This place has gradually gone downhill since it opened. Last night was the icing on the cake! Daughter went through to get wings last night , 20 mins before closing. Obviously they (cook in the back ) was upset about that. The lady taking the order was pushing to for the boneless wings - and my daughter said " no, just regular ones ".. and she heard the staff say "she's gone wait?!?!" She waited a few minutes and the COOK brought the order out the car, he shoved them in the window and said "Next Time GO TO WHATABURGER" when my daughter came home and told me what happened, (restaurant was still open ) I called up there and the manager (Kerra) was apologetic and helpful - she called out the guy that did it (Da'Von) and said "a cook should've never walked out to the car!! " that's how I knew it was the cook said she was going to write him up and asked that I do so as well.. normally wouldn't take the time to do this - but have noticed over the last year that not only the staff but the food and presentation , has all gone down hill - (I went there 3 or 4 months ago and orders kids meal for my son .. bread was cold and like the pulled it out of a freezer - back when the restaurant opened, bread was warm and toasted - little things like that - salads aren't as good as they used to be.. etc. when my daughter came home and opened the bag - they put in 30 napkins (she ordered 10 dry wings, and a water ) 8 packages of silverware, 4 cookies, sugar packets salt packets .. you name it! (You could tell the guy was just trying to be a jerk). And the wings were thrown in the box celery on top . Just a mess! (Just wrote this, on the off chance someone else goes through there and thinks "is it my imagination or is the food and service not like I remembered? ". It's hard to tell what kind of restaurant Zaxby's is from the outside. It looks nice, but has a drive thru. Following in the footsteps of McD's and the King, Zaxby's is the newest fast food restaurant that I've seen go upscale. The interior is decked out like a Chili's with pictures and knick-knacks. The pictures drove my wife crazy because they are all slightly crooked. Zaxby's menu is chicken only. Chicken sandwich, chicken salad, chicken wings... So it is a must compare to Chick-fil-a, my favorite chicken place. The Zaxby's menu does not overlap much with Chick-fil-a's menu. Suprising there could be that many chicken choices. They also jazz up their menu by replacing any "s" with a "z" (eg. Zalad) - cute, huh? (NO). So far, we've been twice. I got the Zaxby's Club first and the Cajun Club second (real adventurous, I know!). My wife got an asian style salad first and the House salad second (OK, maybe we should take out more insurance on me.) The Zaxby's club was on toast with fried chicken. I thought it was dry and didn't care that much for the chicken (compared to CFA). The fries look seasoned on the pictures, but the seasoning is bland. The fries are also crinkle cut - which are my least favorite fry shape. The Cajun club was much better, very tender and moist, but without a hint of "Cajun" flavor. My wife liked the House salad better than the asian one, but was a little freaked out by the PINK raspberry vinnagrette dressing. It tasted fine, just strange looking. Our kids ate well-fried chicken strips cant' be beat for them. The staff of the restaurant is all teenagers and they are not the most helpful. We waited at the counter to ask for extra items like knives, when I asked to switch a kids sandwich for one with no sauce, the employee just disappeared without any explanation of when or how I'd get the new sandwich (it came out in a few minutes). One employee was very nice and helpful, the others, not so much. To compare again to CFA, this is something CFA does really well. Overall, I don't think we'll be eating at Zaxby's very often. read more

Awful experience. No one in the line and the "fast" food took 20+ minutes while the staff inside were not working and acting unprofessional at the window. The worker brings the food out to the car and puts the receipt in my face and asks "Is it that?" in regards to me verifying my own order. Food is excellent, especially the fried pickle's... they are my favorite. The Zaxbys sauce is great and their wings make a great appetizer. The one BIG recommendation i have is Don't charge extra for your sauce. This is the one reason i will go to chickfilet more than i will Zaxbys. I am a heavy sauce dipper. The Staff tonight was not on their A-Game. I came in at 8:40PM and I could tell they were annoyed. My fried pickle order was way smaller than the last time with only twenty or so pickles, I was disappointed as this is one of the BIG reasons I come. I felt cheated. I have definitely seen