I'm not sure what's been going on here lately but the quality of food and customer service has really gone down. The food always seems to be burned/dried out (probably sitting on the grill too long or dried out in warmer tray) and our fries are never full regardless of the size we order. There's an obvious difference in customer service between the older generations that work there and the younger ones. I understand that some of these people are kids and learning their first job but we've had several instances in the drive through where our card is taken and food is given without either person even saying a word. We make a point to say things like "hi how are you" and "thank you have a good day" but some of these have even failed to yield a response from them. Again that's our experience with the younger ones. The older workers are always much more engaging and professional. I didn't even have Yelp prior to today, but I'm so tired of this being a repeated occurrence so I downloaded it solely to leave this review. When we want McDonalds from now on, I'm going to another store. To pay $13 each meal and have this lack of quality and quantity is just completely unacceptable. Pic of 1 fry is from 1/27/25. This McDonald should have the best time for getting customers out of drive thru ... literally you can have one cheeseburger and you got to park this morning they had 5 cars parked asked me to pull all the way around building and park in # 6 spot knowing they had 5 cars parked I just asked the manager at the window for a refund as I had somewhere to be and 5 cars already sitting time was not on my side .... This is my "home" location. I live 30 seconds away and eat way too many of my meals from this McDonald's. Sometimes I'll randomly go to a different one if I'm in a different area, and it will make me thankful for how good this one is. The food is always quick and and accurate if you customize it and they keep the fries fresh. This is like the only location I've seen actually throw away stale fries lol. I would give it a zero if could, I have loved McDonald's all my life and I'm 61. Rhe McDonald's on Sheppard Rd Lakeland fl is the worst ever. They get my order wrong every time, which is a Big Mac Meal how do you get that wrong. The last time i got a quarter pounder with double cheese with a ton of Mayonnaise on it. Terrible, also it was in a big mac box, the time before was a big mac missing the center peice of bread and no special sauce. Thats it if they are the only resturant open I will go without. If i could give negative stars I would. This location is literally the WORST McDonald's. I don't know what it is about Mulberry fast food locations but they damn sure cant find decent management or employees. You NEVER get what you ordered.ever. like looking at a screen and adding items to a bag is so damn difficult. Let me preface that it isnt. Almost anyone my age worked in fast food and knows adding food to the bag is the easiest part of working fast food. The least they could do is make sure it is right. You get charged for every sauce but they can't seem to find their way to the bags. Since when do you pay more for sauce to come with the nuggets? I am not talking about extra. I am talking about how none are free with the nuggets order. because their dry nuggets are so delicious right? SMH. Their dry nuggets taste like cardboard. The only reason I ordered in the first place is because my husband and I have covid and can't leave the house. Today I ordered a Large Oreo McFrappe and got a small kit Kat ice cream that was child size (for comparison a can of soda is bigger). Cause that is the same thing. When you are charged $6 for a drink you expect it to be right. Their app has no way to complain about wrong or missing items. They want you to contact the delivery service. Looking over the other reviews, it's hard to reconcile the overall rating. This was my first time at this McDonalds, and my first time trying one of their new 1/4 lb fresh beef entries. I had the 1/4 LB cheeseburger with bacon. A warning up front that their description of cheese with 3 strips of bacon should really be cheese with 3 half strips of bacon. The never frozen hamburger patty was definitely plus, but for this you pay over $5. One complaint is that the sandwich was a bit greasy (beef, bacon, and cheese, what would you expect), so as you pick it up to bring to your mouth it leaks. What they should be doing is wrapping half the sandwich in paper to catch the drippings. I improvised by doing this myself with napkins. Service at the drive through was quick and friendly. I don't frequent Lakeland, so I don't expect I will be back at this particular McDonalds, but the bottom line it was like most any other McDonalds. Either you like them or you hate them, but hard to beat the convenience. read more

By far the worst McDonald's in the area. They always forget items from your order without fail. Placed an order for pickup and the manager refused to allow my husband to pick up the order. They have never had a problem with that before. Yet this time it was a lazy MANAGER who obviously didn't want to do her job. I had to cancel the order and my husband had to place the order again. Then he gets home and low and behold we are missing the fries to my meal. I worked at McDonald's for years and know it isnt that difficult of a job to make sure the order is completely put together before handing out the bag to the already irritated customer. My husband was there for roughly 45 mins for food. Mind you had I wanted to cook I would have told him to leave. I made sure to tell him multiple times to make sure they give the sauce for the nuggets. You know they upcharge for the sauce but always neglect putting it in the bag obviously