Wasn't exactly what we were expecting. We came in expecting kebab-and-basmati-rice plates but got pita sandwiches, which was disappointing. I had the koobideh kebab, which is ground meat and onion formed on a skewer. It was served with olives, a couple salads, a couple sauces, on top of a pita, with chips on the side and a canned soda. The food was Actually pretty good honestly, but the customer service experience was one of the worst Ive ever had.......and that matters to me. We arrived close to closing time, and within 1 minute of looking at the menu the person at the counter was pushing us to hurry and order because they were closing soon. We placed our order in somewhat of a rush, within 2 minutes after ordering I realized that I had forgotten to order a couple of items, it was still more than 5 minutes before closing. At first I was told they didn't have any more of what I asked for, then when i asked for something else he says that they have it but wont sell it to me because they are closing soon......After spending nearly 40 euros on dinner, I'm unable to have what I want to order, which I would have ordered in the first place if I had not been being rushed. He was very rude and made it clear that my happiness as a customer was the least of his concern. Really spoiled my experience and my evening to be treated that way. Like I said earlier the food was pretty good, but I will never return and risk being treated like that again......There's lots of really good food in Dublin, and I was treated very well and had wonderful experiences every where I went except here.. read more

Long time Zaytoon frequenter. When I realised that they had a catering wing I had these guys cater my wedding. It was amazing. Genuinely 10/10. They were totally on the ball and very attentive before the day. They gave us a lot of attention especially given that, I assume, the restaurants make more on an average Saturday than what we were paying. On the day the food tasted and looked great. All the guests, including the normally meat and two veg Irish people, raved about it. It was one of the highlights of the wedding. That and marrying my wife, obviously. And in terms of price it was also very reasonable, especially given what some other places will try to charge for wedding food. This restaurant is a great find. Super flavorful and healthy... what more could you want? I know... it's also inexpensive! Real food and good- portions. I had the saffron chicken kabobs with rice and salad. The veg was marinated and was bright and fresh. The sauces are fantastic and it came with spicy and a tzatziki- like sauce. Great balance. This is a smaller version of the Camden Street restaurant. It is still the same great food. Everything is fresh, and tasty. My husband and I always share the platter for two. Such a deal for €22. There is no alcohol served here, they have a variety of soda and bottled water. That definitely does not steer us away from the delicious food. They also offer local delivery and catering. read more

yes i'm a fan of donar kebabs and i really like zaytoon. The chilli is hot but the garlic balances out the tastebud tingling thrashing. I was there last night and last month and both times the company was good but so far i have'nt been in there overly sober! not sure if thats a prerequisite but if i'm starving after a few beers there's nothing better than a kebab. However as there is not near me then coming here is a seldom but pleasant treat. The next day you might need two times around the block in order to work off some of the calories tho! read more

