I made a work trip to Ireland earlier this month staying at the Camden Court Hotel. Zaytoon is across the street from the hotel and it's open late. They have a good selection of Mediterranean cuisine (shish kabobs, falafels). I've eaten there most at the end of the night of hanging out at different pubs and their food really hit the spot. I remember their beef shish or falafel meals. Their meat and falafel balls seem fresh and their stuff includes fresh veggies. They turn their orders around very quickly at late night, either for dine-in or take-away. They have plenty of dine-in seating. Zaytoon and its staff were very helpful at the late night rush, I'm assuming they're just as good during the day. read more

Zaytoon is a Persian restaurant offering a fast-casual menu of Mediterranean-influenced kebabs and other dishes. I tried the Beef Kebab, the Koobideh (spiced ground lamb and beef), and the Falafel (herbaceous chickpea fritters). The kebabs were juicy and flavorful, but the falafels were too soft, wet, and crumbly for my liking. The family-style menu also came with hummus, tzatziki, a spicy chili sauce, salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, red onion, pickled red cabbage), and freshly-baked rounds of taftoon flatbread. I don't know what to say. This review was supposed to be written sometime in 2019, and I still think about how amazing the food was to this day. This place had the most delicious food I had in Dublin. After exploring Dublin, my friends and I were looking for food places that were still open at night. We found this place from Yelp - There's quit a lot of seating, and the menu is quite extensive. As a pescatarian, I appreciated that there were both vegetarian and pescatarian options. I chose the Salmon shish. I was quite hungry; I had enough food to feel full and have leftovers. Definitely a must if you're visiting Dublin! read more

Zaytoon served up the best meal we had in Dublin! We ordered their Cholo Kebab and Chicken Shish Kebab Plates and we cleared our plates the food was so good. As an Iranian American who has grown up eating this food, I can say Zaytoon is some of the best fast Iranian food I've ever tasted. Quality and portions are outstanding and the prices are super reasonable. Service was friendly and there was plenty of seating when we arrived around 7:30 on a Sunday evening. The veggie kebab is the best -- grilled to perfection and served either on top of a pita or rolled into a pita sandwich. The food here is quality. I got a small Mix Donner twice and was satisfied both times. Make it a meal to get tasty fries and a soda and you really have enough food for a meal. It's very filling. The inside of the restaurant is nice as well. The only reason I'm removing a star is because it took way too long to make my food. The Mix Donner took 20 minutes to make. They seem to cater to carry out food services as some lady with the local carry out company (forgot what it's called) came in and got her order like immediately which I guess pushed my order to the back of the queue. Wow, talk about savory Persian food at it's best! I already can't wait to to do lunch here again! So, I ordered the: Mixed Donner (€8.00) with chicken and lamb slices. Just seeing the meat slapped up by the heater and pieces sliced onto my plate was sooo juicy nice! It's always cool to see and smell that spiced up marinated goodness. Especially if you're viewing it from outside the window. Everything was put together on a fresh pita / flatbread. Then topped with shredded lettuce, chili and garlic sauce, red cabbage, red onion slices, cheese, and olives. My friend ordered the Fish Kebab (€8.50) with fresh marinated salmon. It was spiced up and grilled on a skewer, then just like mine; Went on a flatbread, and topped with the goods. He shared a piece of the salmon, and it makes me wanna try this next time! All of this, also came with chips and a drink. So, this made for a really good deal. Overall, the meal was juicy and just totally filled me up! I even had one of their baklavas, and it was perfect! The service was kind of dry, but the large plate of food over looked all of that. The dining area was clean, and relaxing. They even have a few monitors showing a video of the way they operate their business. I was amazed with the bread making process, and the simple fact that it's hard to find a good place that still makes fresh bread. Eating the flatbread the best part of it all! A great place for a quick meal and with a handy location close to plenty of bars, Zaytoon is infamous for being a late-night post-pub pit stop. It wasn't late when we stopped in, but I won't deny we were a few beers in by that point. We tried the lamb donner and chicken shish-kebabs... both served on fresh bread with salad and sauce. You have an option of two sizes; we ordered the small (€7) and they did us just fine. If you're particularly hungry, you can upgrade to the regular size for another €1.50. We were starving, and they majorly hit the spot. What sets them apart is the bread, which is made fresh to order in a clay oven. Chewy, smoky, crusty deliciousness. I've been here twice. I got the same things both times, I really need to be more adventurous! :P Anyway I got hummus and bread which was really yum - please see attached my smiley faced hummus I got saturday night :P The bread is like naan bread, and is really tasty with the hummus. I also sampled some garlic chips which were quite tasty too. I've only been here at night, so that's about 2am, and it's been full to the brim of hungry punters after a night out. Having said that, service the two times have been quick, wasn't waiting any longer than 4 or 5 mins to receive my order. The kebabs looks really tasty so I might try those another time :) They're open 7 days from 12pm to 4am. So it's nice to know you don't have to make a dash for it after the pub closes! read more