this McDonald's is notorious for wanting their customers to eat their chicken nuggets dry. I would sooner drive 20 mins out of my way to never give this location by business again. Wish I could get ahold of the general manager because the management at this location is lack luster. They always take forever you be in a line for 45 min or more also the customer service sucks the employees are rude a coworker from the register had throw me my card on the floor just because she was rude for no reason. Unfortunately this is the closest McDonald's to my house. Their food is always overcooked it looks like old grease that they never change. And it does not matter what time of day or night you go they tell you that there ice cream machine is out of order. Figures that's what McDonald's is known for it seems. Worst McDonald's there is. Unfortunately I live close to this one. Went inside to order. After waiting 10 minutes to order I then had to wait for 20 mins for the manager to call my order number only to say the were out of steak for my steak McMuffin and that they where serving lunch now if I wanted to replace it with something else. I told her to just refund my money and I would go somewhere else since I had already been in the lobby for 30 minutes at this point. So she supposedly refunded my money to my card when in actuality she charged me again. So now I was double charged for 2 $15 orders and I never received any food from them. What happened to McDonalds? They have gotten so bad over the years, it's really kind of sad. As a kid I was always so excited to go there, now I can barely tolerate their food. I've been to this particular McDonalds a few times, and the food is horrible. Every time I've come here my fries are cold, that's the only reason I still attempt to go there in the first place is the fries. It sickens me to watch them take a nasty looking pre-cooked meat (if you can call it that) patty and slap it on a stale bun. This is a newer McDonalds so I wasn't expecting a lot but my service tonight was ridiculous. I waited in the drive thru line for several minutes and no one ever came through the intercom to take my order so I had to drive up to the window and place it there. It took a few minutes for the girl to even come to the window. I placed my order which was a double cheeseburger no pickles no mustard or bun. I was the only car in the drive thru ( the restaurant lobby was also empty) and it took a good 5 minutes for them to prepare it. Once it was finally ready, the cashier was laughing as he handed it to me thru the window. Long story short, it was definitely not worth waiting for and it looked like he made it sloppy and extra greasy on purpose. Also gave it to me without a fork in the bag. Today at 11:30 a.m. I got a mocha frappe. All was well until about 2/3 the way through when a thick, white plastic piece came through the straw and into my mouth. I shrugged it off and tried another sip and a smaller plastic piece came up again. At that point I was done. I've been calling for over an hour and it keeps ringing busy. I too would have to say that this McDonald's is very conveniently located in South Lakeland off Sheppard Road for those who live in Imperial lakes or Carlton Arms or Sundance it was a welcome addition to a much-needed restaurant lineup in our area.. And that is about the only good thing that I can say about this McDonald's in the short three years that they have been open I cannot remember not one time actually getting good service good food or my order done correctly. I went to the drive thru at 6:15 am for a large ice coffee their was 3 cars in Lane 1 and 2 cars in Lane 2 one of which was me. Lane 2 handled the car in front of me and I pulled forward, then Lane 1 had all 3 cars handled while I waited in line then 2 more cars pulled up in Lane 1 and had ordered taken care of. This was ridiculous and caused me to be late for work. I'm not a fan of McDonalds food but coffee should be easy but it just caused me to hate McDonalds. read more

I live right down the road from this location, so I keep going there only for convenience. With that being said, this is probably one of the worst McDonalds in existence. Sometimes I stop their in the mornings for breakfast, and almost every single time, the dinner menu is still up. I place my order, tell them the menu needs to be changed, and it happens again the following morning, I skip two days, go back, and again, it's the dinner menu that's up. Well, on top of that, the Orange juice is always room temperature, like they forget to refrigerate it. I try to limit my order to one simple item, because they are notorious for getting orders wrong. Sometimes it takes them two or three times to correct their mistakes. Tonight, I went to get a Habanero bacon quarter pounder meal. I asked the lady taking my order if I could make the #5 a double. She didn't say yes, or no, she just asked if I want it medium or large. I told her large, she handed me my receipt, and noticed she did not charge me for a double. I waited, they handed me my food, I checked it at the counter, it WAS a single. I got the ladies attention, pointed out the so called mistake, and she tried taking it back. Never let them take your food back, to correct and give back to you. You never know what they do with it before they give it back. I told her no, but to learn how to pay attention. This place sucks. I asked the poor girl at the register if she could sub an English muffin for a biscuit on my big breakfast and she replied I don't know. I said well could you ask someone? So she turned to the girl next to her and asked. I got my muffin along with my cold food. She asked if we wanted cream and sugar, we said yes. Do you need stir sticks she asked. Duh!