better. This became the weekend of chicken for lunch between Saturday's meal at Bailey's and this meal on Sunday for lunch. First of all, I should warn you -- Zaxby's doesn't serve anything but chicken. So, if you're not wanting chicken, consider another lunch option. However, the chicken strips and fries, in my opinion, exceed Raising Cane's. The strips and fries both receive a bit more time in the fryer, which makes for a tastier fried meal. The service is friendly and there's lemon slices for the tea. It had been awhile since we had been to zaxby's, so I decided to get dinner for my son and I, since we were the only 2 eating dinner at home that night. We had a simple order - 2 salads and cheddar bites. I asked for no chicken on my salad since I don't eat meat. But, that was the only modification. We were asked to pull to the side and wait. That's not a big deal as we normally have to wait for the cheddar bites. 25 minutes later, we're still waiting and my newborn is in the backseat screaming his head off from sitting still so long. The girl finally comes to the car and tells me she accidentally gave my cheddar bites to someone else, so she has to get more. She'll also throw in a cookie for my trouble. About 10 minutes later, she's back with the cheddar bites and cookie. I was busy trying to calm down the baby, so I didn't bother to check the salads. After all, who can screw up salad? Well, apparently Zaxby's. My son got a Cobb salad and I got a garden salad. What we ended up with was 2 garden salads with chicken in them. Plus they added blue cheese throughout, which I've never gotten on my salad before (btw, I hate blue cheese). We also had a random order of chicken strips, cold cheddar bites, the cookie, and the pen they were using. We also got the wrong salad dressing for both. I ended up throwing away my salad since the blue cheese was mixed in and I don't eat meat. I would have been fine with the cheddar bites, but they were still cold in the middle. So, those were a waste, as well. But, at least we got a decent cookie and a free pen out of it. read more

I have tried to like this place because my daughter likes it. BUT, I haven't any better to use other than this place bites! I have gone there twice, and both times I have been utterly disappointed. My biggest gripe in eating out, is to have to wait for your food, and it to arrive lukewarm. This has happened twice. Had the chicken strip meal and a side of fried pickles. Trash! If I want chicken strips and toast, I will go to the orange and white burger spot. The flavor was terrible in the strips. The breading was all wrong. The fries were the crincle cut ones you buy from the grocery store. Fried pickles were over salted. I didn't even bother with my coleslaw. Definitely worth it! I'd give Zaxby's 10 stars if possible maybe more. I just catered my baby shower this past weekend and ordered over 100 tenders and 50 wings. My chicken was fresh and flavorful, my fries were perfectly crisp and stayed warm for my guest to enjoy with the perfect amount of season. I received all my sauces and utensils, and thanks to the service I received it was on time right when I asked for! 10/10 would do it again and recommended them to everyone who asked what I catered today! read more

I've eaten here before and couldn't complain but driving thru and ordering a shake I get the typical lie of the machine being broken. Asked for a manager and the lady admitted the machine was fine and couldn't understand why the young boy taking my order said otherwise. The food is fine; fairly pricey and not as high of quality as Caine's (the fries I'm almost certain are the frozen kind), but the staff is consistently rude. In particular, there is an older African American woman who runs the drive-thru and is ALWAYS extremely grumpy and impatient. She gives you a nasty glare when you're paying and just has no hint of politeness about her. I understand if she isn't thrilled with her job, but it's still her job and if you're going to work in a customer service position you have to be able to be friendly and courteous. Restaurant is clean and decor is nice. We all got chicken plates and the breading was good, all white chicken, and crispy. I am not a fan of crinkle cut fries but the spices on them were really pretty good. With their plates you get a slice of bread and slaw. My husband and I eat here about once a week we love the food. Tonight I came in and I was missing my coleslaw in my meal. I called the shop to ask if they were not giving out coleslaw that night, they were. I was not mad or angry about the mistake so I thanked them and hung up the phone. Kerra the manager called me back and provided the greatest customer service that I had gotten in the