Time to re-access my last review - crikey this is my third update for Zaytoons. A personal record probably. So we'd been back a few times since that not so good experience I spoke of in my last review. But today's meal was so yum, I couldn't not update my review. We ordered the platter for two, which costs 22 EUR. My gosh was it tasty and was there lots of it. It came with two nans, which shared between them had lamb meat skewered kebab, chicken skewer kebab and a kudibeh kebab. The usual salads and sauces where there too, with two very generous bowls of hummus and tzatziki. You've won me back completely Zaytoon. That platter was yummy. read more

Just went in for a late night snack. Ordered the lamb kabob plain with rice. Lamb quantity is pretty much on par with one order but well worth it for the 11 euros they charge. Plus 1 for the rice. 12 euros for a lamb kabob plate. Lamb was nicely cooked, not hard like some places make it. Seasoning varied from piece to piece but overall satisfactory. The guy calling out orders was confused that I did not want a salad tonight so he tossed in an extra soda for me :). Baklavas, not my usual type as I am from the US but tasty, very juicy. The kebabs are ok, not the best in Dublin. I´ve been for lunch few times, always sober at midday, maybe my experience is a bit different than the midnight visitors. They use to have a deal with drink and chips for a good price for Monday to Wednesday. The deal is good for lunch. They offer two sizes, normal and big. The normal size is ok, but if you like to eat more meat go for the big size. The service is not too friendly, nobody is perfect, I guess. However the venue is nice, a bit dark, what can hide the wrinkle but the sparkle in the eyes as well. read more

I had : The chicken shish kebab and chips (every time!) Whether your heading out and need something to line your stomach before a big night out or about to head home after one, Zaytoon is your place. It gets VERY crowded when the pubs and clubs start to shut but do not be put off by the big queue. It is totally worth it. The garlic sauce is very good, the meat seems to be good quality and the bread is yummy too. I've also tried the hummus which was very good. There are two portion sizes so if you're not ravenous or want to gorge on sides you can opt for the smaller one. I've also been informed that the roast veggie kebab is very tasty but I haven't been able to tear myself away from my tried and tested chicken shish. read more