I had a vegetable kebab here the other night and it was pretty incredible. The bread (like a huge pita covering the plate) was a nice little platter for all the goodies on top. The veggie kebab include tomatoes, zucchini, mushrooms, and onions. The flavors were good! I was most impressed with the red chili sauce and the cabbage. The cabbage was like a vinegar slaw and I probably could eat a whole bowl of just that if you put it in front of me. The red chili sauce had good flavor although not very spicy. The white sauce was something between tzaziki and ranch but it was also good. Zaytoon on Parliament St is very similar to its Camden St branch, but if I were giving rating out of ten, I would give Camden St a 9 and Parliament St maybe a 7. I ate dinner here last night and the food was great - just as good as always i.e. the best kebabs in town, but I'm just not as keen as the restaurant itself. The one on Camden St is bigger, and just a bit nicer and brighter. Now obviously, at 3am you couldn't give a flying flute what the restaurant was like, but I was sober last night and the surroundings in Parliament St weren't as nice as they could be. This place is a find! It's a great Persian restaurant with amazing smells that lure you in from the street as you walk by in Dublin. We had been out and about walking and were headed back to our AirBNB which was a few doors down from here. We couldn't resist. We ordered the mixed dinner with grilled chicken, salad, rice, hummus, pita...the works. First and foremost, it's a LOT of food! My hubby and I halved everything and were so glad we did. Everything was delicious. We didn't have to wait long even though it was late at night and there were a lot of people in line. It was brought to our table quickly and we dug in with much excitement. The chicken was grilled perfectly and seasoned with salt and pepper. The salad was fresh with creamy dressing and the bread....oh, man...the bread was heavenly. I believe it's more of a naan type of bread than a pita, but it was amazing. We actually went back and got an extra piece of it. Nothing was bland or disappointing and we gobbled it down heartily. This is a great food find -- especially late at night -- on the edge of the Temple Bar area. Great pricing and quick service. The chicken donner is phenomenal, and big enough for two to split unless you're ravenous. Pita is INCREDIBLY fresh and the chicken is tender and seasoned to perfection. Get it without the two sauces and see how good it is by itself! The lamb is good too but a bit more oily. I didn't enjoy the saffron spice on the chicken shish, so I'd advise skipping this and getting the donner! Also love that they have the nutrition info on the wall. This is exactly what a kebab place should be - it's tasty, not overpriced, fast, and has a good variety on offer - plus the kitchen is completely open to view so you don't have to worry about the possibility of really questionable cooking conditions / dirty kitchen like I kind of do in other kebab joints... Not too much to say about it otherwise. Zaytoons will get your kebab craving fulfilled without any fuss - plus it's one of the few kebab places I've been willing to visit sober in the middle of the afternoon (I like to call this phenomenon "Daytoons"). So I accidentally walked in this place early but the owner allowed me so sit. That was nice. I ordered the stuffed aubergines. It was very nice and came with bread and some salads. It was very delicious and filling. The size was good for the price. The vibe seemed casual. The only issue I had was that they kept playing the same song over and over in the store. After I got my meal I still couldn't decide on what meat I liked! Chicken, beef or lamb; all were great. Very different seasoning was wonderful, not hot just wonderfully seasoned. I had so much food that I couldn't finish mine. My husband helped me out by making sure it didn't go to waste! The humus was fabulous kept thinking how much my daughter would like this. Ordinarily I am a fan of Zaytoon but last night I was so disappointed. I got my veggie kebab to go after the Elite Event that sent my belly a go go with all the coffee beans. Admittedly the walk home took longer due to the snow and the kebab was not hot when I got in but I dunno €7 for 2 half tomatoes, an undercooked mushroom, undercooked onion and a few charity courgettes seems a bit steep to me. I really like the food here, especially now that I've tried it sober for the first time and it still stood up to muster! The introduction of new dish sizes was a great idea and I had a special (the new smaller size kebab) and a can of coke for 7.50 which is downright reasonable by anyone's standards and in comparison to a big mac or whopper which are in the same price range is top notch. I would give this place a full on 5 stars if it wasn't for the rather rude staff, I've always hesitated to judge because any other time I've Zaytooned I've been somewhat...' tired and emotional', but this was pre-drinkning, 6pm ish and the staff were still acting as if it was 3am and they were tired of dealing with drunken idiots and automatically assume you are one. This is the first time I've been displeased with a Zaytoon experience and it was still fabulous. I went in for the lunch special, any kebab is a tenner with chips and a soft drink. The queue was unusually slow, despite only being fifth in the queue I waited oh five minutes to be served. I got my receipt and went to sit down, my order was ticket number 33. I heard them call for ticket 18, and my heart sank. In true Zaytoon fashion, however, I was waiting less than ten minutes, but with all the yummy food around me it seemed to take forever. When I went to pick up my order, though, there was no chips, and I asked for my chips and was told I wasn't supposed to get any. I think the server didn't realise that the lunch special included chips. I'm not much of a chips person anyhoo so I decided not to argue the toss, but still. The Zaytoon lamb shish kebab is immeasurably superior to the doner version, as the shish is lumps of moist, lightly spiced meat served on their gorgeous bread and salad and the best garlic sauce in the world ever poured on top. (The doner, by contrast, is to my taste oversalted slices of meat). I could have done with some extra garlic sauce actually, but I can't say it was not a generous portion. The bread was deliciously fresh as always, I just love everything to do with their shish kebabs, everything. So with the delays and lack of chips and hankering for an extra bit of garlic sauce it wasn't my best Zaytoon experience, but it was still damn good. read more

Myself and the other half have had had seperate nights out that were equally bad and we both just wanted to go home. However, upon crossing paths we realised that we're both hungry. So I suggested we head to Zaytoon... There were 2 reasons: 1. I heard the food was nice. 2. We were standing right outside. So we headed in and ordered some hummous and bread while we decided on what we wanted to eat. There we sat, telling stories of our crappy nights out. Discussing stuff like friends who had said they were over the relationship that ended 2 years ago but after a few vodkas suddenly had suddenly forgiven him/her all of their trespasses etc. etc. etc. I eventually had a chicken kebab that was excellent and beside the point. What I'm getting at is that these 4 stars that you see up there are actually for the atmosphere in Zaytoon. It was relaxed, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious and well priced.
