Kevin is an amazing artist and puts a lot of work into developing your tattoo idea/concept and turning it into an iconic (pun intended) tattoo. I first met Kevin at a local tattoo expo in Lewiston, ME and was amazed by his work. We were originally scheduled to complete the tattoo at this year's expo, but the pandemic caused the event to cancel, but he offered to do it at his shop if I was willing to drive down to avoid having to cancel. The shop is industrial and antique in decor. He offers a comfortable environment with the option of music and Netflix to help pass the time. We started about 3-4 weeks in advance with me providing a tattoo idea. He provided some feedback, asked for some influences and then put together a tattoo idea that I absolutely loved. He fused the artistry of Charlie Medina with a character from the Avengers. It took approximately 9.5 hours to complete and it was worth every mile traveled and every penny spent. My first tattoo so it took me awhile to find a good place. Went to Kevin and did not regret it. The tattoo is my wife's self-portrait with a lot of fine lines and shades. Kevin spend good time playing with size and contrast for the best look. The final result looks exactly as I wanted it (even a little better) and quality of work is simply breathtaking. Even my wife, who's philosophically against permanent body marking, gave a lot of compliments. The place is super clean with a great relaxing atmosphere. I got my husband a gift card for Christmas one year here, and Kevin did a fabulous job on touching up his older tattoo and adding a new one. Kevin also did a tattoo I designed, which I am not an artist, but he did do my tattoo better than I ever imagined and I love it. Legit so frustrating here! Made an appointment...they lost it, had to reschedule. After they remake an appointment I had to wait an hour for them to finally tattoo me. The tattoo then completely fellout within three weeks. While yes I'm aware finger tattoos don't last, I've never had at tattoo that literally fall out basically after I got it. AND the tattoos I received looked nothing like what I asked for! got a fish symbol and it's basically gone and the only ink that you see if from the stick and poke I had done 5 years ago, and that lasted better than her work, and got a Star on the other hand and that is not far behind) I didn't realize that fully until after, like I knew it wouldn't be completely what I envisioned but my "stars" look the the Walmart symbol. Then I tried to call back to explain what happened and they were rude to me about it and said tattoos aren't guaranteed. We're kinda just like not our fault get bent...wanted me to pay full price again to redue a tattoo they messed up. Like what did I spend my money for ? Lol what a joke. Memorable experience getting my first tattoo by Morcego! Great guy and an amazing artist who never rushed and invested a lot of his busy time in finding the right design for me. I went with my son and we both felt so comfortable right away even though it was our first time. The studio is so clean and located in a beautiful and safe downtown. the ink used was plant based so I felt more confident of not experiencing any side effects. Kevin has excellent ability with the tools he uses. More importantly, though, Kevin is a true artist. He knows where a line should go, not just how to put it there. He is passionate about the craft of tattooing, and about the artistic quality of the piece he is creating. He has an incredibly gifted and creative eye for detail. However, he is also versatile. If you scroll through his large portfolio on the business Facebook page, you can see he is adept at many traditional and non-traditional types of tattoo. His cover-ups are genius works of working with what he's got. His portraits are so impressive - the eyes really look like they have life in them. They don't look like cartoon versions of people's faces. I have gotten two tattoos done at Iconic Ink in recent months. The first was a typography only tattoo, but each line done in a different style. I had an image in my head of what I wanted and Kevin made it happen. I sat with him at the computer and he not only gave me great ideas, he was also very receptive to my opinion and critique. At the end it was something we both absolutely loved. This experience, and by talking with Kevin at length about my next piece, made me very confident that Iconic Ink could make my imagined tattoo a reality. I had envisioned a tattoo of Ben Franklin knitting for the longest time. Kevin listened to what I wanted, did a TON of research, not just on Ben Franklin, but the technical aspects of knitting, holding yarn, etc, then combined everything with gorgeous scroll work that reflected the old $100 bill into a portrait that could have been on an engraving plate circa 1776. It is masterful, plain and simple. Kevin's prices are so reasonable ($75/hour) and he never charges more than he quotes you. Consultations are free! He takes his work seriously, but he's lots of fun to talk to. He is thoughtful about your level of endurance, and regularly checked in on my comfort level throughout our 5-hour appointment. He will not compromise the quality of the work, though, which I really appreciated. I recommend Iconic Ink to anyone! What can I say? I never expected to find an awesome place and artist in such a little town so close to my house! I don't know why, but I was looking around much further than home. I am so happy with my new tattoo and the experience with Kevin that I have recommended him to everyone. Kevin is a trained illustrator. He takes great pains in the details of his design and it shows. He is not interested in slapping some copy of stamp from a book, he is creating true customized artwork. This place is so cool. I wanted to get a tattoo and drove by this place a few weeks ago on my way to Millbury so I stopped in. The artist is amazing. It wasn't like a normal shop because there are no designs all over the walls. We discussed what I wanted and he came up with a concept.
