I don't visit Zaxby's frequently. This visit reminded me why. It is pricey! I should have made a different choice. I appreciated that my food was presented well and was piping hot. It was not nasty, but it also wasn't amazing. I paid extra to "big" my fries and drink. My drink needed more syrup, and the fries looked like a regular fry serving to me. They said they were not the regular and were indeed the 8 oz serving. Going "big" was not worth the money. I am sure I probably won't visit for another several years as in the past, but hopefully they bring food joy to someone else. read more

Today 5/12/2026 around 3pm I received some awful service and the so called leadership aka the manager was worse. Customer service is bad enough with the restaurants on Midlothian, but Zaxby's was one of my safe places when I don't bring my lunch from home. I ordered a meal that came to $11.23. I hand the young cashier a $20 bill and 23 cents. Even though there is a so called penny shortage or them not being made anymore, I accumulate a lot of change and I just wanted the dollars back. I get told that I can't pay the 23 cents, I can give them 20 cents or 25 cents... I watch as these 2 young , confused workers debate how to give me my change back. Obviously confused because that's not how it works. I give her 20cents because maybe , Im wrong. So let's see how this goes. This young lady proceeded to count out dollars and change; at which point I stop her explained to her why I gave the 23 cents. She is still confused. I said " Don't worry about it, but if you can't give me my exact change back, just cancel the whole order and I will take my money back. Instead of saying let me fix this she gets her manager. And I am so confused as to how tis woman is in a leadership position. She came to the register, never spoke , didn't correct the girls on where they went wrong, didn't acknowledge or speak to me at all. Then proceeded to act as if she was confused. Looking at everything but me and being deliberate in her slow movements. I politely had to say that I have a 30 minute lunch and have spent half of it here, please give me my money back so I can go back with no food. So glad I keep back up noodles at my desk. @Zaxbys do better with your staff and training of your staff. They have some great people who work there, but today's staff was disappointing and disrespectful read more

Went in for the Mr Beast Box. My son was super excited. The staff was very helpful making recommendations from the menu. The restaurant was clean which is always a huge plus. I ordered a 4 piece chicken finger meal. I asked to sub fries w fried pickles, they said no. No problem. I ordered an additional side so that I could get fried pickles. I ordered a frozen strawberry lemonade w the meal. They poured thick strawberry syrup into the cup, then poured the lemonade on top, never mixing it, and giving me a disgusting first swig of pure syrup that I immediately spit out! When I opened my box of food, 2 of the 4 chicken fingers were less than 2 1/2 INCHES LONG. THE MAJORITY OF MY FRIES WERE BIGGER THAN MY CHICKEN FINGERS!!!! I've honestly never been to a fast food location with such awful service. I ordered a kids meal and a chicken tenders meal for a 6pm pickup. Got there at 6:05 and it wasn't on the shelf. There was barely anyone in the restaurant, and like 2 cars in the drive through. Whatever, things happen. I stood there for FIFTEEN MINUTES before anyone even acknowledged me. Walked out with my food at 6:25. I'm not even mad it was late. The utter lack of acknowledgement and the fact that 2 of the four employees I saw were mostly just standing around looking confused, one was taking her dear sweet time plating a pan of cookies, the other must have been new because he looked confused as hell, and a third guy looked like he was working the kitchen but was constantly coming out to grab a cookie and walk back in. I was appalled with the service at this Location. When I walked in I was immediately greeted with sighs and side eyes from the workers. They then were extremely impatient when I was ordering and told me to "hurry up already". I could not believe it, if I wasn't so hungry I would have left. They told me that they would not be able to have my food ready for 25 minutes, which was a lie. When I finally got my food after 10 minutes, not 25 like she told me, the tenders were soggy, and I did not get the spicy zax sauce that I specifically requested multiple times. I could not believe that someone managed to screw up chicken tenders so badly. Would not recommend this location to my worst enemy. Unfortunately I do not know how to give zero stars. For a chain the chicken fingers are great! Fresh, not too heavily breaded. Also love the toast, lol. Fries are good, seasoned well. They just taste previously frozen. Fresh would be so much better, but I get it, this is a chain. The dipping sauce is tasty, I only ordered the snack but still could have used extra sauce. One for chicken, one for fries! I went into this location with my wife whom I've been inside of 6 Ft from all day when some 20 something female in charge insisted we stay 6 feet apart. She told me this with her mask down around her neck while every employee behind the counter was continually breaking that same 6 foot social rule. I would call myself a fried chicken addict, so was excited when Zaxby's came to town. However, I've been disappointed with everything so far except the salads (with chicken of course). There's just something missing in the flavor, crispiness or lack thereof, and overall quality. Maybe I just need to find the right sauce or a combo that fits. No interest in the Texas toast that seems to come with everything. The best salad is the Cobb and it's pretty darn good for the price.