If there was an award for Restarants starting with Z, I think Zaytoon would definitly win hands down. Its a late night Kebab joint but with seats and its also quite comfortable. This second branch, was I'm guessing set up to serve the drunken hoards of the south end of the city centre. Open 16 hours a day, thats till 4 in the morning. If your on a night out Wexford street or eveyones favourite sweatbox Coppers, then you'll probably be in here at some stage of the morning. The menu is pretty straighforward and consists mostly of Kebabs and chips and a variety of sauces on the chips. The chicken shish is worth a look. Our first night in Dublin, my friends and I decided to wander the neighborhood by our place. Before we knew it though, it was after 11 and most places we tried to visit had already closed their kitchens. Since we hadn't eaten for many hours because of traveling, we were starving. Luckily, we found Zaytoon and they serve food until 4 AM! The employees were quite friendly, and we received our orders pretty quickly: small lamb doner meal for me, small beef barg meal for my friend, and small chicken kabob meal for her bf. There was so much food! Each of us received a generous portion of meat, a ton of rice, salad, pickled cabbage, and a small side of fries, plus drinks. The food was really good and very reasonable. I heared a lot about this restaurant since I arrived into Dublin so I decided to go and have a meal by myself. Oh Zaytoon, how I love this place! I'm not gonna lie, I can't vouch for a whole variety of delicacies from this most classiest of kebab cabarets. Chicken-shish-kebab with cheese and garlic sauce is my go-to. I'm also gonna refrain from telling porkies in saying that I have frequented Zaytoons completely sober at any time. However, after doing the impossible and only having "one drink", I decided to test out my post-3am favourite, and see if it really stood up pre-11pm. Boy does it. There are so many things good about Zaytoon kebabs. They don't skimp with fillings. The garlic sauce is to die for (quite literally if you are waking up to someone who ate it the night before). The chicken is good chicken. Not crappy plastic stuff. The flatbread is light and fluffy and warm and yum. The place is clean. The service is fast. (And surprisingly friendly considering the general sauced-up clientele!) It can be a little pricey if you go the whole hog with chips, drinks etc, unless you're here at lunchtime for the €6 kebab, small chips, and drinks, but do consider that each kebab is enough for three meals all up, true story. Walking in from the outside It looked as If we were going into small diner but It's a huge place on the inside. We walked in, the open kitchen to the left of us. I ordered the Lam Shish Kebab with Rice for €10 and a drink of my choosing. I went with Doogh/Aryan, traditional Persian yogurt (curdled milk) seasoned with mint. And it tasted exactly like salty, minty yogurt would. For those concerned whether their meat is Halal, no worries. They have got a certificate of authenticity that states not only are the lambs of Irish descent but have all been slaughtered in the name of God. And those worried about their nutritional health intake, need not worry as well. You have your own nutritional information board. Overall a good place to grub. read more

Whereas the one closer to Temple Bar is usually crowded and has in-store guards at night time (judging by their appearance I wouldn't mess with them), the one on Lower Camden seems to be a bit more relaxed. Came here a couple of times at different times of the day/night, mainly to get my Kebab cravings solved. They serve decent Persian food. Don't expect to get your Döner Kebab (or donner, how they call it) to go, it comes on a plate with some salad aside and bread. Also expect to pay about 8 Euro for a single kebab (yes you heard right) or about 10.50 Euro for a meal. Recommended: Barg (fillet of beef marinated with saffron and own special spices grilled on a skewer) and Lamb Döner (Lamb marinated with spices with bread).with spices with bread). read more

