Zaxby's used to be a go to for me. But after last night June 29, 2025, I will never ask for it again. They had apparently run out of containers and put each individual item in sandwich boxes. It was all cold despite being asked to pull up and wait. Ordered tea half sweet half unsweetened, why, no one listens. It's gotten to the point with the cost involved that places like zaxby's should be better. But they are not. I know it's not the best job, but it's just as hard to do a good job as it is to do badly. And last night was bad! The food was not good at all. Buffalo wings smelled funny. The fries were obviously old. And the Texas toast was crushed flat and spongy. Super friendly service - quick too. But the food sucks. We ordered the Snack meal, a chicken finger plate, fried cheese bites, and egg rolls to go. Got home to find no snack meal. The chicken was cooked well, but really doesn't taste good. The egg rolls were ok. Fried cheese bites were not. I called to tell them they omitted part of my order and the number goes straight to voice mail. The drive through operator was so pleasant, the food was fresh, and it was an overall great pitstop choice for a quick bite to eat! We accidentally chose the zensation salad without specifying the shrimp (we are catholic and can't eat meat of Fridays during lent). When entering the building to exchange salads, one of the Zaxbys employees opened the door for me and politely greeted me. The Ladies at the front counter were so understanding, gave us our shrimp salad, and only charged us the price difference of the shrimp. I went thru the drive thru. Food was ok except for the fries. Seems that's a norm...rude rude cashier at the window. Yep, I notified a manager on line. Fast response. Assured me the issue would be addressed. Nothing runs me off from a restaurant faster than to have rude-ill mannered workers. I ordered two meals to eat in the dining room and one to-go meal for lunch the next day. The wait for the dining meals wasn't too bad. The wait on my to-go salad was uncalled for. After I finished my meal I went to check on my to-go order and they had forgotten to make it. I had to wait on the order to be made and after we were already home, I discovered that it was incorrect. The wrong salad with fried chicken instead of grilled. I have typically had pleasant experiences with this chain but NOT at this location. If I could give NO stars, I would. I got the limited edition Asian Zalad and the portion was incredibly and ridiculously small and tiny. I won't EVER return to this Zaxby's again. This location is near an interstate exit and a bunch of hotels, so it's conveniently located for travelers. As most Zaxby's are, it was very clean and well kept. The young lady behind the counter was professional and very hospitable. Even though it was lunchtime, I only had to wait a couple of minutes for my meal. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Finger Plate which came w/all of the above and Buffalo sauce on top of the fingers for $6.79 My son ordered a medium Dr Pepper $1.69 and I ordered an Iced Tea $1.69. For a meal grand total of $18.11 The batter on the chicken strips was light, crispy and tasty. The coleslaw was so good I ate mine and his both! I decided the plain fried fingers were better and next time I would order that way and get the buffalo sauce on side to dip in; that way they would remain crispy. The fries are crinkle cut sprinkled w/season salt. We both LOVED it! Would totally recommend - just know it is a fast food restaurant w/drive thru - but inside is a nice step up from a regular fast food restaurant. After this visit we decided we would try more Zaxby's while traveling to Florida. We stopped a few times on the drive just for rest rooms (not the location above) each location was clean and busy w/customers. Ate here as its next to my hotel. Mostly due to the Zaxbys are decent across the board. I got the 6 piece strips with fries and slaw. I got it to go. Food came quick no major wait. Went in for lunch, cashier nowhere to be found, when she finally came out, she walked away from me to the far register, and just stared at me. I made my order, which she acted like I was intruding, then got my cup and straw, stepped back and made me reach behind the counter to get. I am 6'4, and had to reach fully extended to get. Sat and waited for my order, and watched her serve an African American woman, and she was nice, and reached out to hand her her stuff. You can tell as soon as you walk in none of the employees want to be there. I ordered 3 meals and all had ZERO seasoning on the fries. I don't know about y'all but the seasoned fries is part of why I go to zaxbys. Then after receiving my order I needed ketchup and I ask an employee standing right in front of me on the opposite side of the counter but she just ignores me and continues talking with a coworker. This is a typical poorly managed Zaxby's that gets by simply due to traffic off of I20. This place can't even manage their parking lot traffic and I have seen road rage in the lot because people try to cut in line for drive thru ordering. Simply put some cheap cones up in the parking lot and you would have more repeat business. The staff are erratic - sometimes good, sometimes bad and I have received food containers from them thru the drive thru covered with sauce, ruining my shirt. Don't bother complaining to management. They'll call you , send you some coupons and not fix any of the problems. We go to Chicfila instead now. They are just one exit down. read more
