We got two 4 finger plates last night and the coleslaw had completely gone bad, I'm talking rotten, terrible can't get the taste out of your mouth. So we called in and let them know hoping to get a remake since the coleslaw taste had spilled over into the chicken, fries, and toast. 0 customer service training I suppose by the response I got, finally after 10 minutes of waiting on the phone for a manager I was told that I would be able to pick up remade items the following day, when I went they gave me two tubs more of their sick rotten coleslaw and no other items , no refund. It's experiences like these that make you want to cook at home and never eat out again. read more

Total disappointment I used to go to this Zaxby's about 4-5 years ago and it was my favorite fast-food well since I am back in the area I decided to get some and was looking forward to it. Starting with the tray... not sure if they clean the trays but they are greasy and sticky.. it's a turn off already. About the sandwich i could see sauce dripping like water inside the sandwich... the chicken was extremely hot and it didn't feel cooked thru The fries smelled like burned oil.... Just nasty I knew that if I was gonna eat it I would get sick.... So I just left !!! Also the AC is blasting super cold... Does this place have a manager who oversees things???? We love Zaxby's! The chicken is tasty, the folks are friendly, their special sauce is yum. Their sweet tea is the best! Normally, we do drive through. In the last almost three years, we've eaten inside maybe three times. It's often just too busy inside. It's small so finding a seat can be difficult. This last time, I had the chicken Cobb salad. It was awesome! I've had other menu items, as well, and have never been disappointed. They used to have the BEST fried pickles, but they were a limited time item.... I'm still hopeful they'll come back, though, because those pickles alone are worth a visit! My only beef with Zaxby's is that it's a bit costly for what you get, but not too bad. And, if you do eat inside, it's disorganized and slooowww. If they skip your number, they've probably forgotten or misplaced your order. It's happened; a couple of times. Also, they forgot to give us the bbq with Kid's food; when Kid went back up to the counter to ask for it, they said "I'm sorry, bbq cost money." We tried telling them we'd ordered it and they'd forgotten it, but they just sort of shrugged. That was not nice. But man, I really hope they bring back the pickles! Mmmm.... read more

Placed an online order and only option is to pick up inside. When I walked inside I went to the pick up counter where I was ignored multiple times by the woman behind the counter. I continued to wait and multiple employees looked at me and continued to ignore me. I finally was able to get someone's attention and asked for my pickup order and I received the nastiest look like I was a huge inconvenience. I have only ordered salads from Zaxby's, but I have found them to be very yummy and very filling. Today I tried the Zensational Salad which had an Asian inspired flavor. Overall, I found this to be a very good choice. Their salads are served with either grilled or fried chicken and unlike many fast food restaurants the chicken is plentiful. They offer many flavors of salad dressings, but only a couple of fat free or low fat choices - Overall, I enjoy eating at Zaxby's -- and one of these times, I will try the wings! read more

I love Zaxby's and this one is the closest to our house. It's my go to when I want some fast food. Normally order the house salad with fried chicken and fried white cheddar bites. I'd say a good 50% of the time they get my order wrong. I don't do cucumbers or tomatoes and they always end up sneaking their way into my salad. Will continue to go here because it's the closest to us but it's a pain to have to walk back in all the time and have them fix the order. read more

I'm not sure what's going on here, but we all said the same thing. Our chicken tasted old! Zaxby's was the closest place for fried chicken when my coworkers and I decided to stop by and take a lunch break. The place was well kept, the staff was upbeat, and my order came up quick. I ordered a chicken BLT sandwich... I think that's what it was called. Anyhow, the chicken had a weird taste to it. We work outside so as you can imagine we were really hungry so no one said anything. After finishing our lunch and loading back up in the van someone said, "my chicken tasted weird," the other 7 of us agreed. It might so inconsequential, but if you ask for an extra container of Ranch dressing, you get charged. Uhh, can we say, "petty"?? Yep. .25 cents per container. Give us a break. I've been coming to this particular one since I moved to lakeland in 2008. When I first started going there, the food was fantastic, but now I can't say that. Everything has been very inconsistent. I normally get the Kicken Chicken Sandwich and won't be getting that. Lately, that particular sandwich has been extremely soggy. They have been to heavy handed with the sauces on that. Their chicken has also been coming across as very salty. My brother normally gets the Chicken Finger Plate and always asks for extra fries instead of the coleslaw. The food was decent. I ordered boneless wings with sweet & spicy sauce after asking if it was "little" spicy or "big kick". I guess I thought it would come on the side as a dipping sauce but it came drenched in the sauce. It was lip tingling, making the taste of the chicken hard to taste. They were large nuggets with nice white meat (and no knife for the two-bite pieces). I would have given a higher rating if the service was better. Fast talking girl hard to understand, 3 sixteen year old giggler clerks behind the counter more into each other than their orders. Gave a $20 and she slapped the change on the counter even though my hand was outstretched, making me pick up coins one-by-one. Need some people skill training. Never having been there before the menu board behind the register on the wall is your only source to make decisions and a little overwhelming. The place is clean and was empty at a 5:30 weekday supper time. Diet Coke from a "touch" machine was not well balanced. read more

I worked for Zaxby's for a year and a half up until maybe a month or two ago. I do not suggest eating here, as I know what goes on in the "Back of House" area. They drop food - anything from buns to raw wings - on the dirty, unclean, wet floor throughout the day and still serve it to the guests. I once dropped a pan of 12 buns on the soaking wet, greasy floor and the general manager told me to put them back and still serve them. Same thing with wings and fries. While the hot grease does remove bacteria, it does not removed dirt or food particles. They force sick, contagious employees to work in direct contact with guests and food, even if they are running a fever and vomiting. They have a rat infestation in food prep areas, dry storage, and the dish room. The sanitizing water and towels used to clean the center line where food is plated or boxed is not changed out throughout the day, spreading bacteria. This especially applies on drive-thru order side, as they share a sanitizing bucket with the station used to prep raw chicken tenders, so anything wiped down on that side may result in salmonella spreading and touching cooked food. Management treats their employees poorly (once almost fired me for calling out of work a day ahead of time due to a bad car wreck). The food is great, sure, but it's not worth the health risk. I loved their food, but even I've stopped eating there due to this and since my leaving, have been informing others of the conditions. Please do not waste your time here. read more
