it was something I thought looked cute on Pinterest but really was a dumb idea. He told me it was bullshit that I was getting it for myself, since I cannot look at my back, and said I was only getting it for other people to see on the beach. He probably criticized my tattoo idea for a good 20 minutes, I couldn't believe how disrespectfully he was talking to me. I have never been treated so horribly by someone I was giving my business to in my life. I left the shop in awe that that is how they treat their customers (or probably just me because I'm a young girl without a hundred tattoos). If he asked me anything about myself he would know that I have several tattoos, just not visible for other people, because they are for me and not anyone else. I know this review is incredibly long but I needed to voice my feelings and what I experienced when I went to zaza ink. I would never recommend this tattoo shop to anyone, and I am so disappointed with my experience there. read more

My first tattoo experience with Will was great, then I came back and had Joe do another tattoo. He was extremely rude and was also trying to tell me how he squeezed me on to his schedule because he's super busy and he was in a rush, I did not ask him to squeeze me in, they told me I could come for a walk in since what I was getting was small and easy. He kept talking to me like I was a child and made me feel stupid for everything I'd mention to him. It was an awkward situation. He was also rude to his staff as well. I will not be coming there again that's for sure. He kind of ruined it for me because I did go back since Will was so professional and explained to me everything and answered all my questions. I expected Joe to be one too since he's the owner of the shops but nope, he is probably the worst artist I've ever met. And also my tattoo is crooked and the lines are shaky. So now I have to go somewhere else and get it redone. Not recommending this place to anyone. read more

Joe is a super talented artist (understatement) and I am honored to have his work on my body. I made the 6 hour drive to the Coeur D'Alene Tattoo expo in 2010 for two reasons and one of them was Joe's awesome work. He was professional, accommodating to my odd schedule even though he was at an expo, and although he was faced with the challenge of putting a large white dove on my naturally dark skin, he met the challenge and in the end the piece came out better than expected. Let me say this... how proffessional and nice they were Joe pulled it out with so little.discomfort cleaned it and told me how to care for the scaring so i can have it redone !!