You are my saving grace at 3am which at one point I use to say I'd eats anything at that hour however I've since had your food sober and again, it does not disappoint. It's the perfect spot for a kebab, day or night... They have a nice dining / indoor seating space here and as I drink/socialise around this area quite a lot, this has become my go to place after a boozy night but I love the order they have in here, they have security but it's more about just making sure it more smoothly and it does, there is an air of sophistication, well particularly if you compare the same 3am experience in a burger king! Ok, enough about by post boozing food adventures... This place is great, tasty food with is priced really well. Always pleasantly stuffed and often recommend this place to others. Staff no matter how much, they are always friendly and polite. Zaytoon: the restaurant for the kebab konnisseur. I might be slightly unusual in that I'm one of those people that will go for the occasional daytime kebab as well as drunken ones. And Zaytoon is the place to go if you want a kebab to taste nice as well as fill you full of grease and carbs. I think where Zaytoon really come into their own is not with their kebabs (which are, let me state, excellent) but with their sides, in which niche they are the sole occupiers. Their taziki, hummus, pittas... all that lark. Here's a controversial one though - Zaytoon is not my favourite place to get a kebab in Dublin (gasp!) They arguably do the best kebabs, but I have enormous affection for Hot Chili on Kevin St. Their shitty name and sign, the fact that they don't put as much effort into their decor because they're prepared to let the food do the talking (either that or they're just not arsed). And for daytime kebabianites, Hot Chili is small and very homely, whereas Zaytoon is quite big and never even nearly fills up during the day, so the place can be very empty when you're eating. Went here after the Yelp! Elite Event on Sunday with 2 people and they both almost fished a whole kabab in one sitting! I was impressed! When I got a veggie kabab before it lasted me two good sized meals. I guess they were really hungry. I don't recall what they both got but no one had anything bad to say about the food (and eating it all is a sign of something good!). I only got chips and garlic sauce, and I was very hesitent about the garlic sauce because it was €1,50. Turns out, its a WHOLE container. I was gonna write a review of Zaytoon, since I stumbled upon it the other day (quite literally). But when I saw that others had done a great job doing so, I didn't find anything I could add ;-) but got convince to do it anyway. So here it goes: Had the Doner kebap (or so I seem to remember). Have to say I LOVED the sides (lettuce, red and white cabbage, onions, tomatoes) and the garlic sauce is great! It just elevates the dish above anything I've had in Dublin so far. Jesus, I still remember the first manky kebab I had at the chipper across from DCU. My only recommendation would be to use a Pita-style bread with a pocket rather than the wrap style. It would make life a lot easier and way less messy for the mostly intoxicated crowd - myself included. It reminded me a lot of the stuff you get in Germany, where it's one of the most popular fast foods and they apparently have sales of 2.5 billion Euros each year (thanks Wikipedia). It's the closest I've come to a delish Kebab and it's really authentic (for a German style Doner Kebab), well if authentic means a Turkish dish adjusted by a Turk living in Berlin. I normally end up in here after a night out and it certainly hits the spot and helps with the hangover the day after. It's not your typical dirty, greasy kebab so you could get away with having it sober too. They make their own naan bread on site as well which makes a big difference. The one thing I've been disappointed with was the humus but I'll let that slide read more

You can't beat a good mixed donner kebab meal. The staff are usually excellent and don't mind when you ask for extra chilli sauce. The lunch time deal of any kebab+chips+drink for €8 cannot be beaten. It's so filling that you will find yourself not wanting a full dinner when the time comes. Not long ago, I tried my first Doner Kebab while visiting Bucharest (yup-Bucharest). I enjoyed it, but since "everything" on it included french fries, I was suspicious that I should try one without to get a better sense of what might typically come on a kebab. Looking through reviews on Yelp, I thought Zaytoon looked like a very good bet. With a cold that just keeps lingering on though, I thought delivery might be a good option on a chilly, rainy evening. So I ordered through just-eat.ie Because the delivery minimum was very low (8 euros plus 1.50 delivery fee), I was able to order just what I wanted and didn't feel obligated to buy extras just to make the minimum order. I chose the Chicken-Shish, which is listed as a house specialty, and I opted to have the bread kept separate rather than have everything delivered as a ready-made roll. I was concerned that the sauces might make a mess by the time the food reached my door. It took an hour for the food to arrive (the shop is about a 10-minute walk from my apartment), but I did anticipate that it would likely take awhile. I wasn't concerned at all by the time; I was just really grateful to have the food brought to me! What was terrific was that everything arrived in tasty, perfect order. The house-made bread was lightly charred - just enough for flavor, was nicely packed in paper, and was as soft as butter. The chicken was hot & a golden yellow (thanks to the saffron, no doubt) in its separate container, and the salad, garlic sauce and chili sauce were nicely chilled and tidy in their own containers. After a quick assembly, I can agree with other reviewers here to say that this is one very tasty treat! Thinking I might have too many ingredients for just one kebab, I'd thought ahead and ordered an extra portion of bread for the next day. Good thing! The portions were very generous, and and I enjoyed the 2nd day's wrap almost as much as the first. I'm now an official fan of kebabs and of Zaytoon. I look forward to stopping in some evening before the "night" crowds arrive (you know what I mean....!) read more