longest time. The service was a bit slow and they weren't really on top of things. For example one worker placed the sweet tea dispenser on the counter next to the cash register. I waited thinking she was going to walk out the side door to move it next to the drinks but I was wrong. About 15 minutes later another coworker had noticed it there and moved to where it belong. So, on my husband's way home from work he sometimes drives thru to get us Caesar salads. He orders add on tomatoes and cucumbers. My husband takes for granted the order is right. For the last few times, no tomatoes and no cucumbers. I was so frustrated I called up to talk to the manager. First of all, this kid pretending to be the manager wants me to drive up there to get tomatoes and cucumbers. I said no. Then she says in a smart way, we'll what do you want me to do about it? Really??? When I ask for her name, she refuses. I ask her why and she says there are a lot of managers. Are you kidding me? No wonder Panera Bread has taken away all their business. My first time here, and the food was very disappointing. The tenders had no flavor with too much batter, the wings were slimy and their sauces (both original and tough tamer) were not good. All of their dipping sauces and ranch come in pre-packaged containers, and aren't made in house, which means they aren't good. The cheese bites are mostly batter. Seriously, I haven't been that disappointed in a meal in a very long time. Slim Chickens is a much, much better choice with a similar menu. Absolutely terrible. Waited 20 min in drive-thru for food and then the Mgr comes out and says he was showing them how to make the chicken the right way. Every time we order to go, food comes in different size containers. Sometimes a large fry is in the styrofoam container of the Zak meal, other times it is a small styrofoam. A small fry comes in the small styrofoam or the children's meal cardboard box. The cheese bites the small styrofoam or children's meal box. Today I'm very disappointed with the food I received. On my lunch break I always get the Zaxby's club sandwich. Well today I noticed the sandwich look and taste totally different from what I usually get. It's not fresh, the cheese not even melted, and lastly the bread is different. We tried this location a month ago and it took 30+ minutes to get a zax pack of chicken tenders. The only thing that kept us from writing off this place was the manager making it right. Tonight I went in for another attempt and like an idiot I didn't check order before leaving. A twenty minute drive home and I find a messed up order. Mystery solved why I always see zaxbys parking lots empty. Decided to give it a try. The French fries were like the ones you put in the oven at the house. While I was waiting I saw an employee just hanging out in the kitchen eating and chatting, then got my food together. How lovely. My highly processed grilled chicken breast was somewhat tough and had authentic "grill marks" as it came out of the warmer. Sweet tea was mediocre. 1 star! Are you insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here is the deal with Zaxbys. Get buffalo chicken strips, Tongue Torch (hot) flavor. Then get a side of fries and dip them in Zax sauce. If you would then rate Zaxbys any less than 4 stars you would be out of your mind! This is a chain very popular in Georgia and through out the south east. We are very lucky to have one here in Houston. They have some other great choices such as the cajun club sandwich and the kickin chicken sandwich.The bufalo bleu salad is easily one of the greatest salads in the world. Wings are not very good, its all about the strips. Great service, great food. And it is nothing like chickfila, other that it concentrates on chicken, has quality food, and good service. Nice clean family fast food restaurant. We enjoy bringing the kids here for chicken fingers and fries.

Honestly I only crave this place when I feel like eating their toast. I really do love their toast... I usually get the big zax snack meal deal that comes with fries and a drink. It's smaller than their other meals such as the chicken finger plate, but it always does the job and gets me full. The chicken finger plate does not come with a drink so you would have to buy that separately. I personally do like their zaxby sauce and would eat it with the chicken fingers. I don't like dipping my fries in it bcause it makes it taste super salty to me. I always get their sweet tea which isn't the best I have ever had so I like to mix the lemonade with it to give it an extra kick. Everytime I go to this place the service seems pretty good. It's rarely ever busy at the times I go which is usually around the late afternoon. read more
